  • "Generally good, comfortable, clean and well provided."

Great wifi. Some notes for the owner: - lightbulbs need replacing with low-energy ones, some are missing altogether - we couldn't make subtitles work on the TV - info about recycling / rubbish would be useful - heating controller needs new batteries (I fitted one to make it just work) - most importantly the exterior woodwork needs some protection applied urgently to prevent deterioration

  • "We had a lovely week - a fantastic spot."

The lodge was clean and comfortable. Decor and fittings are showing their age a little.

1 Bad Bit its a long hill back up to get anything [ idea to supply some kind of trolly] Other than that one of our better stays away

Generally great facilities in the lodge except the fridge / freezer and to circuit was off on arrival but we resolved it . The tv signal was poor . The bar on site was good

  • "We had a fabulous stay at Tamar View Lodge."

It’s spacious, comfortable, clean and very well equipped. They have thought of everything you might need. The views are stunning and the restaurant and bar have delicious food available throughout the day so you don’t need to cook every night. The local area is stunning. We loved our stay- thank you.

Thanks so much for your lovely feedback. I’m so glad you had a good time, I hope you can come again. Property Owner

  • "We had a lovely relaxing holiday in this very comfortable lodge."

It was very clean and homely and we loved siting on the decking looking at the view. There were just a couple of very small things: There were quite a few light bulbs that needed replacing including the outside lights and the smaller sofa was quite uncomfortable but none of this distracted from our stay. The location is great, very quiet especially off season, which we wanted. The site is well maintained and the pub was really welcoming, dog friendly and the food was exceptional. It is worth noting there is no shop anyway within walking distance and although there is a co op in Millbrook it is a single track road to get there or 20 mins drive the long way, so bring some basics if arriving late. The other thing I wish we had known was that although the beach is right opposite the site the walk down to it is very very steep so not easy to do quickly or too often if you have a dog who is beach mad and wants to go to it at least twice a day!! The slightly easier path is within the MOD firing range so not accessible all the time. All in all we would highly recommend.

Thank you so much for your really useful feedback. I’ll sort out the lightbulbs as soon as possible. I will add details of the steep walk to the beach and the benefits of bringing some basics if arriving late. I’m so glad you enjoyed the location and views. Best wishes Property Owner

About the location

MILLBROOK

Whitsand Bay 1 mile; Plymouth 8 miles.

Set in a bowl of hills at the head of a tidal creek that leads to the Hamoaze, opposite the great naval city of Plymouth, Millbrook is located on the Rame Peninsula, "Cornwall's Forgotten Corner". Bounded by the Lynher and Tamar rivers, the Hamoaze and the sea, the area is deeply rural and designated as one of Outstanding Natural Beauty. The village has a good range of shops and pubs, while close by are the pretty coastal villages of Kingsand and Cawsand, from which a ferry will take you to Plymouth. Along the southern edges of the peninsula are miles of beautiful walks with glorious views of Rame Head. Just a mile south of Millbrook lies Whitsand Bay with its miles of uncrowded sandy RNLI patrolled beach and dramatic cliffs. A superb base for discovering the wild side of Cornwall.

Note: Leisure facilities, bar, and restaurant available on-site, Use of the swimming pool is limited by time slot and the maximum capacity is for 6 people, Guests will have to contact Whitsand Bay Fort Holiday Park directly to book the appointment and arrange for payment.
