  • "Had a lovely stay at The Eastleigh, our third time."

Very clean and comfortable accommodation. Ideal location for looking out to sea. Many thanks for the welcome pack.

  • "This property is something of a mixed bag."

The good bits :- Property is well situated and the level access from the rear was helpful for some in our party. The property was clean and welcoming. Car Park was nearby. Balcony views are good to sit and watch the world go by but require careful negotiation of simple wooden steps. Seaton itself is not over-commercialised with a stone beach and a few amenities... but trying to get somewhere to eat on Sunday or Monday evening! Good swimming in the sea but there can be strong under-currents at times with a steep drop off so be careful. Plenty to do round and about. The bad bit :- We had a problem with noise from the above property. Both weeks with different people. It is unacceptable, every footstep is magnified like a drum and some people seem to want to walk about their apartments all evening! We expected road noise before we went due to it's central location but there was no mention of noise from above before we arrived and it was written into the visitor book several times, so must be known about. When we raised it with the local agents they seemed to also know about it too. It should be included in the property description, this is not a cheap apartment and this issue should be factored in when booking. I'm sure more could be done in the above apartment to inform visitors of the noise they create or put down some carpet! We also had to have someone out to fix the toilet the first day.

Thank you for your feedback. The owner is now adding thick rugs to the property above to address the noise comment. We thank you for bringing this to our attention and hope to welcome you back to the coast another time. Property Owner

  • "Stayed for 5 nights with two sets of elderly parents."

The flat is accessible via a ramp (as it states), it is two separate pieces of metal which you take up and down as you please. OK for me and husband to manage not so sure if we weren't there. Flat is lovely very spacious with a fabulous view. The front balcony isn't accessible unless you are fully able to negotiate small steps and a drop coming back in. The main bathroom shower is tricky to get in if you are elderly as the bath is so high There isn't a rail to hold on to to help access in and out, thereby all 6 of us used the en-suite shower, which again isn't a problem The hob is weak if you have more than two rings on the power seems to deplete on activation of the 3rd ring. The settees are OK, but not really enough seating for all 6 adults to sit at the same time comfortably. The beds are comfortable but the pillows are particularly hard, so take your own if you prefer a softer pillow. The car park is a short walk away, and can get very busy so don't rely on always getting a space. The long stay car park is near Tesco and after a few attempts finally got a week booked in. (We took two cars as travelling with mobility aids) The apartment itself is really lovely with great decor and a lovely feel to it. My review is only to highlight accessibility issues for other elderly/frail guests.

  • "We have a fabulous stay in Seaton."

The weather was unkind but the apartment more than made up for it. Loads to do in the surrounding area too. Loved the Beer Quarry tour and Lyme Regis for all the dinosaur lovers in your life will love exploring the fossil shops and searching the beaches for fossils.

  • "A modern airy apartment which had everything we needed."

Lovely little balcony but step up could have been more substantial. The apartment was perfect and could not have been better. However it was very frustrating that we were only allocated 1 parking permit! There were 3 couples meeting up. It had no allocated parking and the car park was £10 for 24 hours! Therefore it added considerably to the holiday cost.

It's great to hear that you had an enjoyable time. The apartment does only supply one parking permit, apologies if this wasn't clear on the travel information. The Lyme Bay Team Property Owner

  • "Perfect place for 3 generations to spend time together."

Accessibility for 92 year old was important and the flat worked well in that respect. The loading space was useful (and essential) and car parking easy. Ideal location with lots to see from the window. Only issue was the rampaging child in the flat upstairs who was running up and down at 5am every morning. There’s not much the owners of the Eastleigh can do about this, I know, but perhaps mention the noise disturbance to the owner of the flat upstairs. Rugs or carpet might help. Otherwise everything was great.

Thank you for your kind comments, we're so pleased that you had a great holiday. The apartment above is also a holiday let, and it sounds like someone was super excited to be on holiday. The Lyme Bay Team Property Owner

  • "Wow! What a gem."

Loved the apartment and everything about it. The location was absolutely perfect for exploring east Devon etc. Word of caution - Seaton is closed on Monday nights, nothing (apart from the local kebab shop) open whatsoever. The welcome pack was a nice touch. If I have a criticism, it was the lack of sugar or instant coffee, and the coffee table had spilt wine & glass marks on it, however, this is constrictive. Fantastic place!

We're so pleased to hear that you loved the apartment. Apologies if we missed the wine stain on the coffee table. The Welcome Hamper provides fresh coffee, tea, milk and some local treats, and we will pass on your comments to the supplier for consideration. We do hope that you choose to stay again with us. • "We stayed at the property for over two weeks and really enjoyed our time in the apartment."

It was only the two of us and we found it to be spacious, very clean and comfortable. However, In order to cook our meals we had to buy new frying pans locally as the two provided were in such a bad condition. The non stick coatings were heavily scratched and worn on both pans and therefore not safe at all to cook with. There is no shelf anywhere to be found in the master en-suite. It is impossible to put any toiletries anywhere. There is no cupboard or shelf anywhere in any of the bathrooms. Not even a shower rack for shampoo etc. but a shelf somewhere near the hand basin for shaving and toothbrush etc was sorely missed..Very inconvenient on a long stay. Lastly, a butter dish and a bread bin would been handy too. Please note this is constructive criticism to which you can choose to act on or not. I do want to reaffirm that overall we enjoyed our stay at Eastleigh. Thank you.

  • "Great location and views."

Spotless and very comfortable . Great shared kitchen, dining, living space so sociable family together was easy. Good communication with agent pre arrival. My only suggestion is 1) salad bowl 2) we ran out of hot water after all 6 of us had a shower post swim. Couldn’t see easily how to switch boiler on for a top up. Wasn’t really an issue but maybe for future guests.
