"Property was better than expected very clean —everything we needed could not of asked for more -easy walking distance to beach pubs restaurants -train 10 minute walk away so many places to visit - Torquay and Paignton 20 mins Newton Abbot 7 mins ferry from star cross to Exmouth was lovely -we enjoyed our week so much we booked for a second week ."

"Flat extremely clean and perfect for two but has some slight quirks which need sorting out."
The blinds in the bedroom and the lounge don’t fit the windows. They end about 4 inches from the bottom. In the bedroom the curtains are so flimsy that they too don’t do their work. This means that you can see into the bedroom and right onto the bed from the street outside even with the curtains closed. It’s the same in the lounge but that’s not as worrying. There is no room on the other side of the bed for a bedside table and the shelf provided was hanging off the wall. We did inform the owner/landlord/caretaker who took it away, leaving us with no shelf. The shower is quite old and could do with replacing and the shower head and holder don’t match so it’s tricky to adjust the position of the shower head. We had lovely welcome gifts which we really appreciated but I’d prefer money to be spent on the things mentioned above.

I responded to the damaged small shelf by immediately removing it for the remaining two nights of your stay and then replace it again after you had left, to minimise any disruption to your holiday. The opening comment on your review is: ‘Flat extremely clean’ and yet you have given us our lowest ever score of 50% for cleanliness which is rather disappointing, so I am not sure what else you would have us do than provide an extremely clean apartment! None of our guests this year have mentioned anything about the curtains which have been perfectly serviceable and are certainly not see through, especially when combined with the Venetian blinds even if they are a few inches above the window ledge. Again, no one has ever mentioned anything about the shower before, the new shower head is a recent replacement but it seemed to fit adequately before. The positive verbal feedback and thanks you gave when I came over to check the TV was working certainly matches the description you gave as: ‘perfect for two’ but unfortunately not your surprisingly different rating. We will continue with the ‘lovely welcome gifts’ as most guests really appreciate them as you did. Property Owner

"We have stayed in many many holidays cottages and Tony’s was about the best equipped if any we have come across ."
Everything thought of and provided for and everything working and in good order . Lovely soft towels and sheets and plenty of hot water . Garden really useful for our small dog . Tony left us lots of little touches like biscuits and milk and a bottle of wine which was a really nice gesture and much appreciated . Necessary to point out that on first arriving the cottage is in a slip road ( good parking) off of a very very busy main road . However once inside you really can not hear it at all . Quite extraordinary . A great place to stay and very handy for the town amd getting out and about .
It’s always great to have some more positive feedback from our guests, especially when it so complimentary! I did take a lot of time to put together the ingredients that I thought guests would appreciate if they were using accommodation such as our apartments and it’s reassuring to hear that they are fulfilling their purpose. The location is particularly good for guests with a dog as it’s right next to a park with great views over the estuary and only a few minutes walk from the beach. By choosing the best quality linen and towels we hoped to create a comfortable experience that makes the most of your stay with us. Additionally providing beach towels means that you can use for swimming or just relaxing on the sun beds in our sheltered small garden that seems to catch the sun all day. "We were made to feel very welcome, the owner left milk ,and other goodies in the fridge, which were delicious."
The flat was very cosy with good heating and hot water. My Husband found the walk in town town a little taxing as some of the walk is hilly although not far to the Blue Anchor which was a friendly stopping point .

"The flat was lovely, well decorated and warm the bed was really comfortable and having an extra TV in the bedroom was a bonus."
There was a park nearby to walk the dog and you could park in there for a small fee as there was limited parking outside the flat. We met the owner Tony and he was a lovely man and nothing was too much trouble for him also the welcome gifts were a nice touch as well. The only downside for us was the sofa, although a two seater it was small for us as we are of a larger build and the shower cubicle was a bit of a struggle for the same reason as the sofa, but that won't be in everyone's case.
Thank you for your positive feedback on our new venture. We are so pleased that you had a ‘warm and comfortable’ experience in flat one. The gas central heating throughout as well as the extra lounge heater makes it a warm venue at anytime of the year. Yes the location near the town centre can cause an occasional parking problem outside but as you found there is ample room just around the corner. Our other option for a stay upstairs has much larger furniture as it’s a much larger space, so perhaps you would like to try that next time. It’s got the same warmth, even more comfortable furniture and views over the river and harbour that other guests have enjoyed so much. Property Owner

"Tony was so helpful and went over and above, and we had a lovely break."
I can't recommend this place enough. Tony made us feel very welcome with scones, biscuits and wine. We stayed on for an extra week and he brought us more wine, scones and strawberries. The house was spotlessly clean and very comfortable with a lovely garden. We will definitely be returning. Thank you so much

The historic, seaside town of Teignmouth is situated in South Devon on the mouth of the Teign estuary and boasts a working harbour, sandy beach, Victorian pier, sailing club, diving centre and sea activity centre. The seaward side of the town is known as ‘the Den’ and has elegant Georgian buildings, a large public area with lawns, play areas, tennis courts, a bowling green, and a miniature lighthouse. On the opposite side of Teignmouth are fishing boats and beach huts, plus views of the village of Shaldon and the hills of Dartmoor can be seen.
