  • "Just got back from our stay at this lovely apartment, first time here, but we have stayed at another apartment in the block before."

It’s a very homely apartment, on the ground floor so excellent for off loading your luggage. Lounge, dining and kitchen on the top level and a WC, with two bedrooms downstairs, one en-suite. Everything is so tastefully decorated throughout and extremely comfortable. Lots of information in a folder which helps with all the heating instructions and oven etc. You still cannot access the potteries via Warfleet Road, the road still hasn’t been repaired, and means you have a good detour to get to the potteries down some tight country lanes. Counting down the days for our next holiday here in May,

Thank you for your review Lorraine, we look forward to welcoming you back in May! Andy & Natalie Property Owner

  • "This is an excellent place to base yourself, just on the outskirts of Dartmouth with a short stroll into town and none of the hassle of having to find parking."

The pottery was very comfortable and very quiet and we had a great time. Our only feedback was that our ensuite floor wasn’t cleaned very well, with hair on the floor and dusty tile edges that form the skirting, there was also a pair of pants left on the floor behind the bedroom chair, so it hadn’t been pulled out at change over as they would’ve been seen. We appreciate that at this time of year the cleaners must be under pressure to get around and get all the properties ready for the next guests. This bathroom is looking a little tired as the panelling is starting to warp and the flooring showing signs of wear. All the toilets in the apartment are set extremely low and so anyone with mobility problems would struggle, you definitely had to use those thighs to get up and down! All that being said we would book this apartment again as we did enjoy our stay.

Thank you for your comments Liane, We are glad you enjoyed your stay at 4 The Pottery. Your comments regarding the cleaning have been noted and actioned. The cleaning company we use are usually very good and this is not acceptable. I agree with your comments regarding the bathrooms and we intend to make some changes in the near future. We look forward to welcoming you back soon! Andy & Natalie Property Owner

  • "We stayed at 4 The Pottery with friends as Dartmouth was a halfway meeting point for us."

The apartment is beautifully finished and well equipped, one of the best we have stayed in. It is a 15 minute walk to the town but what a lovely walk it is. We used the Castle Ferry to return one day which was a lovely experience. All in all cannot recommend highly enough

Very well equipped both clean and comfortable. Everything you need. The airfryer was a great extra.(Maybe a nespresso machine on the breakfast bar would be good addition

  • "Our stay at No 4 The Pottery was extremely comfortable, convenient for the town and walks to the castle and beyond and, above all, very well-equipped and spotless."

The property particulars are accurate and the owners have given thought to storage throughout the property and to the current-day extras such as an air fryer, which added to the kitchen facilities. We had a wonderful stay and would like to go back as soon as possible.

Thank you Debbie. We are glad you found the apartment to your liking and look forward to welcoming you back soon! Andy and Natalie Property Owner

  • "A beautifully presented and very comfortable Apartment providing plenty of well maintained and good sized accommodation."

There was nothing extra that was needed, it was great having the Juliet balcony which allowed the lovely fresh air into the Apartment, the bed was also very comfy. The only comment I would make for future holiday makers is the walking distance into Dartmouth. We were lead to believe that it was "just a short 12 minute walk" into the town. This may be true if one is very fit and agile, whilst we are very capable of , and enjoy a good walk, it was steep in a couple of places and took us approx 30 minutes each way. Apart from the walk we thoroughly enjoyed our stay at 4 The Pottery - many thanks.

Thank you Carol, we are glad you enjoyed your stay. You are right, 12 minutes into Dartmouth is challenging! I have amended this on the welcome letter. Look forward to welcoming you back again. Andy and Natalie Property Owner

  • "I had a lovely stay at 4 the Pottery with my dog."

It’s a lovely renovation which has left lots of the original building . It’s a bit quirky but has excellent facilities. The location makes a perfect base to leave the car and walk. The building is personal to me as my mother worked there in the late 40s. Thank you to Andy for the welcome message and gift. It’s a nice personal touch.

Thank you Karren, so glad you enjoyed your stay. Look forward to welcoming you back in the future. Andy and Natalie Property Owner

  • "We had an amazing stay for our 25th wedding anniversary."

