The property

Leylands is a delightful late Victorian terraced house built for a sea captain, in a beautiful position in popular Salcombe.

The property, which has been sympathetically renovated, has magnificent views of the harbour towards South Pool Creek and East Portlemouth, and is just a short walk from the town centre and waterfront.

Providing spacious, well-equipped accommodation within easy reach of Salcombe’s amenities this delightful property is not to be missed! Arranged over two floors, the property is well equipped with child-friendly facilities and, with multiple living areas, it is excellent for those with older children who may want their own space.

The open-plan kitchen/diner is beautifully presented and equipped to a very high standard.

There is also a delightful lounge with a picture bay window offering an excellent view of the estuary, as well as an inviting second sitting room with two large sofas and an additional TV.

To the rear of the house is a sloping garden and a furnished terrace, complete with a barbecue.

When the sun is shining, be sure to make the most of this space by firing up the grill and enjoying some wonderful grub together. There are four first-floor bedrooms: A master with wonderful estuary views, a king-size bed with an en-suite, a twin room with two single beds, a further double with a 4'6" bed, and finally a child’s bedroom with a set of bunk beds (only suitable for under 12's).

In addition, there is a recently renovated family bathroom on the first floor, and on the ground floor is a shower room.

The bathroom and shower room help ensure that there are never any morning rushes when it comes to getting ready in the morning!

Enjoy all of this and so much more in this wonderful corner of the country with a stay at Leylands.

Note: This property has a Good Housekeeping bond of £350.

About the location

SALCOMBE

Kingsbridge 7 miles; Dartmouth 21 miles; Plymouth 24 miles; Paignton 26 miles.

Salcombe is a popular destination for walkers and families looking for a holiday by the sea and was once a major port. There are two pretty beaches within a short distance, North Sands and South Sands and further on is the National Trust property Overbeck’s where you can wander through the subtropical gardens. You can also take the small ferry across the estuary to the beaches of East Portlemouth, and a walk to Gara Rock. Why not have a more adventurous day and try out the watersports available on the estuary including sailing, kayaking or a more leisurely boat trip? Whilst staying in Salcombe you must take advantage of the locally sourced seafood which is served in many of the restaurants, pubs, cafés and delicatessens. The southern tip of Devon provides some spectacular scenery and picturesque vistas with a number of sandy beaches, lovely villages with thatched cottages and some fantastic opportunities for walking, including the South West Coast path.
