"Lovely place to stay, well equipped and great views."
We loved it so much last year that when it became available again this year we booked it again.

"Totally thrilled with the Beautiful home that Irene and Geoff kindly let out as a holiday home."
We had a lovely week there starting 27th August with my daughter and her family. My daughter sadly fractured and tore igiments in her Ankle just before our holiday, so had a bit of difficulty with the steps but was able to relax and enjoy the beautiful views in comfort. The house is extremely well kept and has everything you could possible want and at a very high standard. We loved it and didn't want to leave. Thank you

"Fabulous property with great facilities."
Stunning views, beach within a short walk. Lovely quaint area and handy location to get to surrounding areas.

"We had a wonderful time- loved our stay."
We forgot an umbrella which we had to buy to save my 87 year old mother from heavy rain! If that could be sent we would appreciate it. We would love to return one day. Thank you

"What an amazing week we had with family in such a lovely property with views to die for."
All mod cons. clean and exceptional location, a small walk from the car to the property but not over daunting ...

"Stunning views and immaculately clean."
Such a relaxing house and garden with a lovely flow.

"Holiday cottage very comfortable, only issue(s): - cutlery draw in kitchen hidden / needs some label on pull out as not clear it is there * - downstairs shower very difficult to regulate good flow & reasonable temperature."
To get the pressure higher the hot tap has to be fully on [shower then to hot] * This is shown in the cottage handbook information but when you arrive and want a teaspoon don't expect to have to read a manual first

"What an incredible property."
I feel so lucky to have stumbled across it whilst panic searching a staycation (due to the pandemic). It is more money than I would usually pay for a holiday property but I took a chance that the views (whatever the weather), facilities and location of the house would end up feeling worth it - and it absolutely did. Beautiful finish to the house with a wow +++ kitchen-diner with panoramic views to Burton Bay and Hive Bay. There is a huge amount of room downstairs and a beautiful large and well-maintained garden. The kids enjoyed feeding the fish each day. Kitchen stocked with everything you could possibly think of and TVs aplenty in lovely bedrooms and living areas. Bathrooms excellent. The jewel in the crown is the decking area which is a totally luxurious place to unwind with a G&T each evening watching the sunset looking out to sea. This is also a beautiful area of the country. We explored Hive beach(with its fab cafe), Burton Beach, West Bay (paddle boarding on the river and sea), Chesil Beach, Weymouth. Abbotsbury, Portland Bill, Kimmeridge Bay, Eype, Sea Town and Golden Cap, Charmouth, Lyme Regis, Colmers Hill and the Symondbury estate, Beaminster, Leweston Hill. Lovely pubs in Burton Bradstock and lots of eateries very locally. Station Kitchen in West Bay fabulously quirky. Downhouse Farm cafe a wonderful find for cream teach or brunch. The potential sticky points with this property are the lack of pavement or footpath for 100 yards either side of the driveway, thus making walking from the property on a main road a bit hair raising (I would NOT attempt this in the dark at all) and the Freshwater Campsite situated between the house and Burton Beach (it’s a bit densely packed and luminous in the height of summer hols). However we were aware of this beforehand and adapted quickly. National Trust membership and the JustPark app v useful for all parking facilities we visited. I will miss our fabulous fortnight in this incredible property hugely. Thanks to the owners, Sykes and maintenance team for the opportunity to enjoy this piece of heaven.

"The property is located in a fabulous spot, with wonderful coastal views, but on a very busy road and overlooking a campsite."
We loved spending a special family holiday there. Everything was finished to a high standard in both the interior and exterior of the house. The bedrooms were adequate in size, and again finished well. It was nice to have 3 double bedrooms, though it was tight getting a “next-to-me” cot into any of them, for our 10 week old granddaughter. We did manage it in bedroom 2 with a little adjustment of the bedroom furniture. The kitchen and dining area were well stocked with crockery, glasses and other equipment, everything you needed for a fabulous holiday. Thank-you for sharing such a fabulous home with us.

"We ve just had a fabulous stay at Burton View."
The view is stunning , village close by and it is walkable to the beach. The house is extremely well equipped and a total home . The main living room / kitchen with those brilliant sliding doors is a great living space . The beds are all comfortable and it’s great having the second bathroom downstairs. The garden is great . The only thing I feel I should point out to future visitors is the approximation of the quite busy through road. When the windows are shut it disappears but we were lucky enough to have warm weather which warranted the windows being open at night . Those sleeping the bedroom on that side of the house we’re disturbed by the traffic. Perhaps a pen air cooling machine or fan could be provided in the bedrooms so that the windows don’t have to be opened at night in the hot weather. We all really loved this house and totally enjoyed our holiday Thank you .
