  • "A really delightful property - far more comfortable than expected."

Lots of lovely touches like the scones and cream when we arrived, the lovely towels, and much warmer than we expected. We would definitely recommend and will come back when the weather is brighter

  • "This place was better than expected, quaint and charming."

I was surprised that the out house was pleasant, probably my only worry about staying here. Have already recommended this place to a few people I know would love this.

The Wagon rocked all the boxes for our visit while doing the bear experience at WildWood Trust

  • "We had a really wonderful stay at this beautifully restored wagon."

It was definitely a romantic and memorable experience. So quiet and away from the hustle and bustle of life. A great place to unwind. The owners Nicki and Ben have thought of everything. It was quite windy one night and the wagon hardly moved it is tied down so well. We saw a family of deer including a stunning stag in the field. Also a white owl sitting on one of the posts. I loved laying on the bed with the windows open watching the birds in the hedge. We spent a night round the fire pit. The sky was littered with stars having no light pollution there. We slept so well here. They had left us a welcome bottle of wine from their own vine yard which was superb. The wagon is well situated with Ottery St Mary, Sidmouth, Branscombe, Beer and the Beer caves all not far. There is a wonderful ARK pottery just down the road. I’m so glad we went there. Some wonderful pieces of pottery for sale at quite reasonable prices. I would definitely love to come back and stay here again. NOTE: I would just like to say if you’re not a fan of really tight long narrow roads. Avoid Fire Beacon Lane. We drove down it on our first day. After that we always went the Sidmouth Road way which is much better.

The owners were very responsive when we had an issue running out of gas and the issue was quickly resolved. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and would recommend to anyone looking to stay in this area!

  • "I had a wonderful week stay at The Wagon and feel reinvigorated and raring to go again - a real cure for burnout!"

Everything is so well thought out and - despite mostly terrible weather - the wagon was always cosy inside and with plenty of solar power available. A lovely bottle of home-produced wine was provided too! I couldn't fault what Nicki and Ben have produced one bit. This is one I would come back to!

  • "This was an incredible stay."

I was previously in the travel industry for 11 years and this by far is the best "glamping" experience that I have had. Just enough off the grid so that you can enjoy the quiet and complete privacy, but at least cellphone reception, if you want it. I spent a week here with my dog for some R&R and we were both very comfortable. Everything you could need was there and the hosts Ben & Nicki were lovely and I even bought some of their lovely Solaris wine. You can see that there is great attention to detail and I am still impressed with what they have created here. Great bed, enough space to unwind and cook and it is also lovely for dogs. Great location as you can get to the ocean (various options) by car in a short drive, and lovely farm shops (also various options) to buy some treats/snacks/meat/eggs etc., within walking distance and there was also a restaurant, lovely hikes and more shops in the village (about 5 min drive). I am already planning my return next year. Thanks Nicki & Ben :) Adéle xx

  • "One of the most beautiful places we have stayed."

Wonderfully relaxing! Lots to see in and around the area. Welcomed with card, flowers and a complimentary bottle of luscious local wine! So relaxing we both read a book and neither of us had picked one up for years! Ben and Nicki have smashed it! Perfect rural retreat. Oh and our dog Reggie loved it too!

  • "The wagon was unbelievable."

You can see the love and thought that has been put into every aspect of it, making the holiday experience amazing. We especially loved the setting, so peaceful, relaxing and isolated (but in a good way) and not far from Sidmouth and other areas of interest. On arrival we we're delighted when we saw that the wagon had flowers, a note from the owners, wine and a pint of milk waiting for us. It's these little touches from the owners that make such a difference and made us feel special. The owners themselves were wonderful and eager to help with anything we needed and much thought had been put into the information pack, including some fantastic places to visit and eat at. This is a gem of a place and we will be coming back soon

  • "We had the most perfect stay here."

The view was beautiful and we loved the privacy. Our dog wandered around freely without a care in the world. The wagon itself is a work of art. The craftsmanship and attention to detail is very impressive. All the facilities you need are catered for and the bed was so comfortable. I wish we could have stayed longer but we will definitely return.

Set in an idyllic part of Devon with the most beautiful views and wildlife around. Very peaceful and great place to get some headspace. Amentities close by for anything needed. Lots to do around the area. Accommodation was very well equipped. Literally had everything you could think of. Maybe could do with a little oil for cooking but otherwise all considered. Very warm and comfortable whilst there and all facilities well looked after. We had an issue with the shower being a bit too hot and Nicki and Ben came out and dealt with it straight away, no bother. Very pleased we chose this accommodation and would love to come and stay again!
