  • "The property was very clean, comfortable and well equipped with everything needed."

A peaceful setting within easy reach of many resorts. We would stay again and recommend to our friends.

  • "The property was very clean and comfortable."

This is the third one we have stayed in at Fernhill Heights and all good. There are lots of places to visit in the locality both by the sea and inland. One very small point, it was difficult to access the thermostat being situated behind the microwave (which we did not use). We had to put the heating on in the evenings as such a cold week.

  • "Thank you to Sue and Gordon for their wonderfully comfortable accomodation."

The bungalow is absolutely beautiful and while being cosy we all still managed to have our own space if we needed it. The decor was relaxing and pleasant and the accommodation had absolutely everything we needed for our stay. The welcome hamper was hugely appreciated as was the pint of milk in the fridge as our journey took much longer than anticipated and we hadn't managed to get to a shop before arriving after 9pm. The bungalow is in a perfect position to travel to other areas around, we visited Charmouth beach and paid to do a fossil hunt with the heritage centre, visited Tyneham village, Nothe fort, Weymouth and even took ourselves up to Watford to visit the Harry Potter Studio. We have had THE best holiday!!

  • "We had a lovely stay in Charmouth."

You are only a 5 min drive to Charmouth. I suggest going on the Charmouth Heritage site and booking a fossil walk; my daughter loved it and found so many! The cottage was well equipped and the beds super comfy. The shower was really powerful. The kitchen had everything you needed. The bench outside was a nice touch on a early sunny morning. Parking is really close too. Could not get the TV working properly and although there was mention of how to rectify this, we could not fathom it out so watched BBC IPlayer mostly. We booked the hotel pool and had it all to ourselves for an hour. I think the only thing I can think to mention is to possibly have a shower caddy within the shower. We had to put shampoo etc on the floor of the shower and unfortunately my mum who is quite unsteady could not bend down to get these so I had to be in the bathroom and hand her the shampoo etc.

  • "The double bed wants to be upgraded ."

It was too hard for my old bones and the duvet was too short for me , and I am only 5ft 10ins tall ! On the whole the cottage was very good and we enjoyed our stay.

  • "Serious problem on arrival due to defective door key and poor initial response from Sykes Cottages - left on hold for 20 minutes whilst "enquiries were made" but no response and had to ring again."

Light switch inside door covered by curtain and we did not know it was there for some time. Poor TV reception. Parking not ideal.

Thank you for your feedback. We are sorry to hear that you had difficulty contacting us. We do our very best to answer all calls in a timely manner during a busy check in. The owner has since replaced the TV completely. Lyme Regis and the surrounding areas are very busy with limited parking so one of the many benefits of this property is the near by car park. We hope you enjoyed the late summer sun during your stay. Property Owner

  • "Everything about the property was lovely."

The only thing was we were under the impression we might have been able to eat at the hotel or get take away meal from there but reading the info on the door was not the case especially as so far to go to get anything. But ate in more than usual so not a problem just not what we expected.
