    We pick places that stand out to us and have to say pear tree lodge was stunning. .clean .bed super comfy . Everything you need to make a Sunday lunch and more , trust me we made a roast . .owner very curious and communicated very well and most of all very friendly . Location stunning , through the owners garden surrounded by woods It was just pure peace and quiet and the dog loved it . Thank you Alex and Neal we will be recommending

    The accommodation is well presented, comfortable and suitable for a week exploring Somerset with down time at the Lodge. Alex and Neal were very welcoming hosts (providing the basics needed for tea and coffee and yummy home made millionaires shortbread!). We were given ideas for places to visit and dog walks which was helpful - plus Apollo and boys enjoyed visits from Molly!!

  • "We had a lovely peaceful break at this gorgeous property and can't wait to visit again."

    The porch area provides shelter enough to sit out side in almost any weather and we made the most of it. The cottage itself if nestled among a 40 years old Arboretum which is a treat in itself. Sipping a morning cuppa or afternoon tipple whilst listening to the symphony of birdsong coming from the surrounding trees was just sublime. Friendly and attentive hosts was the icing on the cake of this delightful place.

    Thank you Carol, we do feel so lucky to have inherited so many beautiful and rare trees. And, of course, with the trees comes wonderful birds - I hope you got to hear the cuckoo and the woodpeckers! We're looking forward to welcoming you back soon! Alex Property Owner

    It met all our expectations being well furnished and convenient to the local amenities. The millionaires shortbread left for us was very taste and a nice touch. The garden was lovely to look out onto from the cottage and made you feel away from it all. Alex and Neal were friendly and their border collie was adorable. I definitely recommend this cottage.

  • "Great place, they’ve thought of every little detail from kitchen utensils to games and more !"

    Very comfortable beds and sofa. We saw lots of wildlife, in the garden, and it is near some wildlife reserves where we saw herons nesting. Would definitely come back!!

    Nestled in nature you can sit on the deck and take it all in. There’s everything you need and Alex’s millionaire’s shortbread is to die for. Alex and Neal are wonderful hosts. The kids love the mezzanine where they sleep. We love Pear Tree Lodge, we hope to be back soon.

    ! Accommodation was perfect and the log burner made it very comfortable and warm. The eclectic decor is done really well and everything about the lodge is superb. The ancient market town of Langport lies at the heart of the Somerset levels, at the crossing point of the River Parrett, mid-way between the county town of Taunton and Yeovil. Its central location makes it a thriving hub for local villages and an ideal base to explore the surrounding area, as well as the Somerset Levels, one of England’s most unchanged Landscapes. The ancient beauty and diverse wildlife of the area makes it one of the landscapes that have inspired many artists and photographers as well as drawing visitors from all over the world. The surrounding countryside teeming with pretty villages and quiet country lanes with footpaths and cycle trails to explore the picturesque Somerset Levels.
