Such a peaceful position in the heart of a lovely village. We all slept so well! Fantastic footpaths for walks right from the door. This is a fab cottage

  • "A wonderful cottage in a delightfully quiet village."

The cottage had all the amenities required for a home away from home stay. After a cold & wet dog walk the log burner offers fantastic heat & comfort.

  • "The cottage exceeded are expectations - clean- well maintained - good information pack."

It’s perfectly set up for dogs with nice touches like a dog stair guard - and you have a footpath up into the hills running right past the enclosed garden. The village of Barrington is beautiful, great for walking and with a pub that cooks possibly the best Sunday lunch in the West. By far the best Sykes Cottage we have stayed in - would give it 6 stars if I could.

What a lovely review, thank you so much. I’m so glad you enjoyed the cottage and the village. Property Owner

  • "Lovely calming cottage beautifully presented."

Such comfy beds and superb shower. Location is excellent for trips to Lyme Regis. Local pub very welcoming and large supermarket in Ilminster. It needs to have an iron available and it would have been good to know the recycling collection day - we just missed it! Parking is adequate for a small car only although there is always space on the lane.

Thank you for the feedback, always good to hear what people like and where I can improve Property Owner

  • "Had a lovely stay at Bonnings Cottage."

Very clean and tidy. Garden was lovely but could do with 5 chairs for sitting outside instead of 2 as the cottage is for 5 people. Television needs to be put on the shelf so that everyone can watch the television. It didn't bother us as we didn't watch it but others might.Parking is tight and had to be careful that you didn't scratch the bottom of your car but it does mention the parking in the description. Be careful of other nosy neighbours who assume that any car parked in the lane belongs to the cottage. We had an incident of someone reporting us to the owner when, in fact, it was a visitor to another property. We had parked in the road as advised. It was sorted but beware that some people do not like holidaymakers. Jennifer, the owner, was lovely about it all. Would use this cottage again if we wanted to visit the area. Pub in the village was expensive but lovely food. Barrington Court was easy to walk to and our elderly Cocker Spaniel enjoyed his stay there too.

  • "Lovely cottage, well equipped and comfortable and good communication from the owner."

The village is very pretty with a good foody pub. There are plenty of footpaths for walks, the dog had a great time. Liked the hose near the front door to hose the mud of the dog. Our only niggle is that the parking space is quite small (cars up to 4.5mtrs) and difficult to manoeuvre in because of the stone wall. This isn't made clear in the listing and we only found out when we got the booking details. If you have a large car, as we do, it won't fit and you have to resort to street parking. The street is pretty narrow and we have already had our car damaged at another property in similar circunstances which is why we seek properties with off street parking. Just be aware.

I'm glad you enjoyed your stay at the cottage and exploring the village. I have asked Sykes to make the parking situation clearer, I certainly don't want anyone having a negative surprise! Thank you for your feedback. Property Owner

  • "Cottage beautifully presented, very well equipped and everything thought of, even down to spare toiletries if we needed them."

Many lovely touches including gorgeous flower displays and tasty treats for humans and dogs alike. Great location with stunning views and walks closeby as well as easy access to the major roads to visit larger towns. Private garden catches all the sunshine and would love to visit in the winter and get cosy in front of the log burner.
