  • "Lovely cottage, close to a friendly village pub ( 10 minutes walk)."

It's position for the main attractions ( chedder, wooky, wells , Glastonbury etc )was perfect. The owner Alan was a really pleasant bloke.

  • "We had a great stay here, very clean and the basic needed for a holiday cottage."

It’s a shame there wasn’t more character inside, pictures on the walls, up to date info on the area to hand. It sounds strange for a holiday but we needed an iron, which they didn’t have or a hair dryer so remember that if you stay. The bed was very firm and took some getting used to and it was too short for us. The bottle of milk, shloer and teas etc were much appreciated. We didn’t see the owners at all. overall it was a great stay and would recommend this property

It was Clean, Comfy and Cosy and well equipped with everything that you would need. There is a convenient parking space right outside the property, which was really helpful when unloading and loading luggage. Set in a quiet location and close to local pubs, restaurants and supermarkets. The owner, Alan was very friendly and helpful. This cottage was perfect for a couple and we would highly recommend it and we would certainly stay again. Stuart and Angela from Dover.

  • "Well !!!"

what a few days, when we got there there was no sign telling us where the cottage was, so we followed the lane to the bottom, nothing. In turning aroud in a lady's gateway the car got damaged, we eventually found it by driving into the farmyard. A sign on the gateway would have helped. The cottage itself was very good but a couple of points, 1 there is nothing in the bathroom to put or hang things on, 2 the outside was really scruffy and run down. We have used you many times but afraid we will not be using Sykes again. No sign of the hosts at all.

What a pleasure to stay in such a lovely well maintained cottage, with every amenity at your disposal. It has truly been well thought out to make a holiday special. 15 minutes walk away is the village with an amazing 12th Century church, two pubs serving good food, and even a fish shop. Most places you'd like to visit are within 20 minutes to an hour away, so it's ideally placed for doing the touristy -bit. We liked it so much we've booked to go back this year. We would highly recommend this holiday venue. Jeremy & Jackie from Halifax.

The lovely hospitality touches of fresh cut daffodils, tea, coffee and milk being there on our arrival made us feel even more welcome. Loved the peace and tranquility of the farm, and haven’t slept so well for a longtime. We would definitely recommend The Old Cowshed to friends, family and return ourselves one day.

It was so peaceful, we enjoyed having a little walk to see the cow's and sheep in the field. We had a little problem with the TV but it was put right very quickly by the owner, very nice gentleman. The only thing I would say is take a travel iron and a fan with you especially in the hot weather as these are not provided but I am sure if you ask the owner might be able to supply these, luckily I had both with me. If you want peace and quiet in a cosy cottage then I would highly recommend The old cow shed. 10/10 .

  • "Excellent location just outside Weston ideally suited as a base for a week on the North Somerset coastline and inland to the Mendips."

The Old Cow Shed is a separate building on a working farm so as long as you don't mind the occasional rumble of a passing tractor or the sound of cows or sheep in the background it's a great location. It's comfortable and very well equipped (some of the best kitchen knives I've ever found at a property) with excellent wifi connection. The owner is on hand if you need anything (I didn't) but very unobtrusive.

The owners are delightful and unobtrusively helpful. We couldn't give it 5 stars, because we needed to make a lot of calls and the mobile reception. (on 02) was non existent, but Alan (the farmer-owner) plans to put in a device to overcome this. In all other respects, it is first class.

Great Wifi reception, rural but close to shops, pubs, restaurants, the coast and Mendip Hills. It is well equipped, spotlessly clean, and good quality furnishings and fittings have been used throughout. We found it to be extremely comfortable during our stay. Very conveniently located for Weston, Bristol, Clevedon, Axbridge, Wells, and many other places. Would recommend The Old Cowshed without reservation. The only very minor practical improvements if I were being really picky, would be some hooks on the bedroom/bathroom doors, and a couple more mirrors. Thank you for a lovely weeks holiday.

Fittings, decoration, kitchen equipment was done to a high standard. Setting of cow shed was very peaceful and quiet. Owners were lovely and friendly and very helpful. Central to Bath etc. But the roads can be quite scary!!! However we expected a fridge freezer but only got a fridge with freezer compartment and the fridge was very small. The sofa in the lounge is also small and not great for 2 people. There are 2 pubs but only open after 4.00. We had a lovely break away and it was very relaxing and quiet.
