  • "As a returning guest to Quayside."

I think the improvements are brilliant. A fairly decent sized tv and wifi. I would 100% recommend this property to anyone. The new front door is beautiful, however, a blind or net curtain would make the cottage feel a bit more private, particularly when it gets dark. This is constructive NOT criticism, but the seating could be more accommodating, The cottage has sleeping for 4 people. however, if there were 4 adults then the current seating would be ridiculous. Perhaps consider an L shaped sofa? A food caddy would be very helpful - all the neighbours have one. A few more bits of info would also be helpful - there were instructions for the kettle and toaster but not the washing machine! We had a lovely time at the cottage and would like to say a big thank you to the lady/man in charge of change over for doing a brilliant job on check in day. This is a nice cottage in a stunning location - Book It!

  • "Our first impressions were not good."

On arrival the cul-de-sac looked unsightly and a mess. The enclosed courtyard was also a mess,we had to pick up rubbish, sweep up wash and clean the garden furniture before we could use it. Overall the cottage felt not very welcoming due to it's decor plus the parking was a nightmare but we did have a good time here.

  • "This is a lovely little property tucked away by the back beach."

Nestled between two pubs, you’d think it would be noisy but it’s not. The court yard can be a sun trap but watch out for the seagulls… Things were a little dusty and a slight feeling of damp on arrival but this was soon addressed. We did note that there were no recycle bins available. The neighbour told us that despite the owners best efforts they keep being taken. Might be worth storing them in the back? A guide might help for things like bin days (Wednesday). Parking within Teignbridge car parks has increased to £40 a week and it increases in April. It is also not valid for on street parking which is run by the county council. This is something to be aware of. Ring Go operate the parking meters. The back beach is lovely and the sea is a lot calmer, it is also where dogs can go, so if you’re not a fan beware. Finally, beware of seagulls, they can be aggressive and they are not adverse to stealing your food whilst it’s travel to your mouth. They love ice cream, sandwiches and chips. Luckily we were not caught out but saw this going on.

  • "Lovely cottage in a great location."

Extremely clean and nice decor throughout. Outside area needed some tlc. Also a little damp, so needed the electric fire switched on quite often, but not a problem. Would suggest either a larger sofa or an extra armchair as didn’t comfortably sit 4 adults. Would definitely book again.

  • "Lovely cottage, well presented and equipped."

Great location. The outside area needs quite a bit of TLC. We were not inclined to use it at all, which was a shame. Also the double bed is squeaky and really could do with a new mattress. Otherwise, perfect cottage and the welcome pack a nice touch.

  • "We enjoyed our stay and results above reflect that, however although Quayside is in a great situation being near all the shops/beaches etc it is rather shut away with very little day light."

The car parking was also a challenge, we could not get onto the site where we should have paid £30 for the week, therefore we paid on Ringo in two day slots which cost a similar amount. Perhaps Sykes could arrange the charges for future renters and add the charge to the cost of the cottage! Regards Jennifer Gardiner

  • "The house was cozy and clean."

Outside area needs some TLC as it felt neglected (dirty, weeds etc). Some lights/plants and a good power wash would do wonders. The box made up for the dog was a nice touch, in particular the treats. Toiletries could have been included in the price, in particular, toilet paper. DVD remote couldn’t be found, so likely need to get a replacement. Overall a great little cottage in a really good location.
