Well equipped with everything you could need . Fab kitchen with lovely views . Massive main bedroom and bathroom with underfloor heating . My husband and I stayed in the smaller twin room which was comfy. The shower room is small but we managed at our height if 5ft 5. Parking arrangements worked well for us. The accommodation was great for the two of us and everything was spotless. It was well equipped to a very high standard. The little patio provided great views and a welcome outside space. We had everything we needed for a very relaxing break. Only problem we found was that DVD player connected to the TV OK, but didn’t seem to read the discs. Overall a very positive experience. Thanks.

Thank you for your feedback. We will fix the DVD player on our next visit. Property Owner

The view was lovely and we would certainly like to return one day. Only minor niggle was that the rubbish was not collected and the details in the property about recycling at the Batson Creek car park should be amended as they no longer exist.

  • "We had a great time here."

The only misnomer was the 'cottage' description...it is clearly an apartment. In escaping an air b n b next door to our home (a cottage with paper thin walls) we were anxious to book a quiet place. Could've kicked ourselves when we realised this was an apartment! Luckily we didn't have any neighbours during our week holiday and the whole place was blissfully quiet except for the seagulls (we're used to those!) The kitchen and equipment was new and clean, also both bathroom and shower-room were spotless and equipped with shaving/make up mirrors. The cushion and settees were a bit grubby but really it seemed obvious that things were gradually being replaced when they needed it...rather than wholesale waste all at once. The main bedroom was a little cold and damp feeling from condensation, so we kept the windows open when we were indoors to air it. We made the most of the little patio and made firm friends of the Robins in particular, who were very sociable and preferred to visit and feed when we were around, instead of us leaving food out for them. The views of the estuary and Snape's point are totally mesmerising. The property is at the top of a hill (not too bad a climb) and very close to both a play park if you have kids and Courtenay Park which has spectacular views of the estuary. It's pretty close to everything really, without being right in Fore Street and its associated noise. Perfect! We've visited Salcombe many times since the early 70s so know it quite well and rate this apartment as a good all-rounder.

Thank you for your feedback. We have bought a new set of cushions for the sofa! Property Owner

Seemed almost spanking brand new. Great location from great views the patio. Only downside, a Parking warden said our parking permit had inaccurate information. He said our permit was to be used only in Creek car park,( not Batsun Creek) lucky we asked him as were we in the wrong one and he redirected us. Worth investigating either he or the permit information is wrong.

It's such a welcoming, clean and cosy cottage - we felt at home straight away. Just being able to sit on the sofa with a hot chocolate, looking out at the glorious view, was a happy treat. A special mention to the team at the Coast and Country office! They went above and beyond to help us on arrival - their warm smiles and happiness to help made such a difference. Thank you.

  • "The cottage was very nice in a good location."

The only downside was the shower which was small and for a larger person would prove a challenge to fit into. Car parking was also an issue as the main car park in the town was very busy and we struggled to find a space. Once we had parked we could not go out for the day in the car for fear of losing our space.

It is a lovely property with everything we needed. Standard of accommodation and bedding/crockery etc was perfect. felt like a home from home. as it was off the main drag, it was very quiet (but we were out of season), had a good nights sleep, lovely space inside and out and a parking permit for a nearby carpark. would definitely stay again...

  • "There were good points and bad points."

Good points were the main bedroom and bathroom and kitchen and sitting room. The second bedroom was not “more suitable for children” leaving the impression that adults could use it with a little discomfort…..it should be flagged as not at all suitable for adults and it should be mentioned that the en-suite is very cramped and an adult cannot even stand up in it properly. The throw on the sofa was grubby and needed a wash l. The whole place was in need of redecoration. The plaster at the top of the stairs still has not been put right. The kitchen window woodwork was dirty and needed a paint. The patio was not private as advertised and the mat was very dirty and the patio needed a good clean. The rest of the outside could do with some attention. The front door was not welcoming, it was dirty and should have had the bird mess cleaned off. All in all we found the property quite tacky and not what we expected from your company.

  • "We were in Salcombe for wedding celebrations but had left booking accommodation late in the day."

With no hotel rooms available in walking distance of the venue we booked self-catering accommodation and only stayed at the flat for three nights. The property met our needs admirably for the short time we were there. Had the weather been kinder, sitting on the balcony would have been a bonus. Only negative comments would be with the arrival instructions which advised us we needed to bring our own towels when in fact they were provided. I always take my own basic cooking ingredients but forgot the salt and pepper. There were some basic ingredients in the flat but no salt and pepper; there is now.

Thank you for taking the time to leave your comments following your stay at 14a. We were delighted to read that the property was able to meet the needs of your short stay. We’re only sorry you weren’t able to see Salcombe in its glorious sunshine.. perhaps on another visit! Thank you for alerting us to the notes, we have asked that these be updated for future bookings. Very central to Salcombe. Beautiful view of harbour from sitting room. The only downside was outside space extremely close to that of neighbours on all sides. Courtney Street is also very narrow and 14a is at the top so ability to reverse all the way down a necessity!

  • "Hello, the mattress on the double bed is very uncomfortable with springs sticking into your back."

It would be good to warn others that the balcony is adjacent to another balcony of the cottage next door and therefore there is no privacy when both parties are sitting at their tables on the balcony. The distance between these tables just meets the 2 metre criteria - hence my suggestion to warn others. It was not clear if the garden was for our use at 14a or for the sole use of the occupants at 14. The fridge was not clean and a china mug was dirty but for the hassle of ringing up Coast and Country office and asking someone to come and clean these it was not worth the effort but disappointing as we thought increased cleaning had been applied to the cottage. We did arrive early in Salcombe and had been told we could collect keys early if the cottage was ready, which we did and we were grateful for that.

Thank you for your feedback, we apologise for the few issues you encountered during your stay. Your feedback is very important to us. The owner of 14a has now ordered a new bed to be delivered this week. We hope despite this, that you enjoyed your stay and we look forward to welcoming you back to Salcombe again soon. • "Very well equipped cottage."

Very comfortable and easy to live in. Lovely decking area. A few minor problems. Rubbish in Salcombe separated into categorise, there were no instructions and only one colour bag available when three were needed and info about facilities such as bottle banks would have been helpful. Delightful patio area but very overlooked by neighbours on higher street and flat overhead and very near next door's decking area.
