  • "If you’re looking for somewhere to stay in Beer and you come across this accommodation, then look no further."

Garlands is a beautiful house in a perfect location with stunning views and within easy walking distance of the picturesque village of Beer. Not for the infirm though …. every which way is steep! There are three lovely cottages available for rent, clean and comfortable, perfect for a short getaway. The owners are welcoming and friendly as is their lovely dog Louis! They even arranged good weather for us! Believe me, you won’t find anywhere better! Book now

  • "The Boatshed is a wonderful holiday apartment, part of a large, beautiful house and gorgeous garden with views out over the hills of Beer and the sea."

It is a comfortable, quiet (important!), and restful place with close access to the village and beyond by car or, if one is ambitious, by foot. The owners are welcoming and helpful, and we thoroughly enjoyed our stay.

Thankyou for your feedback. We feel very lucky to live in such a beautiful village. So pleased you enjoyed your stay. Property Owner

  • "We had a lovely week at The Boat Shed."

Some lovely views. Great position to explore Devon and Dorset. Very comfortable, and a big garden the owners let you share with them and other guests of the other apartments. Although we seemed to be only ones on holiday that seemed to make use of it. Will book to stay again.

Thank you so much for your feedback. We very much appreciate it and look forward to seeing you again soon. Property Owner

  • "Beautiful spot to stay with our two dogs."

Lovely clean accommodation with a comfortable, large bed. The kitchen was well equipped for any self catering and there was a welcome scone and cream tea on our arrival. The house is mid-way between Beer (10mins) and Seaton (15mins) walk. There's a large supermarket in Seaton, 5 mins drive if you need provisions and a small village shop in Beer if you need emergency milk. Plenty of pubs in the local area and most shops and pubs are dog friendly. We walked to Branscombe which was very pleasant and had a lovely meal and drink by the beach, followed by a stroll back through the countryside. Thoroughly recommended

  • "What a beautiful place to stay."

We’ve stayed at The Garlands Beer twice now. The cottage is immaculately clean, cosy yet modern and all the facilities that are needed are there. Everything is done to a high standard. We were greeted by the hosts who were extremely friendly & helpful. The view from their garden (which is beautifully kept ) are breathtaking. Just a short walk into the picturesque town of Beer. We will definitely return there’s so much to visit or as we did on occasion just relax in the cottage & beautiful grounds.

  • "The Boat Shed is a beautifully-presented cottage and is exceptionally clean."

There is access to a private patio and a large garden. It is set in lovely countryside within a 10-minute walk of the pretty village of Beer. The hosts are always extremely helpful; this is definitely worth a stay.

  • "The house was generally very warm and comfortable, and it was very clean when we arrived."

We enjoyed the views from the lounge and master bedroom, despite the somewhat grey and damp weather! The kitchen was well stocked with pots and pans etc, and the welcome cream tea was lovely! The king size bed was extremely comfortable but the two single beds were quite soft so our parents found their backs aching a bit by the end of the week. It would be helpful to include in the property description that the lounge is upstairs - this is not currently in the listing (I re-checked) and we may have thought twice about booking had we known, as we travelled with elderly parents who struggle with stairs. The sofa was quite low and soft which again, made it difficult for the older members of our party. There were plenty of items in the property to provide entertainment (both indoor and outdoor) which is throughtful, plus a folder full of detailed local information. The TV and washing machine were quite old - they did work but we are used more modern (and have experienced better in other holiday cottages) but overall, this house provided what we needed for an early break away.

Dear Guest Thank you for taking the time to feedback. We do appreciate it and are always looking to improve. We will amend our information to state the lounge is upstairs and consider your other comments too! Much appreciated Lesley and Justin Property Owner

The Boat Shed is distinctive and to a high standard- great! Owners couldn't have been more helpful- one of the radiators was repaired within the day- thank you! Thank you too for the welcome wine and chocs- much appreciated.

  • "Firstly the location was perfect for us, but unfortunately the property was extremely damp."

Also not very clean. Only some of the radiators worked correctly as they appear to need bleeding. We had to leave earlier than expected as our son was extremely I'll which turned out he has pneumonia.

Dear guest , We are sorry you did not enjoy your stay with us. it was a very wet week and this may have contributed to the feeling of the cottage being damp. We have had a very busy season and no one has complained about dampness or level of cleanliness in the cottages. Indeed, the level of cleanliness has been praised. You are correct, that the radiator in the downstairs bedroom was not working properly. We were alerted to this whilst away, a new valve was fitted the very same day and is now working perfectly. We do hope your son is feeling better and am sorry that you had to leave early to visit him. Best wishes Lesley and Justin Property Owner

Seaton 1.5 miles; Lyme Regis 9 miles; Sidmouth 9.5 miles; Exeter 25 miles.

Beer is a small picturesque fishing village on the south Devon coast near Seaton. The shingle beach is very sheltered, backed by limestone cliffs and was once fertile smuggling territory, plus contraband was hidden in nearby caves, which are now a popular tourist attraction. There are a good range of shops, friendly cafes, restaurants and pubs in Beer, plus just outside the village is the popular Pecorama Gardens, which are perched on the hill overlooking Lyme Bay.
