• "The photographs and description were accurate and it was clean and tidy on entry."

  The wifi and live TV reception were good and the wifi was easily able to support streaming via the TV apps. The beds were comfortable and the neighbours were quiet. The kitchen was well equipped and there was nothing that was obviously lacking for our self catering needs. The close proximity of one of the car parks and the pub next door was not a problem with noise. The automatic barrier at the entrance to the residence car park was not working during our visit but there was never any difficulty with accessing the dedicated parking spaces. There was one evening (Friday night) when it was a a little noisy at the the pub in the entertainment area on the way to the beach which was hosting a disco evening but it all finished around 10.30 to 11 without disturbing our sleep. The shower over the bath was adequate and there was plenty of hot water but I cannot comment on the heating since it was the height of summer when we visited. The directions and arrival instructions were a little confusing since it depends on which direction you drive along Golf Links Terrace. The instructions for the key box and entry were excellent and unloading was easy because the car was in front of the entrance door. One set of stairs to sleeping area and two sets to the living area. It was located very close to a number of places to drink, eat or take-out food. In addition there were 3 convenience stores within a very short walk ( Tesco, Spar and Londis ) for self catering. There was also a large Tesco across the river on the outskirts of Bideford. There was a magnificent view from the living area of the sea (or the car park and car to the rear). There was easy access to the beach and walks in either direction along the coast. All in all a great property for a short let.

• "Had an absolutely fantastic holiday in this fabulous apartment."

  The views from the balconies were to die for and even had a couple of sunsets. Very comfortable and well equipped, I thought the bed was a bit hard on first getting in, but slept like a log it was so comfortable. Communication was great and we had a message early to say it was ready so even better! Westward Ho! is lovely with lots of places to eat. Highly recommend the Rock Pool café for breakfast, lovely friendly staff too. The Pig and Olive do amazing pizzas too! Had a brilliant time and will hopefully be back x

  Literally sitting on your own balcony, yards away from the sea, could not ask for better. Everything you could want on your doorstep, what’s not to like?. We were sad to go home, we had such a great time. • "Wow! What an amazing apartment."

  Fabulous location overlooking the sea and steps away from lovely restaurants, cafes and shops. Sitting out on one of the three balconies listening to the sea was just glorious. The Lookout was probably the best apartment we have ever stayed in. It was absolutely spotless and the owners have thought of everything. We didn’t cook as there were too many restaurants to try but the kitchen was fully equipped with plenty of everything. Cleaning supplies, dishwasher tablets etc and the milk and biscuits left were much appreciated after arriving late after a very long journey. Beautiful bedding and an abundance of towels. I really can’t fault it- it was perfect! Thank you to the lovely owners - great communication and we could tell how much the property is loved and cared for. We really didn’t want to leave and can’t wait to come back .

  Very well equipped apartment. Nice to have new/good quality cooking utensils and crockery. Dishwasher and washing machine also very welcome. Bed very comfortable. Hard to fault the place and very disappointed to have to leave.

  It was well appointed and relaxing with comfortable furniture and spotlessly clean. Kitchen was well equipped. Only a short walk to supermarkets and a selection of places to eat and drink. Great communication from the owner too.

  Spacious and well appointed, the property had a warm and welcoming feel. Our only concern was that there were no stairgates but we appreciate that these would detract from the fabulous aesthetic. We made the most of the position, getting down to the sea, if sometimes only for a paddle, every day. Our son thinks all homes should have that view

• "Wow, what a place!"

  We had booked for last Christmas but due to lockdown were unable to go, so have been waiting 18 months to stay, and well worth the wait!! We stayed for a week over the Christmas period. The actual property is beautiful. It's location is perfect with pub's and restaurants literally next door! The views from the lounge and bedroom were glorious across the sea. The owners are really kind and friendly and had left us a card and bottle of wine, which was a lovely touch. I cannot recommend a stay here enough. It was spotlessly clean and had everything that we needed - plus some! We really didn't want to leave! We will be staying again.

• "The apartment was very clean, there was plenty of equipment, everything we needed."

  It was warm and comfortable, and the view was great. We went in the winter because we like watching rough seas, and this was the perfect location for that! Westward Ho! is a super place, not too commercial but plenty of places to eat and drink and within easy driving distance to many interesting areas. We had a thoroughly enjoyable week, thanks!!

  Should get 10 out of 10 for EVERYTHING, sadly the main bedroom mattress was really poor! (Didn’t use the other room so cannot comment on them) However, we still had a fantastic break and would love to return, soon! Thank you.

  Ideal Location Lovely Place The Stairs Are A Bit Much By Day 2 The Hot Water System Realy Does Need Looking At The Lady Already Knows Because On Second Day ( SAT ) Morning I Rang Her And She Came With Straight Away She Knew What To Do Straight Away She Said If It Happens Again Wait Until Boiler Cools Down And Press Reset Button On Boiler After The 4th Day If You Shower Early And Get In First Your Laughing The Others Then Wait There Turn

  Thank you for taking the time to leave your feedback. We have discussed this with the owners of The Lookout and their response is as follows: We are sorry our guests had a problem with the flow of hot water during their stay. The property has a gas combi-boiler, it is checked & tested (heating & hot water) at every changeover to ensure it is in working order and this was the case before our guests arrived. We include water & heating in our information sheet with the advice that the hot tap/s should be turned on slowly to start, to allow the 'flow' to come up to temperature, the flow can then be increased. As responsible owners, the boiler is regularly serviced and a laminated copy of the operating instructions is in the boiler cupboard. We have made ourselves familiar with any faults that can be cleared by us i.e. water pressure. There is an electric shower in the second bathroom which operates independently of the boiler system. It would be helpful if we could be made aware of any problems, as they arise or as soon as possible, to allow, if necessary, a repair to be organised. We are pleased to hear that you were happy with the place and location. Property Owner

  The cleanliness, facilities are second to none, we absolutely love this property and were really sorry to leave, despite the rather wet weather we had all week. The views are to die for even when it's raining. If you want a luxurious home from home break then this is definitely for you. You will find everything and more that you need here, enjoy as we did.

• "Floor to ceiling windows allowed stunning views of the sea."

  However there was no option of screening in the lounge making it virtually impossible to watch television in the late afternoon/early evening sunshine. There are no opening windows so doors had to be left open which is harder to control. The internet was dire and could not support a zoom chat. Had the weather been bad this would have been frustrating. We would recommend the property despite the above. It was smart and well-equipped. The weather was glorious and we spent hours watching the waves.

  Thank you for your feedback. We are happy to hear you enjoyed The Lookout and you have been able to enjoy the lovely weather and amazing views. The Lookout does have a unique design and the floor-to-ceiling windows are a key point of it. Due to the particular architecture the owners have to follow a uniform look on the inside so they had to opt for venetian blinds for some windows and some with no covering. The television in the lounge can be rotated to help with the glare and the one in the bedroom does have venetian blinds on the windows and direct light can be masked. The owners are already looking into a system that can hold the doors open for an optimal ventilation and will install it as soon as possible. For the Wi-Fi the owner is in contact the the internet provider but North Devon is usually serviced with a basic internet. They are already improving several areas with better infrastructure and new cabling to allow super fast internet but it is a process that requires time. We hope you will visit The Lookout again in the future and will enjoy more of North Devon. Property Owner
