  • "We arrived in second week of December for a pre-Christmas break."

What a wonderful choice of venue, a welcome by David to take us through the necessaries, Marion we met later. Both making us feel welcome and were not obtrusive, the welcome pack was indeed welcome, and both had a good knowledge of the surrounding area which we utilised. My wife and I are keen walkers and David's knowledge proved very useful to us. The cottage is comfortable, clean and well laid out, perfect for the two of us. We couldn't wish for a more peaceful and enjoyable break.

A very warm welcome from David. The cottage was very comfortable, cosy, peaceful, and very clean. Not forgetting the goodies on arrival. The cottage was very equipped, with everything you need. We always choose places, that don’t aloud pets and smokers in their properties. So this was ideal for us.. Thank you for a lovely stay. David and Marion.

We sat outside and watched the farm go about it's business. The sun coming up on a morning was the perfect start to the day. The owners we always on hand for any information you need. All the little extras in the cottage make it a home from home. It's cosy and very clean. I could not recommend this cottage enough. A perfect base for your stay in Devon. Thank you so much

  • "I was very happy with Stagsholt where I stayed for 7 nights in May."

David gave me a warm welcome and explained all the "stuff you need to know" clearly and it transpired we had a little history in common. A welcome pack of eggs, milk, tea, coffee, biscuits and wine helped me to settle in. A vase of wild flowers in the bedroom was a delightful touch. The shower cubicle was large and bathroom newly refurbed. The only thing missing was a shelf and some hooks in the cubicle for my products. Bed was comfy and lots oh hangers in the wardrobe, its these little things that made it a place that i would love to go back to. The weather could not have been better and I spent some relaxing hours on the N Devon beaches, especially Instow, and on the top of Exmoor. I managed to catch up with several friends in the area and visited the farm where I spent my teenage years. I was delighted to find that the gardens were open that week so had a sentimental wander through the past. I would not hesitate to recommend this property to anyone that fancies a quiet, out of way location that is very comfortable and with hosts who were friendly and approachable. Thank you Marion and David.

We arrived to be welcomed by a vase of roses, a bottle of wine, milk & eggs. A very nice surprise. The cottage was peaceful and comfortable, with plenty of room for 2 people. It was nice, warm & cosy. We would definitely stay here again when we are needing to visit relatives in the area. Very rural location, long lanes to and from the cottage, but don't let this put you off it was wonderful views all round.

  • "Stagsholt Lodge has Everything you need for a comfortable stay."

Located along some of Devons prettiest lanes and surrounded by beautiful countryside, it is a very peaceful place. Despite being joined to the hosts home, you feel incredibly private and have your own garden space. We particularly enjoyed watching the pair of great spotted woodpeckers feeding from the bird table. On the last day of our holiday, whilst out on a walk, I unfortunately broke my ankle. As Soon as Marion was aware of this the next morning, she went above and beyond, to provide me with cushions and pillows, in order that I might have a comfortable ride home. We thoroughly enjoyed our week up to then and hope to return again one day. Thank you.

Plenty of little extras to start us off well. Owners available for help, advice and suggestions - but not at all intrusive. Tiverton closer, easier and quicker to get to than Sat Nav would suggest - but Stagsholt Lodge is still delightfully rural. A great location for a cosy, restful break. Highly recommended.

Stagsholt is in a gorgeous setting but difficult to find. The owners David and Marion are a lovely welcoming couple and supplied the cottage with lots of extras we didn't expect. The owners were next door and very friendly and helpful. To start us off some Eggs, tea, coffee, wine, milk etc were provided as an extra. David and Miriam were also helpful in providing advice on local places and recommending the beach at Combe Martin. The location on a farm seems remote but is central for a number of attractions and handy for walking on Exmoor while being restfully secluded. We had a delightful weeks break. Brian and maureen
