  • "2 Poundstone Court is a great apartment, in a convenient location with stunning views from a long balcony that gets sunshine until late in the afternoon."

The bedrooms are large and airy, with one having a good sized en-suite bathroom with shower over the bath and the other an en-suite shower and toilet.   The kitchen is small but well equipped but could be improved with decent coffee making facilities. We needed 2 car parking spaces which this property is advertised as having but the one in the garage was unusable unless it was for a very small car as there was a long bench with tools sticking out making parking impossible.  Fortunately we were out of season, so could find parking on nearby roads for one car without too much trouble. In high season that could prove tricky and expensive.

  • "A great location and a fabulously located apartment with huge picture windows leading to an enormous balcony overlooking the estuary - the photos speak for themselves - let down by soft furnishings that have seen better times (and too many sweaty bodies)."

Some other issues with cleanliness on this occasion too. Can't fault Coast and Country, though, who were highly responsive and keen to put right what they could (which they did), but even they couldn't rectify the small and shabby sofa, which the owners presumably thought would do. Well, not at this price point it won't. Of all the properties we've rented over our twenty-something years of coming to South Hams (minimum once a year), this was our third and, I'm afraid, now final visit to No. 2 Poundstone Court, However, definitely not our last let through Coast and Country.

I also think time for a kitchen upgrade, induction hob and a new extractor as it doesn’t work. The apartment was lovely and clean and the lounge is very comfortable,we do worry about the dining table as the leaves are very wobbly.A lovely glass table would be a great addition and feel safer when you are eating. The view is beautiful and so close to town.Excellent stay .

  • "The location of the property is superb and views spectacular."

The property was clean but maintenance not the best. The gas hob igniter didn't work and reading the visitor book, guests complained about it two years ago. The extractor fan would only work if you help the button which was a nuisance. The beds were extremely uncomfortable and the mattress in the king size bed did not fit the frame properly so you had to be careful getting in and out of it. Lovely apartment, but needs some investment. You are paying for the fabulous views.

We have stayed at 2 poundcourt on several occasions and just love it, wouldn't stay anywhere else. However we were a little suprised that lounge patio door still does not lock, it wasn't working last year , that really should have been sorted out by now. not sure where that sits for insurance purposes!

It is clean, comfortable and light. It has a well-equipped, modern kitchen, luxurious bathroom, large master bedroom. The starter pack had everything when needed to settle in. The sort of place you can enjoy whatever the British weather throws at you.

  • "A perfect apartment with fantastic views over the Estuary and all the amenities you could possibly need."

Clean and great size rooms could easily accommodate 5 guests if had sofa bed or guest bed in main bedroom. Only improvement could be to ensure windows and balcony glass are cleaned as these were dirty (seems a bird took a fancy to them) and to warn of the extremely difficult parking for large cars. Did not use garage as no instructions on how to open it and not sure my car would've fitted even if I had figured out how to open it. I would definitely recommend this property and would like to stay again, just wish I could have brought my dog.

  • "The location of the property is convenient for Salcombe and it’s wonderful shops, pubs and restaurants."

The views of the estuary and beaches from the apartment are stunning. The facilities are good and well maintained. The main bedroom is spacious and the bathroom adequate. We did eat in one night and the cooking facility was good. The parking is very difficult with a medium car the area in front of the garage is narrow with two pillars in front. We visited in mid January and temperatures outside were sub zero at night and only 5C during the day. Consequently we found the heating of the property inadequate. It was uncomfortable to sit in the lounge after eating out in the local pubs. The radiators worked ok but the draft from the patio doors defeated the heating.

We are so pleased that you enjoyed your stay at 2 Poundstone. The doors are due to be replaced this year. Hopefully we will be able to welcome you back to Salcombe again soon. Property Owner

Amazing position. Right Hand Sliding Door needs some attention to the locking mechanism and would not recommend opening until this has been done. Likewise the single bed under the window needs looking at with regard to the slats under the mattress.

