  • "We had a brilliant holiday at Junkett Cottage."

There was nothing we needed, it has everything. The specification is high, cleanliness is 100% and parking for two cars, Linda (owner) is extremely welcoming…..introductions were made the day after our arrival at the local pub where she recognised our dogs from a description I’d given her…… We will be going back to Noss Mayo in the future and hopefully see you again…..in the Dolphin

We particularly liked the lovely well equipped kitchen and the bedrooms with views over the estuary. Generous off road parking space, which is a big plus in this village We enjoyed the excellent village pubs and easy coastal walks We slept well, eat well and got plenty of fresh sea air. Our border terrier also gives it a five woofs rating.

  • "Although the house was dog friendly there was no secure outside space for the dog."

However, the cottage was very comfortable, had everything we needed and Linda was on call if we needed anything.

Thank you for your feedback, it does not say on the website that there is a secure area for dogs. As you come out the front door there is a very small gated area to stop animals and children from running out onto the road . We decided that I would be better to have parking area instead of a garden as the parking in Noss Mayo is particularly difficult. Property Owner

Junket cottage is very much the epitome of the perfect holiday cottage, it's spotlessly clean with every eventuality catered for from logs for the wood burner to soap dispensers in the bathrooms. This is all before I mention the location, on the banks of noss creek where you can watch the rise and fall of the tide in peace and quiet, enjoy a quiet drink or meal at any one of the 3 local pubs, we tried them all, or walk in any direction to various cove beaches. It was our 1st stay at Junket and noss mayo but we'll definitely be back

  • "Your insurance is very overpriced."

You charged a booking fee and then another £35 to postpone due to lockdown. This is disgusting. Our original Xmas week booking for more expensive than the week we moved it to but you did not refund the difference. I will never book with you or your associated companies again. On the plus side, the cottage was great and the owners were very friendly and helpful.

Thank you for taking the time to leave your feedback and we are pleased to hear that you enjoyed your stay at Junket Cottage. You contacted us to move your Christmas booking two months before the holiday started. As you know at the time we were dealing with bookings just a few weeks ahead of their start date as Covid restrictions were changing frequently. At that early stage your request to move the holiday to a new date carried the usual date amendment fee and the dates you moved to in May 2021 were slightly more expensive than your original Christmas week, so there was a small additional balance to pay. Some stunning scenery, countryside and coastal walks from the door and 3 really nice pubs with good food in walking distance. Having parking is essential around there as it’s narrow roads, the location of the cottage means you don’t need to venture too far into the narrow roads of the village, which we were glad of.

The property

Junket Cottage is a semi-detached stone cottage overlooking the River Yealm in Noss Mayo.

Just 500 yards from the waterside pubs, and with stylish contemporary style, it offers lovely accommodation for small families or couples.

From the lane, you step up to your front door into the hall.

From here, head into your sitting room with cosy wood burning stove or the smart kitchen where you can enjoy leisurely mealtimes.

At bedtime, head upstairs to the two comfortable bedrooms where you can wake to fascinating views of the river.

Across the lane, with access through the gate to the left hand side of the hedge, you have your outdoor seating area, from which steps wind steeply down to the riverbank.

Here you share a table and chairs on a quay and a slipway and outhaul mooring with one other cottage.

Noss Mayo is perfect for boating fans and you can launch your dinghy on to the water at the public slipway 100 yards from the cottage.

For some different water activity, try paddleboarding or wakeboarding hire or trips, or stay on dry land and walk the woodland or to the cliff top Coast Path.

Along the coast, Mothecombe is a beautiful beach and Wembury is good for rock pooling and its marine conservation centre.

And at the end of the day, chill out in the pubs beside the river.

With its riverside setting and closeness to the popular pubs, Junket Cottage is a lovely place.

Note: This property has a Good Housekeeping bond of £100.
