Dear Janine , Thank-you so much for taking the time to leave a review . Unfortunately the pool shut some time ago so we no longer advertise it, but we are so pleased you rated the chalet as 100% and hope you had a great stay! Thanks again, Suzanne and Will Property Owner

  • "It was easy to find from the instructions given, it was a lovely little place and we enjoyed our stay."

There were a few bits like air freshener plugs and a strip of lights on the floor. There was also some building work going on, on the site but this did not impact us as the noise was pretty minimal. The toilet roll holder was loose so could do with fixing, and would have been good to have a sieve to drain pasta. The shower was really nice, beds were comfortable and well furnished. The kitchen was well furnished but with all the extra decor made it difficult to store food but after we moved a few bits around we had some space. I would stay here again it is a lovely home away from home and very close to lots of things to do it's a shame that we were not staying for longer as we didn't get time to do everything.

Hi Joeanne, Thank you so much for leaving a review and so glad you enjoyed your stay, so pleased to hear you would stay again , hopefully see you next year ! And yes there is soooo much to do in the area. Apologies about the toilet roll holder, that is my DIY , it is a new holder and I put it up! I will get someone in to tighten it. I will speak to the cleaner as there was a sieve there and the lights normally are across the cupboard ? Glad that you found it comfortable, it really is a home from home for us and we love our time there and glad that you did. Hope to see you next year ! Suzanne and Will Property Owner

  • "Spotlessly clean, and really comfortable stay!"

We would definitely stay again. As per the last review, there was a sea view that was not mentioned, which was a lovely surprise and that we enjoyed in evening with a glass of wine! The Lodge itself seems to have had some new additions from the pictures on the website when we originally booked. Very comfortable, the new owners have clearly spent some time and effort with new blinds, bedding etc….. bathroom has been re vamped since the last pictures which again was a nice surprise. The kitchen is very well equipped, with more than just four of everything!!! Location is great, really easy to walk into village for food, supermarket and pub. We missed the opening of the new pub on-site , but looking forward to visiting when we return. You can even get the bus into Bude. We loved Sandymouth Beach , which is less than a ten minute drive and has a lovely café overlooking the bay. It is also dog friendly all year round with no restrictions! Overall, we loved the lodge, loved the area, brilliant value for money and we will be back!

Thank-you so much for your kind review ! Really important to us to get feedback. Glad you enjoyed the lodge, it was much loved when we got it but now just adding our personal touches to it and loving it even more. And yes have enjoyed a glass or two looking at the sea view ( albeit in the distance ) but still a great spot. We are over the moon that our local beach is all year round dog friendly, we love it and so does Snoop ! Once again , thank you for your review and hope you will return to 24.. Kind regards Suzanne & Will Property Owner

  • "In general number 24 is a lovely place to stay and would love to come back."

It’s a great place to stay being so close to bude and having a coop and pub in short walking distance. The property itself could do with a thorough cleaning as it was a bit grubby in places but with high traffic properties it’s almost to be expected but with a little hunting I found a hoover and a mop and some cleaning supplies, we did find someone else’s headphones presumably from the last person who stayed down the back of the sofa. The cherry on the cake was the unexpected sea view to have your morning coffee with which was very special. Advertised on the listing was a swimming pool and bar but we got an email the week before to say this was not available anymore so just something to be aware of however, this didn’t ruin our visit. We would definitely stop here again as we did shed a tear as we left, thank you x

Thank you very much for your kind feedback and we are so pleased you enjoyed your stay at No 24. It is a beautiful spot, especially with that view in the morning ! We have just bought the property, (which was much loved and maintained by the previous owners), so we are in the process of adding our touches and this week are busy painting and have added new blinds, curtains, TV and table! All very exciting. As you said it is close to the village and The Stowe pub (1 minute walk) opens on 2nd August. Really glad to see that you would return, hope to see you again! Kind regards Suzanne and Will Property Owner

  • "Easy to find with instructions provided and located in a quiet peaceful area."

We were aware no facilities available on site prior to booking which didn't affect us having a good holiday. Very helpful maps and information provided by the owners. Just a few niggles with the lodge: the blinds need to be changed to blackout blinds/ curtains as they affect sleep quality. The bathroom needs attention ( loose toilet seat & mold ). I realise the ownership changed recently & they probably haven't had time to do much prior to our arrival. Otherwise we had a lovely comfortable holiday.

Thank-you so much for taking the time to provide feedback. Will and I are really pleased you had a lovely comfortable holiday. You are right , we have only had the lodge a matter of weeks and are so excited to have bought in such a beautiful part of the country. We love it there as does our dog Snoop. We are there all next week, blinds and bathroom ( painted next week, refitted later this year) are top of our list ! In addition to new table, new smart TV amongst new bedding, cushions and the list goes on ! But once again, thank-you for comments and glad you enjoyed your stay, kind regards Suzanne Property Owner

  • "As there wasn’t a blind over the Kitchen window our privacy felt compromised in the evenings."

There had been one there in the past as bracket fixing holes were in the window frame. That aside it was an enjoyable experience.

About the location

KILKHAMPTON

Bude 4 miles.

Kilkhampton is an historic Cornish village, 4 miles from the popular Victorian seaside resort of Bude, one of Cornwall’s premier holiday locations. With its old church, village shops and atmospheric village pubs, Kilkhampton is a lovely place to relax after a hard day exploring the stunning beaches and spectacular coastal scenery for which the area is famous. Bude’s beaches attract surfers from all over the country and when conditions are right you’d be hard pushed to find better surf. When the tide is out, miles of golden sand and hundreds of rock pools keep visitors occupied for hours. The South West Coast Path, and many other rights-of-way winding over the clifftops and through lush green fields looking out over the sea, make this area a haven for walkers and lovers of the open countryside. For those who prefer staying closer to home, a good shopping centre and a selection of pubs, two clubs and restaurants are on offer. Bude canal, a registered nature reserve, passes through the town, and rowing a boat along its calm waters or walking the towpath among the beautiful (and friendly) water fowl that live among the reeds is a great way to spend an hour or two. Within the area there are also 2 golf courses, an indoor swimming pool, bowling alley at the leisure centre. A perfect location for all that North Cornwall has to offer.