There are fantastic views across the estuary even on a grey day! Our only concern was the patio door (I have seen this been mentioned in other reviews). It was not securely fitted and did not lock. It was very windy during our stay - the door was rattling, there was a strong draught and we were a bit worried the whole thing would cave in! Other than that our stay there was perfect and we would book again.

Parking was interesting in a Jaguar XF but with care only one minor w/mirror scratch. The flat was warm and comfortable with all amenities to hand. Would benefit from shelves in the showers(to hang shower gel etc. from)and a splatter mesh for the frying pan. On the whole a great place to holiday, in fact have booked for next September already. Could do with an update for the price they charge. Other family members rented 9 Poundstone which was worlds apart - beautifully decorated and furnished, would highly recommend that over 2 Poundstone. We will be booking somewhere different next year. Coast and Country were great, we had no problems with the apartment, just not the premium experience you'd expect for the price.

  • "Fabulous improvement to both bathrooms."

Apartment very clean. The welcome pack was a great addition. However for improvements: 1. Please refine instruction regards key safe, “ The keys can be found in a key safe, which is located in the blue/grey Louvre cupboard to the left of the front door, just past the window.” 2. The large patio door ( right hand side near tv) requires URGENT repair or replacement. Last year it was off the runners and difficult to use and this year appeared worse and the handle was falling off. It was impossible to use. Other than that, views to die for and perfect weather.

Small nags - found parking really difficult, and a little scary!! Should state parking for small, medium cars only. Also we found having the Wifi system in the bedroom was not the best. The blue light radiating from it kept me awake at times. I think as well that the rooms could do with a little TLC, looking a little worn especially the carpet in the main bedroom which was quite stained.

It would have been useful to have been advised of this and we would then have brought our own. It’s location is ideal for us and in general terms delivered well , but .... there were a number of niggles which proved irritating and should have been dealt with at a pre check stage before we moved in. 1. The plug in one of the bathroom sinks was jammed in and after removing it the plumber was unable to refix this for the whole time we were there 2 The dishwasher after one run broke down and had to be repaired by someone coming round 3 not able to use the oven on the first night and someone had to come round to reset the clock to manual.. not clearly explained in any instructions

Many thanks for leaving us your feedback. We were sorry to read that you had some issues during your stay. Please be assured that should you have contacted our Salcombe office during your stay, our team would have done everything they could to assist in resolving these issues. • "It is the location and unbeatable views that sell this apartment."

However the owners have ignored the comments made in their visitors book for the last 3 years, regarding required updates and improvements: The 2 bedrooms need daytime privacy blinds, since other residents can walk right past these windows and see inside. We had to keep the curtains closed throughout our stay, giving a gloomy feel to the apartment. At night the outside security lights shine into both bedrooms, lighting up the rooms! Blackout curtains are required. The second bedroom en-suite bathroom has only a hand shower attachment, from the bath taps. We were a party of 4 adults so ended up all sharing the first bedroom en-suite shower. Both bathrooms need updating, with heated towel rails as there is nowhere to dry towels. The hallway needs a row of coat hooks for outside clothing. The balcony is the main selling point of this apartment, but the furniture on it is old and falling apart. The table wobbles and is unsteady. The apartment sleeps 4 but there are only 2 sun loungers provided. For visitors with 2 cars, it needs to be made clear that only a small car will fit in the garage. Fortunately one of our cars was a mini, but a larger car would not be able to open the drivers’ door. Overall, this apartment is tired and crying out for refurbishment of all rooms and new furniture, if the owners expect repeat bookings.

No complaints at all, until it comes to the details. The flat is part of a gated complex, where other guests had a remote fob to work the gates. I was offered a code for the keypad which did not work, and it took 3 days, several telephone calls and two trips to the office to get the correct one. Similarly the automatic garage doors would not work, likewise even the code for the waste bins. A great place in an excellent location, marred at times by irritating things that could so easily have been rectified.
