  • "One of the best cottages we've stayed in."

Clean, spacious and in good order. The kitchen was well equipped which is often not the case in other places we've stayed. Quiet location with parking, a bonus in Dartmouth.

Many thanks for your positive feedback, so glad you enjoyed your stay! Property Owner

  • "A modern three storey, three bedroom, mid terrace town house, furnished in a clean “Scandinavian” style."

Initial impressions on first entering the property were good, but less so on closer inspection and use. Cleanliness left something to be desired, as there was dust on all the glass tables, and the floor tiles in the kitchen and downstairs cloakroom had dirt stuck on them. We would also have wanted to thoroughly clean the oven and microwave before use should we have chosen to use them. Some features also proved to be more “designer” than properly functional. Do not want to be too critical, as property has many merits for a short stay - its location outside Dartmouth, but within walking distance of the town and its amenities, own allocated parking space where car can be left. Full feedback for the owners benefit has been noted in “Guest Book” at the property, most of which was relayed to the agent when the keys were returned. We would also suggest that they might like to get the underfloor heating checked by an electrician, as the floor in the dining area seemed to stay hot at all times, no matter what we did to the controller. There is also a warning message showing on one of the controllers at the top of the stairs, indicating that maximum setting is too high.

Thanks for your helpful comments. We will certainly speak with the cleaning team and make checks to the heating system as well as leaving user instructions. So glad you enjoyed being in Warfleet - it really does offer the best views walking into town! Property Owner

  • "Cottage has everything you could possibly need for a great holiday."

Quiet, close to town - whilst being close to the castle and lovely cove. I’ve rebooked but would like to know how to switch heating off as it kept coming back on. Whilst comfortable when chilly, would have liked it not to come on in bedroom in the morning. Thanks ☺️

Thanks for your positive feedback- so glad you loved Dartmouth and the cottage and will be making a return! Your comments about the heating are so helpful and we will add instructions to the visitor manual so changes can be made during your stay. Property Owner

  • "We enjoyed our stay, the property was lovely and clean!"

The location was perfect and it was great to park with ease when we arrived. We were impressed that measures had been put in place for families like mine, with built in stairgates. We will definately book this property again. The only minor things we noticed to maybe change are the glass tables in the living room, with having young kids will felt a little uneasy and also the size of the table reducing leg room. We also felt that a larger bin in the kitchen is needed, we filled the small one straight away. My mom who was in the top bedroom also mentioned about having a lamp in that room, as she likes to read her book and didnt want to put the big light on as my daughter shared the room and was trying to sleep. Again these are only minor things, this did not affect our stay. We really enjoyed our first stay in Dartmouth, thank you x

Thanks so much for your feedback and really helpful comments - we will take these into account and make changes. Glad you enjoyed your first visit and we look forward to welcoming you back again. Property Owner

  • "We were so lucky with the weather!"

We found everything we needed- thank you. I have stocked up with tea towels, washing up liquid etc. but you are supplied with everything, even tea of 3 varieties. Can I recommend Rockfish, Café Alf Resco, Bayard’s Cove Inn, Andrina, The Crab Sandwich Shop, The Salcombe Dairy…. too many to mention! The walk into town is the best- we loved parking here. We just drove to greenway and Coleton Fishacre. Fabulous.

  • "The cottage was generally well equipped although we were disappointed to note that no additional bin liners were provided for the kitchen waste bin and there was no bin liner for the food waste and unfortunately we found that the bin leaked when we were clearing up to leave."

The bathroom facilities were fine but the en suite shower in the main bedroom has a large amount of unsightly mould. The king sized bed was very comfortable. Storage and hanging space was good. However the Venetian blinds need cleaning - there was a layer of dust on the slats. We chose 6 Pottery Cottages because the photos on the website showed a light and airy through room. The reality is that the living room and dining area without the lights on were gloomy and lacked natural light. On checking the website photos towards the end of our stay we noticed that the photographs were taken with the ceiling lights on which gives a false impression.

Thanks so much for your valuable feedback which we have shared with our cleaning team and fully addressed including a resealing of the shower unit. It's really important for us to receive and take action where necessary to feedback provided. Thank you again Property Owner

  • "Lovely property, for us an excellent location as loved leaving the car at the property all week and walked into Dartmouth every day (about 15 mins)."

Warfleet creek so pretty and loved watching people kayaking and swimming. Property had all the amenities you could wish for and liked the informative pack so we could read how to use the TV remotes! As always would recommend Rockfish restaurant and takeaway.

  • "All was really good and comfortable."

The only thing that would have helped would have been a key safe or an additional key on days when we decided to do separate activities.

Thanks for your positive feedback and helpful comments re the second key -it’s a great idea and I will follow up with Coast and Country. Property Owner

  • "The property was perfect, it was very clean and comfortable, and in a great position with a car parking spot."

This is very important in Dartmouth as parking can be very difficult. The house was within a mile or so of the town so was in a pleasant strolling distance meaning we didn’t have to use our car much at all. This was our first visit to Dartmouth and we were very Impressed with its quirky shops, galleries, pubs, and general history. With regards to the property, a teapot would have been a nice addition. Also a folder with general instructions on how everything worked would have been useful, hob, washing machine,WiFi code, tv (3 remotes) and information on waste disposal/recycling (we brought ours home for recycling as Coast & Country didn’t have a clue when we queried it) A most enjoyable holiday in an idyllic location, we will definitely visit again.

We are so glad you loved the property, and we totally agree with you, the location is idyllic. Thank you so much for you feedback, it really helps ensure we meet our guests’ needs and expectations as best we can. A teapot is on its way and we will make sure general instructions reflect your points and are readily available. Thank you again and we hope you decide to come back. Sarah Property Owner

About the location

DARTMOUTH

Totnes 12 miles.

Dartmouth lies on the banks of the beautiful River Dart estuary in the popular and picturesque South Hams area of South Devon. Located within an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty and close to the coast, Dartmouth is one of the most popular tourist destinations in Devon. It offers a stunning waterfront, ancient narrow streets lined with boutique shops, restaurants and art galleries plus many local events such as the annual Dart Music Festival and the Port of Dartmouth Royal Regatta, along with the Dartmouth Food Festival held every October. There are many interesting cycling and walking routes around Dartmouth, including the South West Coast Path, the Dart Valley Trail and plenty of quiet country lanes. A trip on the Dartmouth Steam Railway through picturesque countryside to Paignton is a must, and so is a boat trip across to Kingswear and on to Brixham, a pretty little harbour town. For those seeking some beach activities, there is a wide choice in the South Hams area such as Blue Flag Award winner Blackpool Sands, and Slapton Sands, both extremely popular and just a stone's throw from Dartmouth. A relaxing location in South Devon.
