  • "Lovely decor & seating, gardens & good signage."

Beautifully clean interior. New shower room suite with rain shower and large shower cubicle. Note: bedrooms are upstairs, shower room/toilet is downstairs. Shower room/toilet door is also only 1m (approx) away from lounge sofa so I would not feel comfortable sharing this property with another couple. Weighted pull light cord switch is in the wrong position as it consistently gets caught in the shower room door. External windows needed cleaning as loads of spiders webs, insects and debris on the outside of UPVC windows and frames. King sized bed is of a soft consistency. 10.5 tog quilts - would have been good to have lighter weight quits option stored in bags under the beds. Well kept path to their private Cove with animals to view. Easy access to Coastal Path. One of the single beds had very noisy springs and had probably been slept in by a heavy weighted person. Note: take Milk and shopping to this location as there is no Welcome Pack provided.

  • "We had a lovely stay at Kingfisher cottage."

The location is great, being yards from the South West Coast path and with it's own beach. The views from the fields on the farm (which you have access to and have 'paths' mowed into them) are marvellous, and the Alpaca's are very friendly if you want to say hello. The cottage itself was very comfortable and well equipped, however the bathroom is on the ground-floor which was not mentioned in the listing - this could prove inconvenient for some people. The other drawback is the internet access. Whilst the listing says that "the wi-fi speed is much slower", the speed is not the main problem. The problem is the connection to the router that is external to the cottage and serves a number of the cottages. I continuously lost connection to the router which was frustrating - investment into additional connections for each group of cottages would probably solve this. However if you're not too bothered by internet connection, or the downstairs bathroom, and want a very comfortable cottage in a great location, with great views of the coast from the fields then this is the cottage for you.

Delightful cottage everything you need for a comfortable stay A dog towel treats and a roll of bags was a lovely touch for our westie Due to Bethany being poorly her mum Alison greeted us lovely lady guided us on different eating places and attractions and if anything in the cottage not happy with to see her Everything was great The Llamas sheep and goat were lovely The little beach was lovely I am sure on a sunny day but our weather was very mixed beginning of September Plenty of crockery pots pans cutlery knives and utensils The king size bed was lovely deep and we slept very well The bathroom was very clean the only thing I would change is the towel rail as starting to rust the shower was great with a choice of hand set or rain shower The laundry room is great although we didn't use it Information and an honesty box for the llama food we couldn't feed the geese and chickens due to avian bird flu but they were happy birds We loved it and would recommend booking this cottage location is just outside ilfracombe a matter of yards but close enough

  • "The property was in a beautiful setting with great access to the coastal path and private beach."

The facilities themselves were disappointing considering the price point. Basic things like tea/coffee could have been provided or at least an option to buy from the communal areas. This is the first holiday property where that hasn’t been available, yet was the most expensive. The property seemed run down, possibly a sign of being at the end of the summer season, but still disappointing given the cost.

  • "This is our second visit to Widmouth, the first visit was before the cottages had a makeover and we enjoyed it then so it was even nicer to have more comfortable surroundings."

The double bed in the main room was super comfy. Our only disappointment was how expensive eating out in Devon has become. Luckily the kitchen is well equipped for making your own food. Having the private beach was a real bonus and our dog loved it down there.

  • "Kingfisher and Martin cottages for a week."

It’s a stunning location in a valley down to a sheltered cove with own small beach and wonderful sea views along the coats. Our combined family stayed in Swallow, Kingfisher and Martin cottages. All we found comfortable, clean well set up and pleasant cottages. Site is dog and child friendly and the owners lovely and helpful. We liked the availability of site WiFI and the use of a separate lockable utility room with cloths wash and drying facilities and with a fridge and a freezer for overflow of things at times when there not quite enough room in the cottage’s small fridge/cold box We were impressed with the the thought and care that has gone into providing facilities for children and dogs on site and planting and pot plants around cottages.

  • "We had a brilliant stay and will definitely come back again."

The owners were lovely and very helpful. The only problem I had was navigating the drive front my cottage, as I have a big estate car and it was a little bit tight getting around the corner from where our cottage was.

  • "Generally quite disappointed in the comfort of the accommodation."

The mattresses were very soft, the pillows were very flat and uncomfortable sleeping experience as a result. Living room was comfortable and homely, but the TV screen was quite poor quality, the TV remote didnt link up with the TV at all, TV took ages to load and to change channel manually took about 5 seconds per channel. Kitchen was also a bit run down and basic. COVID impacted the items that could be provided for cleanliness.

  • "Everything was lovely."

It is a great set up and a beautiful location. On this occasion particularly helped by the weather. Due to the fact we had a dog I would have chosen (given the opportunity) one of the cottages with an outdoor space infront to allow her to roam freely. Appreciate this is not possible for all cottages due to space. The only issues I have with the stay is the cost which I believe is totally overpriced and the booking in and out times. I would normally expect to book into a place by about 2.00pm and book out between 10.00 - 11.00am on the day of departure. Considering the cost I was not impressed that we only had 2 nights and one full day in the place.

It was furnished lovely. Love all the reclaimed and up cycled furniture. The TV needs to be at least 3 times bigger and there were no sockets in the bedrooms to be bale to plug in any hairdryers or phones etc.

The property and grounds were lovely, great having the wildlife around especially the turkey who added a lot of fun albeit does not appear to like men. The owners were very pleasant and I am sure under different circumstances would have been more available for restaurant recommendations etc. All in all a great holiday and setting.

However the freezer was iced up and we couldn't shut the door. A lot of dirt and debris under the tv unit. Roasting dishes greasy. Kitchen backed onto a farm yard which was lovely but it wasn't swept or mucked out for a week attracting excess smell and flies into kitchen. House tired... a lot of cottages are being renovated but not ours. I would return
