  • "A spacious house which easily accommodated our three generation family."

The house was as described and had everything we needed. Having three bathrooms / toilets / showers was great as there was no hanging around waiting. The beds and sofas were comfortable and the dining table large enough for us all to eat and play games at. Centrally located, but as a consequence had absolutely nowhere to park. We ended up parking a good 10-15 mins away. We thought the house very tired in places and it could do with an update. It also had a damp dog smell when we arrived. Very pricey for two nights - we would probably not stay here again, but enjoyed our stay, thank you.

  • "Great house in fabulous location."

Perfect stay for our multigenerational holiday. The only minor negatives for us were that it lacked the following items which we would have expected; a garden umbrella (for our door eating in the sun), a hairdryer, oven gloves and a kitchen spray! Tried to rebook for next year but already full

  • "Many thanks for another lovely week at Home."

We loved our stay in your lovely property. Although the en-suite shower wasn’t draining properly, maintenance were very helpful when we called them about it. It was great to have been given a direct number - very helpful. We look forward to visiting again next year!

  • "This was our 3rd time renting Home and we love staying there - we've already booked again for next June!"

The house is very comfortable and large enough for three generations of family to enjoy together and we love the location. We've always enjoyed using the Snug and the PlayStation and appreciate the owner providing games, books and DVDs. However there are a few improvements that could be made. Every time we've stayed the cleanliness has been a bit below standards - nothing worth calling the agents about but the odd bit of rubbish under beds, dust and hair in places. Also, more the fault of previous guests but the chopping boards and other kitchen equipment were quite dirty when we took them out of the cupboards. I appreciate it's a big house and the turn around times are tight but a little extra care and attention to the cleaning would go along way. The main bathroom is getting pretty outdated, especially the carpet and mouldy shower curtain which needs replacing. The partially blocked shower drain in the main bathroom also needs looking at as that always seems to be a bit of a problem. Again, that might just be a cleaning issue. I also really think there needs to be a better recycling system for rubbish. Having the new bin in the kitchen for recycling is great but do you really expect guests to drive to Marlborough to drop it at recycling bins? Although lack of recycling facilities might be a 'Salcombe problem' I'm sure a big rental agency like Coast and Country could employ a private contractor to remove recycling rubbish from all it's properties. On the whole it's a great place to stay and we've always been really happy with the property, but a few little tweaks would make it perfect!

  • "We had a great week with all the family…."

We rented two houses and Home was our base for meals etc…the house has so many rooms you’re never on top of each other. The weather was great and the gardens both front and back are real sun traps. So many happy memories!!!

  • "We loved our stay at this property."

Great location close to shops and restaurants. The rooms were all a great size, beds very comfortable. Loved the snug room on the top floor, that was a fab bonus with great views. Great garden too, which would be ideal to use on sunny day/evenings. We would definitely come back again as it had all we needed and more.

  • "We booked Home for a special birthday."

Brilliant location and absolutely perfect for 5 adults , one child and a dog. The snug and study were a welcome extra space. If I had to feedback any criticism it would be similar to other reviews regarding the cleaning there was quite a bit of confetti on the livingroom/dining room floor & we needed to wash a lot of the saucepans and plates .The bathrooms are dated but fully functional and clean. We weren’t technical enough to get the PlayStation to work and happy using the apps on the tv downstairs. A grill rack would be really handy and maybe a few cleaning products to use on surfaces for when you leave . Hopefully next time we return we can use the garden more which is a lovely space.

  • "Lovely spacious house but the main bathroom needs updating badly."

Also the cooker seems to smell out the house and burns everything at the bottom. The TV is a nightmare as couldn't work anything out so just stuck with Netflix, but still a nice house

  • "Just a couple of small things which make all the difference…."

Washing up liquid rather than running the dishwasher for a few bits. Hand wash for all the toilets and more bin liners. Otherwise we loved Home . Our friend was the previous owner and we have been coming here for over 20 years .Thank you for allowing us to use Home again . Best wishes

Also just wondered why the loft room is no longer a bedroom seems a bit of a waste to have this as a snug along with the downstairs room as well. Had a really good stay and would be happy to stay there again,

  • "The property is lovely and kept to a very high standard."

There really isn't much we could fault that could be fixed. The kitchen is well appointed, rooms are spacious and outside space is lovely. Only downside for us was the stairs and gate at the bottom being a bit of a faff with a buggy and the lack of good parking to leave your car overnight but appreciate that's a Salcombe problem rather than a property one. We had a wonderful stay and would recommend it to anyone. As a general tip we would recommend arriving after 5.30/6 when the shops are closed as there's usually quite a few places you can pull in very near by to empty the car which is worth considering if you've got quite a lot of stuff. Otherwise there's the parking lot a couple of minutes away (which doesn't sound a long way but adds up if you're going back and forth)

  • "Spacious, comfortable house with a lovely outside space in a good location (level short walk to shops & eateries)."

Both long & short stay parking within 5 minutes walk. The kitchen is well equipped (with herbs in the garden)! The master bedroom bed was comfortable. And the en suite has obviously been recently updated with a decent rainfall shower (one with a handheld option too would have been nice as I don’t always want to get my hair wet). Plenty of storage throughout the house. A bottle of fizz as a welcome was a nice touch. Minor cleaning issues: hair & dust in one of the bedroom drawers, dust & hair on one of the living room window sills, sweet wrapper under the coffee table. All the bulbs in one of the living room lamps had blown. The rug in the dining room could present a trip hazard as one corner is curling up. Overall a great place to stay.

The property was spotless, the kitchen was superbly equipped, and the beds incredibly comfortable. We were lucky with the weather and used the terrace. Cooked a 3 course meal one night, and made use of the wine fridge. Couldn't have asked for a better birthday weekend. Thank you all so much!
