"The holiday was first class, however I emailed Sykes with a query regarding the booking and received no reply, hence the lower score for them as opposed to the stay and the property."
Thank You very much for your review. We're glad you enjoyed your stay. Property Owner

"Better signposts to the property : At entrance a map of the park would be very help full."
Also a signpost giving the numbers to the property at the car park: i.e. numbers 20to30 this way. Apart from the above we found the property to be clean and a well appointed kitchen. the small bedroom was very cold and damp, plus the bushes outside need trimming as they rub against the window keeping you awake. The front door needs to be able to lock at night. The holiday was good. and we enjoyed the peace and quite.

"We stayed for one week."
The facilities were excellent and very well equipped for our stay. The location was accessible to Bude and also other locations. Many thanks to the owners for making our stay comfortable and relaxing.
We are so glad you enjoyed your stay at 8 The Park. Thank you for your lovely review and we hope you will stay again. Property Owner

"Short concrete path leads directly from car park to the property."
I have had back trouble in the past so really appreciated the orthopaedic mattress - so much so that I have taken its details and have ordered one for mysellf, The owners obviously take pride in providing everything a guest could wish for. Cupboards/drawers full of books, games videos etc for if weather is bad (luckily we didn’t need them). Every conceivable kitchen implement was there including Tupperware boxes to make a picnic if desired. Towels were the softest we have ever felt and smelt like summer - name of fabric conditioner please. Cottage very clean with enough cloths and comprehensive cleaning materials to clean a medium sized hotel. All we needed to bring on holiday were our clothes and toiletries- everything else was well provided for. Well located near Bude and beaches. Comfortable stay for two people using second bedroom as storage for suitcases etc. Might be a bit snug for family if four. All in all would book this dog friendly cottage in future
Thank You for your wonderful review. We are so pleased you enjoyed your stay. I think the fabric conditioner was Lenor scent boosters. Kind regards, Nicola & Peter Dempster Property Owner

"Although it was clean and well equipped, the beds were terrible, so hard it was like sleeping on the floor."
We left on the Wednesday after 4 sleepless nights. The complex was extremely boggy. The paths through it do not connect. This place was Not the standard I expect from Sykes.
We are sorry that the beds were not to your liking. The beds were replaced last year, the double in particular has a quality Silentnight Miracoil orthopaedic mattress fitted. The paths from the car park lead to the individual lodges for privacy. Property Owner

About the location
KILKHAMPTON
Bude 4 miles.
Kilkhampton is an historic Cornish village, 4 miles from the popular Victorian seaside resort of Bude, one of Cornwall’s premier holiday locations. With its old church, village shops and atmospheric village pubs, Kilkhampton is a lovely place to relax after a hard day exploring the stunning beaches and spectacular coastal scenery for which the area is famous. Bude’s beaches attract surfers from all over the country and when conditions are right you’d be hard pushed to find better surf. When the tide is out, miles of golden sand and hundreds of rock pools keep visitors occupied for hours. The South West Coast Path, and many other rights-of-way winding over the clifftops and through lush green fields looking out over the sea, make this area a haven for walkers and lovers of the open countryside. For those who prefer staying closer to home, a good shopping centre and a selection of pubs, two clubs and restaurants are on offer. Bude canal, a registered nature reserve, passes through the town, and rowing a boat along its calm waters or walking the towpath among the beautiful (and friendly) water fowl that live among the reeds is a great way to spend an hour or two. A perfect location for all that North Cornwall has to offer.
