  • "Lovely relaxing week."

Bungalow was well set out. Everything you needed. Beds really comfortable. Sofas were old and too low for us and not comfy but everything else was great Julie was so good too

  • "A lovely stay, yet again."

Super clean, with everything you need. The view from the back is just stunning and the park is so peaceful, it’s a real rest. Linen and towels were spotless as usual. The washing machine is a big bonus as is the internet, which we found very fast indeed. The only thing I’d change would be the sofas. They are very low and a little uncomfortable but this didn’t impact our stay at all, just an upgrade needed is all. We can’t wait to come back to Rosecraddoc and Watergate Bay. It’s a beautiful place to stay.

  • "Peaceful, tranquil, relaxing, restful."

... Just a few adjectives to describe our holiday village experience at 'Watergate Bay'. Thank you for the friendly and helpful welcome and everything you might need to get you started for a peaceful break in Cornwall. The fixtures, fittings and decor are clean and up to date, had everything we needed. It's a real shame that the 'sofa and bed' comfort needs addressing and possibly changing as they do let the side down a bit. Having mobility and disability issues, our comfort is essential and we had difficulty rising out of the sofa without assistance. May we suggest that when you up date the seating arrangements at Westgate Bay, please consider the comfort for the less able. Perhaps replace one of the 'big' old sofas by introducing a couple of high backed chairs with arms which would help those with less able issues. The bathroom facilities are modern with a walk in shower but the introduction of a grab rail would make showering safer. "We'll remember to request a portable shower seat and toilet rail next time we visit". Also, we would suggest that the toilet roll holder be relocated, it was a bit too close to the loo for comfort - (but that was just a little 'quibble'). We have to make a special mention about the very friendly wild life. Every morning we were introduced to an amiable little Robin who would tap on the patio window to ask for his breakfast. He would even take crumbs from your hand. The 'little stream' sound effects were also a pleasant feature and added to the outside morning coffee experience. On the whole, we were very happy with our stay and will keep 'Westgate Bay' and Rosecraddoc Holiday Village in mind for our next 'tranquil' Cornwall get away. The middle county location of the holiday village makes easy access to experience all aspects and areas of Cornwall.

  • "The property was clean and the kitchen well equipped."

The third bedroom was a little small but this could be made better with less furniture. The sofa needs replacing it was very uncomfortable. My poor dad struggled to get out of it as it’s too low and we all had to sit with cushion’s underneath us to make it bearable. My niece said a long mirror would be good. We did have a nice week though very quiet surroundings and a safe place to stay.

  • "We had a lovely stay, the setting was extremely relaxing."

However, we found the mattresses lumpy and the sofas quite saggy - they really need to be replaced. The hot water is very hot so beware and the bathroom window doesn't shut properly. Also, a grab handle in the shower would be helpful even for the able bodied. However, despite these comments we would go back and stay again.

Brilliant holiday fabulous place but only thing is the access to the holiday site itself but if you look past that it's a 100% from us highly recommend

  • "Nice clean quiet accomodation in a lovely holiday village."

Right by the stream with the lovely sound of water flowing. Ideal for somewhere to stay with dogs out in the sticks with Rosecraddoc Woods within walking distance.

  • "The bungalow is in a lovely, peaceful spot."

It was a delight to hear the stream flowing by and watching the squirrels, robins and even bullfinches outside. However, the furniture needs updating. The bedroom furniture in the double rooms is really dated and the sofas are uncomfortable and sagging, so much so, that you’re almost sitting on the floor. What’s with the folding door on the single bedroom??? A proper enclosed bedroom, with an actual door, would be far better because that nasty door is useless!

  • "Another fantastic week."

Our cottage was absolutely spotless, as usual! Everything we needed was provided. Thank you so much Julie and the wonderful team who look after the cottages and make them so fresh to move into! We hadn't planned on doing too much, this week was about relaxing but we were never at a loss. A great place to chill, watch a film or read as it's so quiet, just the sound of the stream....wonderful. The view from the back of the cottage, second to none. We never tire of looking at it. This time we had lambs and their mums keeping us company and the stunning oak takes centre stage. Magical. A fantastic location, 5 minutes from Liskeard and whatever shops you need. Beautiful fishing lake across the lane. The charge for fishing is very reasonable and the fish are in great condition (my fisherman son loves it). He fishes while I read, it's such a tranquil and pretty place and immaculate too. You're less than a half hour from the coast and 15 minutes from the Tamar bridge should you want to cross it and go to Plymouth or further. We try not to! It's not nice to leave Kernow! Go west! We come back to Watergate Bay every year and this year, twice, as we've just booked for September. It feels like a real escape.

  • "Property is fine, view from sitting room overlooking the field and watching the squirrels listening to the stream relaxing it would be much more relaxing if the settees were comfortable very saggy."

It could also do with a handrail in the shower. Also the front door handle had to forced up to lock and unlock.

  • "Another brilliant stay at Watergate Bay."

Firstly, I'd like to say a massive thank you to Julie and the other ladies who cleaned before we went in. The cottage was spotless. Really top notch. It's a wonderful place to stay. Quiet, chilled and in the most gorgeous surroundings. The view from the back of the cottage is second to none. Well equipped, comfortable beds, again, spotless. Lovely fresh bed linen. Wi-Fi doesn't bother us but we have a 15 year old son and he is always happy with the speed of it here. Also, for me a real advantage, the washing machine, a brilliant thing indeed! With Liskeard so close by for essentials, wonderful pubs: The Crow's Nest (our favourite), The Plough at Duloe and if you don't mind a drive through the best scenery in the world, The Cobweb Inn at Boscatle, to name a few. Fishing at the lake was wonderful. My son is a mad keen angler and loved it. The fish are in great condition and it's the perfect place for parents to chill. Bake lakes, just off the Trerulefoot roundabout are fantastic if you want to fish different lakes. A brilliant stay. As usual. Back in March, can't wait. Thank you!!

Although there is nothing to do on site, Watergate Bay is a good base with all the usual modern conveniences included. We particularly enjoyed the view from our picnic bench overlooking the stream to the sheep fields. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay.

  • "What a little gem!"

Watergate Bay is in the most beautiful surroundings, gorgeous views, with a clear, flowing stream just at the back. Over the stream we had neighbours in the form of cows, who would come for a chat! The cottage itself was perfect. Plenty of room and all the equipment needed to have a good stay. I have to say also that it was spotlessly clean. Immaculate. We booked at quite short notice and there wasn’t much available in our price range and that met our criteria, we usually stay in Cawsand on the coast, so inland was a departure but we weren’t disappointed with this find. I went for it as there is a fishing lake literally a couple of hundred yards away over a quiet lane that is a part of the holiday village. You pay a fee, daily or weekly. At a total of £45 for my husband and son for a week’s fishing, you can’t go wrong. My son was in heaven. Such a gorgeous lake set in a tranquil landscape. The fish were super healthy and the whole area, like our cottage, was immaculate. Dogs must be kept on a lead but there is an area of woodland just up the road where they can be let off, another plus! We came home and have booked for next year already. Back at the coastal cottage we use in October too. Have to say that we only use Sykes. The whole experience is stress free and descriptions have always been bang on.
