"Thanks Sykes holidays and Judy for a wonderful stay."

"We loved the cottage and the location was perfect BUT the cottage suffers from a serious damp issue (highlighted by a previous review in June)."
The kitchen cupboards smelt damp and musty and we had to move all the plates and dishes and wash them before use and then leave them out which cluttered the small kitchen. Also we came down every morning to find snail/slug trails all over the floor and worktops so again a clean up was required before we could start our day. Another issue we had was whilst we were out on the Tuesday the owner took it upon herself to go into the property without informing us first to put the rubbish bins out for the following day, we were going to do this as per instructions. Apart from the above issues we would have been happy to book this cottage again in the future.
Thank you for taking the time to leave your feedback, and we are pleased to hear you loved the cottage. We have investigated further and can confirm, we have not found any evidence of damp in the kitchen. Apologies for not advising you beforehand about the bin removal, as we thought it helpful to take out the bins as the dustmen usually arrive very early in the morning the next day, and the big bin has to be put in a bit of a strange place. In the future we will leave this for our guests to manage. We look forward to welcoming you back Property Owner

"There is no parking space outside the property as it says in the book in the cottage, we did park in the council car park as stated, we just thought the cottage was not very clean and some of the kitchen units smelt damp , over all it just felt a bit grubby and could do with a bit of a upgrade."

"Amazing stay, would really recommend!"

"The cottage was lovely and close to the town and the seafront."
Nice coffee shop on the front and both the chippie and Indian restaurant were worth it. The difficulty lies in the parking, spaces are limited at the front of the cottage - this was unclear to us when we booked. After a 4.5-hour drive, the last thing you want is to search for somewhere to leave the car. It all turned out ok in the end as the car park across the road was easily accessible and not too expensive. Overall we had a good stay
Thank you for taking the time to leave your feedback. We're pleased to hear you had a good stay at the cottage. It is mentioned in the listing that roadside parking is available on a first-come, first-served basis. We also provide all guests with information about the location of the nearest car park before their arrival. There are two car parks conveniently situated a couple of minutes' walk from Shipwrights Cottage. We're pleased to hear that it turned out well in the end and hope we can welcome you again. "The briefing needs to be fuller about parking."
For loading and unloading one may well have to park illegally on or near Parson St but I got away with one hour or so. The two council car parks are very handy for the able bodied and are policed 0900 to 1800 I think. The charges are Around £4.00 per day but CHECK
Thank you for taking the time to leave your feedback. We do provide all guests with information about the location of the nearest car parks before their arrival, these are a couple of minutes' walk from Shipwrights Cottage and very convenient, we're pleased to hear that you were able to park in them during your stay. We look forward to welcoming you again in the future. Property Owner

"We had a lovely stay in a lovely, cosy cottage, which was situated really well."
We were close to the beach, shops, train station and other areas such as Dawlish, Torquay, Exeter. The home owner was happily on hand if we needed anything and was most kind leaving us a basket of fresh bread and doughnuts. The home owner also left toys for our little one to use including a bucket and spade, which showed she had taken the time out to cater for us. We would stay again should we return to the area.

"A beautiful property in a fabulous location."
So close to everything you need in Teignmouth and an excellent base from which to explore that part of Devon. The cottage itself is really lovely, so beautifully renovated and with everything needed to self cater. Could do with a second small sofa or more comfy armchairs in the living room but the beds were great. The addition of fresh bread, milk, biscuits and doughnuts and already having tea bags at the house was a lovely and really welcoming addition. As was the dog bed, a lovely touch. A fantastic stay. Would definitely recommend.

"Had a fantastic week in this lovely little cottage."
Teignmouth is a lovely place especially around the harbour. Been to lots of other places around too. We got the ferry over to Shaldon which is a gorgeous village and also walked along the coastal path to Dawlish which was great. Brilliant stay.
