  • "Lovely house, clean, good location to walk into Salcombe."

For me the garden was just too steep!

  • "We could not find the freezer and the steps to the garden and the garden needs work"

Thank you for your feedback. I am sorry you couldn’t find the freezer in the cupboard but it was there the previous week as I defrosted it ready for your stay. We also cut the grass, strimmed the steps and trimmed all the hedges, ready for you, so not sure what else needed to be done in the garden. As it is the end of the summer season anyone other remedial work will be carried out over the winter. Property Owner

  • "Cottage was very nice …."

. missing the usual welcome pack of fresh milk and biccies ! ( after an eight hour journey ,it would have been great to have a cuppa whilst unpacking) The laminated notes left were rudely worded , at best, passive aggressive ! Not very trusting or welcoming. In 12 years of coming to Devon , we have never had come across this before . Better if guests feel welcome and not a hinderance.

I am glad you liked our lovely well equiped cottage. We always leave tea and ground coffee out on the side in containers and long life milk pots in the cupboard. If you preferred fresh milk then the Spar is only at the top of the back garden drive, which is literally a minutes walk away. There are treats in the Treat Jar, but these are only intended for our four legged visitors. I am sorry you found the laminated instructions offensive but these were prepared by the previous owners of Tor cottage and in all the time they rented it out no one took offence and asking you to clean the bbq if you have used it only seems fair. Hope you enjoyed the lovely weather whilst you were down in Salcombe. Property Owner

  • "Lovely cottage."

I’m a chef so please to see the kitchen well stocked with cooking utensils and much more! Very comfortable and pleasantly decorated. Loved the view from the windows and top of the garden. ( may have been nice to have had the grass mown and paving steps jet washed before our arrival. Very slippy with moss etc and would have been much easier to pick up poo from dog). We have fallen in love with Salcombe. Loved the walk into town. Bars and restaurants all served really nice food. Great “ kooky” around shops. Beautiful beaches and walks. Think we packed quite a lot into our 5 night stay. Can’t wait to return. (Hopefully soon!) And continue our exploration of your beautiful part of Devon.

I am glad you liked our lovely cottage, the estuary views and appreciated all the effort we have put in to equipping it to the highest standard. You were the first guests this year and as consequence the grass had not been cut due to the exceptionally wet spring, as was the same with all the properties in Salcombe. Now we have had the better weather the garden is regularly cut and the paths jet washed. We hope to see you back soon. Property Owner
