"The complex and pool were beautiful but the cottage has bad damp in the children's bedroom meaning we had to have the windows open all the time as the smell was really strong."
Also the kitchen was poorly stocked ( missing utensils such as an egg cup and cheese grater.) The host however was very accommodating and welcoming.
Thank you for taking the time to complete your feedback. We are glad that you enjoyed your stay at the cottage. The damp issue in the children's bedroom has been dealt with. We are sorry that you weren't able to find an egg cup or cheese grater had we been made aware at the time of your stay about the missing items, we would have been more than happy to provide replacement items. We do hope that we might welcome you back to the property at a future date. Property Owner

"We've just returned from a lovely stay at Smugglers Cottage."
The cottage itself was just right for what we needed, and was in a great location to explore Cornwall. We loved the pool, nice and warm and with plenty of seating around it for the family to relax. Communication from the owners was great - they are friendly and on hand if you need them. Would definitely visit again!

"Excellent cottage with wonderful hosts"
-
"Cleanliness in general was okay, but don’t expect to have to wipe over all the work surfaces, table and under the toaster."
Cottage was comfortable, but was looking a little tired and cooker needed updating. Use of the field was great and views were amazing, but picnic tables badly needed replacing. 5:30 arrival time is much too late.

"The location is excellent, lovely grounds, lovely people."

"Unfortunately it was a very cold week in August and the holiday cottage didnt have heating (apart from the master bedroom) until the autumn."
The children struggled to sleep because they were cold and the duvets were thin. The bathroom was constantly wet because of the lack of heating too. Due to extra cleaning we couldnt check in until 5.30, but when we arrived at this time after travelling for 7 hours we were told our cottage wasnt ready, not the end of the world but disappointing for us as we wanted to get unpacked and start dinner. Very pleased about the washing machine and tumble dryer which I dont remember reading about on the website. Beautiful swimming pool and lovely, friendly owners. Welcomed with local biscuits and a bottle of wine and milk in the fridge which was a lovely surprise.

About the location
LOOE
Polperro 5 miles.
Looe is Cornwall’s second largest fishing port and hence there is always a lively maritime bustle around the quay area of East Looe, which is connected to the quieter West Looe by a seven arched 19th century bridge over the River Looe. You can also catch the river taxi between East and West Looe. East Looe has narrow cobbled streets, twisting alleyways and plenty of tourist shops, whilst West Looe has a lovely outlook across the harbour. Looe’s viewpoint, Banjo Pier, can be reached from the quay and is a great spot to watch the returning fishing trawlers and look across the bay to Looe Island, which can be walked to occasionally at very low tides. The sandy Looe beach adjoins the pier and is very popular with families because of its safe shallow swimming and vast expanse of sand. There is also a great rock pool area at Hannafore that children will love. West Looe has a Heritage Centre that recently opened in the Old Sardine Factory with a climbing wall and a cafe and the delightful Kilminorth Woods have way marked walks through the majestic oak wood, rich in plant, insect and bird life. Apart from beach activities in this part of south east Cornwall, there are many mining remains on Bodmin Moor and in the Tamar Valley and much of the mining landscape has World Heritage status. This area of Cornwall has inspired writers, such as Daphne du Maurier and much of Bodmin Moor has inspired legends linked with King Arthur. There is much to explore in this beautiful part of Cornwall.
