Property extremely well equiped, I would say probably the best we have stayed in, beds and lounge furniture very comfortable. Above all else very clean and well presented.. Great location, whilst in a very quiet village, in easy reach of supermarkets, local attractions and resorts. Have no hesitation in recommending this property and I am sure we will return.

  • "Swallows Barn is a beautiful place to stay in Devon."

The property was spotlessly clean and had all the amenities you could want. The open plan ground floor was spacious and featured a fully equipped kitchen including a dishwasher and microwave along with a full size integrated fridge freezer. The smart TV was very welcome including the owners Netflix. The barn featured a washing machine and tumble dryer ( we didn't use these), there was also a vacuum cleaner. The bedrooms were extremely spacious upstairs - both ensuite with good showers and lots of space which was very welcome. My bathroom made me feel like I was at a hotel. Lovely personal decorative touches all around the barn. The barn has been completed to a very high spec with great quality furniture and fittings. The enclosed garden was perfect for our little dog and the dedicated parking space was perfect. My family and I had a relaxing and very comfortable stay at Swallows Barn, I would definitely recommend to others and return with my own family. The only slight issue was the weak WiFi and limited phone reception, which is understandable given the rural setting, it didn't hinder our enjoyment though. Thank you Laurie for your warm hospitality, you were very helpful and welcoming.

Thankyou for the kind feedback couldn’t understand why you marked us down for comfort?? Property Owner

It is very well equipped from a tablecloth to Netflix to a set of washer-dryer. The owners live opposite, were very helpful, and they gave us a warm welcome (those ginger cookies finished in minutes!). The location is perfect especially in the winter as we did not want to travel far to explore the area, 20 mins to Torquay, 25 mins to Dartmouth. It's located in a rural location in the middle of cow farming village, but only 3 mins drive to Food Warehouse or Lidl. You get to listen to cows' gentle moans in the morning. I did my jog a few times and took me 10 mins on different routes to the riverbank and to the millpond. Despite the weather, we have had a lovely and relaxing time.

The accommodation is spacious both upstairs and downstairs and furnished to a high standard. The location is excellent in all respects and we will definitely return in the future. The house itself is very spacious, with a big dining table, comfortable sofa seating for six and plenty of room for everyone (there were five in our party), the bedrooms are all roomy, the two upstairs are very large with excellent en suites, the smaller downstairs bedroom is big enough. We received a very warm welcome from Laurie, there were some welcome goodies including a lovely cake awaiting us. From the cottage Brixham is about 15 minutes' drive, Broadsands 8 minutes and Totnes only about 15 minutes away. Ideal location to get anywhere in the English Riviera quickly. The roads into Waddeton are narrow with passing places but visibility is good, posing no difficulty. Will definitely be booking again.

The barn is beautiful, comfortable and well-equipped. The location is great, it really feels remote- next door to a farm with lambs (great in Feb when we visited!) yet about 1/2 mile away are 2 small retail parks on the edge of town with Costa, Greggs, Lidl, Aldi, Sainsbury’s, Pets at Home, so everything we needed was easy to access. We spent our mornings on Broadsands beach with the dog and the afternoons exploring Brixham, Cockington Country Park, and Dartmouth. The barn was spacious and warm, so perfect for drying out our outdoors clothes! We’ve booked with Sykes numerous times before and we’ve never been disappointed. We’d like to return with a larger group and book Swift barn as well, all rooms are en-suite, the 2 upstairs rooms are huge, the downstairs bedroom is smaller with 2 single beds but more than enough room. The hosts were welcoming but not intrusive. Delicious lemon drizzle cake! Wished we had tried crabbing at Stoke Gabriel, so that’s one for next time.