The location is great for walking to the centre of Dartmouth to do some shopping and the Art Centre, and still be in the quiet area. The slipway is next to the building to walk the dog and go to the Castle and more woodland walks. We did drive up to Blackpool Sands - lovely pebble beach with a cafe. This property has parking which is a treat in Dartmouth. The property had everything we needed for cooking, beds were very comfortable. Overall a great property!

Thank you for your feedback Diana, we are so glad you enjoyed your stay and will be very pleased to welcome you back in the future. There is so much to explore! Andy and Natalie Property Owner

  • "Very nice cosy apartment with excellent facilities and easy walking distance to Dartmouth Town centre."

Fantastic local walks from apartment without the need to use your car. Our only criticism is the tightness of the parking spaces (we had paint chipped on two doors of our car which we believe happened whilst parked at the apartment) there is additional parking within the location which is blocked off and unused, perhaps this area could be opened up, therefore, each apartments parking space could be made slightly wider making it easier for people to access their vehicles without squeezing at the risk of damaging other peoples cars. Especially as alot of cars are now SUV's.

Thank you for your feedback. We are glad you enjoyed your stay at the apartment and the many of the local walks and we have taken on board your comments regarding the car parking. Each of the spaces are the same width and can comfortably fit an average family car. There are also visitor spaces that may be more suitable depending on how neighbouring cars have parked. We usually unload everything before parking up to make disembarking as easy as possible. We have always classed ourselves as fortunate to have a parking space as many homes in Dartmouth are without one. We hope this does not deter you from staying at the apartment in the future. A two minute walk to the estuary with fabulous views and easy access for a morning swim or fishing. A lovely welcome gift for us and even cupcakes for the dogs. Thoroughly enjoyed our stay, will hopefully be back again soon.

The property

Discover this pet-friendly duplex apartment, situated within a beautiful Grade II listed landmark, close to the bustling town of Dartmouth and just a short walk to the Warfleet Creek.

Set over the ground and lower ground-floor of the building and boasting two plush king-size bedrooms, as well as its perfect position for exploring the coast, 4 The Pottery is perfect for couples, groups of friends and families to come together to enjoy this part of the South Hams area of South Devon.

The historical building has a colourful history, having once been a paper mill, a bakery, an outstanding brewery and The Dartmouth Pottery; today, however, it has been sympathetically transformed with incredible attention to detail and has successfully retained many architectural features to provide an exceptional holiday accommodation.

Enter into the apartment and be welcomed in by the open-plan living room, where the exposed beams and original stone wall compliment the contemporary furnishings and mod cons, ensuring a relaxing stay.

The kitchen is complete with elegant white units that house quality-cooking appliances, allowing you to self-cater for yourself for the duration of your stay, and the central island unit makes a great spot of meal preparation.

Once dinner is served, regroup with your loved ones at the dining table and tuck in, before toasting to a memorable holiday or whiling away the evening whilst playing board games brought from home.

Afterwards, settle down on the sofa to flick through the channels of the Smart TV or snuggle up on the armchair with a cup of tea in hand.

Take the stairs down to find the master suite, which comes complete with a king-size bed, a wardrobe and its own en-suite, whilst the second bedroom also benefits from a king-size bed and access to the family bathroom, featuring a shower over bath.

Look forward to exploring your surroundings further as you take a leisurely stroll into the centre of Dartmouth, which is home to a cluster of places to eat and drink, as well as shops and attractions including Dartmouth Museum and the well-kept Royal Avenue Gardens.

Discover the town’s interesting past by making time to visit the nearby imposing Dartmouth Castle or wander around the 16th century fortress of Bayard's Cove Fort.

For the best views, don your walking shoes and hike along the South West Coast Path to Brownstone Battery and Berry Head National Nature Reserve, or venture to the Dartmoor National Park, which is home to Hingston Hill Stone Circle and the Norsworthy Bridge.

Attractions that families will enjoy include the Woodlands Family Theme Park, Torquay's Dinosaur World, Paignton Zoo Environmental Park and Go Ape Haldon, all located within driving distance of the apartment.

Summer afternoons can be spent on the sandy shores of Sugary Cove Beach or travelling to the seaside town of Torquay for a memorable beach day out with breath-taking views.

4 The Pottery promises to be a wonderful break for the whole family.
