  • "Hi there We had a wonderful stay in your beautiful villa and we can’t wait to return."

A few things that we felt needed to be addressed: the extractor fan is really dirty and needs new filter and has not been cleaned on the outside all fat marks on it. The bins weren’t emptied so we ended up taking a lot of our rubbish with us as lots of previous renters rubbish was also in there, so no room for ours. The situation was a bit dire with the wine glasses - there were only three champagne flutes (four if you include one as a different size) and only 3 to 4 wine glasses really need to have at least eight wine glasses the same size and at least eight champagne glasses of the same size, especially if you’re marketing it for an eight people stay. We came for a 70th birthday celebration and 50th anniversary at the same time and ended up drinking lovely bottles of champagne out of wine glasses not really what we wanted!!! Also the heating situation whilst it’s probably appreciated now it’s cold - the rooms were getting to 24c and unable to override as it’s obviously set externally. All these things are little and if rectified we would love to come back a few times next year. Thank you Evans family

  • "We had the most amazing stay at Villa 8."

Everything was perfect, the location was amazing, we could have sat and looked at the view all day, every day. The property was beautiful and had everything we needed. We can’t wait to return next year. A week just wasn’t long enough.

  • "Really superb property, beautifully furnished with high end fittings in unrivalled position."

We would love to return. Not recommended for anyone with walking disabilities as rather a lot of steps to negotiate with your luggage - we will keep coming while still fit enough! The only problem we had was with the very difficult to comprehend light switches- they drove us insane and we never managed to get the towel rails working! The electric blind decided not to go up on the last day so lost our last beautiful view of the estuary! So much for technology! It would have been useful to have had some right size bin bags for tilt up bin, a corkscrew for the wine ( luckily had champagne on first day before we could buy one) and a tray to take things to the balcony, plus eventually found the hidden cutlery drawer inside the crockery cupboard! Of course these were just minor problems and did not affect our wonderful stay. The rubbish cupboard outside was a problem as full of bluebottles and wasn’t emptied at all during our week and was full of previous weeks rubbish - does Salcombe not have weekly rubbish collections? It was very convenient to eat or have coffee at the Salcombe harbour hotel which is adjoining but the staircases joining were in a dire state with a rotting dead bird and old tissues, cobwebs and dark green stains everywhere- we asked at the hotel who was responsible for keeping this area clean and they didn’t seem to know even though it started on their outside deck area! The Salcombe Harbour hotel car park man was very attentive and helped us when we arrived - you have to leave your car keys with the hotel and they do move it occasionally but for most of the week it was in a very convenient position. We thoroughly recommend!

  • "My family and I enjoyed staying at the villa."

Love every corner of the villa. Great view from the living room and master bedroom. Although not very familiar with the heating system but customer service’s been very helpful. Received call back and help on how to use the the thermo statc. Would definitely recommend to friends and family, and will book again in summer time.

  • "Lovely position but challenging access particularly with luggage."

Needs a good sweep up outside. Comfortable beds. Lovely bathrooms but water not hot enough. Nice dining room. Kitchen saucepans have really seen better days. Lovely view from lounge but really uncomfortable furniture with insufficient room for everyone to sit. The heating had a mind of its own & quite why do the lights have to be so complicated ??

  • "The house was lovely and had everything we needed in it."

Perfect location to town and shops etc. views from the house were beautiful. Our only complaints were the house was way too hot and there didn’t seem to be anyway to control the underfloor heating from the property. The fire alarm was super sensitive and went off numerous times causing the safety shutter on the top floor level to come down which I absolutely understand, however, on one occasion that got stuck down and we had to call for help as we were trapped upstairs and the exit button wouldn’t work. I think the shutter needs to have some maintenance on it. For some families this could have been quite distressing. Luckily we had a phone upstairs and could call Coast & Country for help. Overall though we had a wonderful week.

If you throw a stone from the balcony it will land in the sea. Clean, comfortable and away from the busy areas, yet close to facilities. Four lovely bedrooms, and a large kitchen/dining/sitting area, plus a balcony that has a 180 degree view over the Salcombe estuary. A healthy half-hour’s walk from North Sands beach with the wonderful Winking Prawn eatery. I’ll be back! PW

  • "Parking is the only issue here, The location of the property and the Facilities are incredible but for the size of the property i."

E 4 bedrooms sleeping 8 it is unlikely 8 will arrive in one vehicle however we were a party of 4 which did not create a huge problem. Parking in the area is restricted especially during our visit because one of the carparks was closed and filled with tables & seating to accommodate an overflow from one of the pubs. apart from that a great break.

Thank you for taking the time to leave us your comments. We were sorry to read that you had some difficulty with the parking arrangements. We were pleased however, that it didn’t prove too large a problem during your stay and we very much hope to welcome you back to the area soon. Coast and Country Cottages on behalf of, Property Owner

  • "We had a fantastic time in Villa 8, Estura, Salcombe."

Very well equipped and comfortable property. Only downside was that there's not enough seating in the living area for 8 people. We moved the 2 bedroom armchairs up to the living area so that everyone had somewhere to sit in the evenings when we all gathered together to relax. Outstanding views from the estuary facing rooms and a very peaceful, tranquil location. We were very lucky with the weather but to be honest, Salcombe is beautiful no matter what's happening outside. The Coast and Country offices were also very helpful when we had a small issue with a smoke alarm (we burned the toast!).

Thank you kindly for leaving us your feedback. We were really pleased to read that the property was comfortable and provided you with everything you required during your stay. We were also pleased that our Salcombe office were able to assist you with the smoke alarm issue – we work hard to be on hand and help our guests should they require assistance during their stay. We very much look forward to welcoming you back to Salcombe, its stunning views and choice of amenities soon. Coast and Country Cottages on behalf of, Property Owner
