"Lovely house, well equipped and very homely."
In a great location with easy access to all of Lyme Regis.

"As ever we had a wonderful time."
We always appreciate the well equipped kitchen. The rooms are comfortable and have everything needed. The location is superb - be warned you won't bother getting your car once it is in the carpark and you will be fit by the end of your stay!

"We loved the location and the house was well-equipped and had a good layout for our family gathering."
My only criticism is that the trellising on the top garden is very flimsy and our children wanted to walk along the wall, as children do. Of course, we stopped them from doing that, but it would be better to have a safe barrier on a high wall in a family house. We are definitely intending to book again!

"The heating was an issue."
The top bedrooms and ground floor and bedroom were freezing. ( a damp patch on wall in top bedroom.) We Called someone out who said the previous tenants had tampered with the dial. So he corrected it. It was a bit warmer at night when temp dropped as he raised it from 18 - 20 The middle floor was very warm and it seems that’s where the thermostat is so although it’s warm there the rest of the house is very cold and not getting up to the set tempreture. The noise from the pub Friday and Saturday night was insane. Sat night it was a party which was until midnight! Plus people leaving the pub.The music was heard Thumping in the upstairs rooms. We couldn’t sleep . We were told we could not unload at the property when we arrived. In actual fact we could as many other people were unpacking and loading as well. The property was very clean and well furnished for large parties. I think to stay in warmer weather would be good if you don’t mind the pub noise. I also agree to have to strip the beds and leave by ten is pretty unfair. Most of family left Sunday and me and my husband left Monday. So we managed to strip the beds the night before. We could not have got everyone out by ten with 2 babies and 3 children plus 8 adults.
We do apologise that you experienced an issue with the heating, and are happy that our team were able to assist you quickly with it. As the property has double yellow lines on the road outside, and the road is narrow, we do not advise guests to unload vehicles. The property is situated in a small street with restaurants, shops, The Mill and a small pub. On occasion there may be noise from these facilities in the evenings. In order to ensure there is enough time to prepare the property for incoming guests we do set a departure time of 10 a.m. We ask guests (only if they are able to do so) to strip the beds on departure. We hope you enjoyed your time in Lyme Regis with your family. Property Owner

"Description not totally accurate."
The Ground floor bedroom was described as having an 'En Suite' which if did not. You had to exit that Bedroom to get ot the 'En Suite' which became used by other members of out party as a general bathroom. No lock on the door. House was lovely and clean and was located very close to all the amenities.
Having reviewed the floor plan we will revise the marketing accordingly. We do hope that you had a wonderful holiday. The Lyme Bay Team Property Owner

"Fantastic house in central Lyme Regis - easily the best equipped and appointed holiday rental we have ever had with comfy beds four great bathrooms and every piece of kitchen equipment you could possibly need."
Very close to all the lovely restaurants in Lyme and would highly recommend the Harbour inn, Town bakery and Millside all of which had fab food and great friendly service. We loved Mermaid house and will definitely be back!

"As ever a wonderful stay."
The redecoration and new oven have really brought Mermaid House back to 5 stars. Excellent response from maintenance when the smoke alarm failed, deafening us and the town when it wouldn't stop going off. Perfect for a large family gathering
The owner takes great pride in maintaining the property, so it's lovely to hear that the efforts are appreciated by a return guest. We are sorry about the issue with the smoke alarms, and are glad our team could assist you! The Lyme Bay Team Property Owner

"Dear Lyme Bay, I just wanted to report the following re our property (Mermaid House)."
1. The door handle on the upstairs rear bedroom is very loose and kept coming off. 2. The fridge / freezer was faulty and kept spontaneously defrosting then re-frosting. 3. The WiFi did not work properly. 4. The boiler kept breaking down but this was eventually fixed by one of your plumbers. It is a shame that this property let us down in so many ways, at £3,000 for a week you would expect everything to be in good working order. We are very longstanding customers but will now think twice before booking again with Lyme Bay Holidays. Regards, George Scott
Mermaid House is a very popular property as it accommodates a large family group. We are sorry to hear about the issues you experienced with the boiler, and hope that we were able to resolve this during your stay. We have organised for our team to investigate the other issues raised. It is unfortunate that you experienced a few issues during your stay, and we do hope that you will stay with us again in the future. The Lyme Bay Team Property Owner

"Loved the house and it’s location."
Perfect for a beach holiday with the family. Everything within easy reach. Sofas in the sitting room were well worn, a bit low, saggy and uncomfortable otherwise furnishings were of a good standard. Could have done with a few more toilet rolls! There were 9 of us staying for a week so soon ran out!
It's great to hear that your family enjoyed your holiday at Mermaid House. We will take a look at the sofas that you have mentioned as being saggy. The Lyme Bay Team Property Owner

"Wonderful property, well-equipped, very clean and comfortable."
-
"Excellent house that was very clean and well equipped and in a brilliant location."
Everything we needed for a lovely weekend break for an adult group. Couple of things to note for the owner- A couple of the lightbulbs did not work and the shower in the very top bathroom kept going hot and cold

"Lyme Bay staff excellent as always."
Mermaid house in good condition, recent painting obvious. As ever location is the strongpoint. Problem with central heating boiler - it won't stop! Plenty of hot water and heating not needed but boiler ran continuously, noisy in groung floor bedroom. Only way to stop it was to turn it off at the boiler itself. I think it needs the contols resetting but no instructions so we didn't touch it.

The beauty of the accommodation is the space is really flexible so when it comes to mealtimes you can choose from eating in the formal dining room or you might want something a bit more informal, in which case there is space to eat in the large kitchen/diner.
