  • "We liked the apartment very much, although the bath drain was partially blocked and needs clearing (we left a note to that effect so it can be fixed)."

what lets that apartment down is the management company and their communications. We had two problems which we reported: 1. I fell into a drain beside the neighbouring property (the charity shop) when I got out of the passenger side of the car to try to open the gate and cut and hurt my knee. I think you should contact the neighbours to get the drain covered properly before someone does themself more damage 2. The literature said the the codes to get into the property would be with the keys; they were not. we only gained access because of two kind neighbours, one to tell us the code for the main gate and the other the code for the entrance door to the building. without their help I don't know how we would have got in. I sent an email to report these problems and all I got was the instruction to use options 2 and 3. when I did this it said use option 4 which I did and that was useless as well - I got no answer and eventually got cut off. I was not able to speak to a person at any time, which is unacceptable I've had no suitable response to my two problems whatsoever. We also (like your other recent review) fell for the claim to have a sea view, which there isn't. I notice that claim is no longer on the website, so presumably you've taken that off, but you mislead us with it before you did. This is very poor service from Lyme Bay Holidays and Sykes Cottages. It gives the impression that once you've taken the money for the property booking you have no further interest in the customer. I strongly suggest that the apartment owners find a different management company as soon as possible.

I am sorry to hear this - when I wrote the description of the flat - it was never claimed that there was a sea view - so I was very surprised to hear that I will look into that. In addition I am very sorry that you have not had a response from the management company and I will contact them about this -also thank you for letting me know. Property Owner

  • "The initial listing is very misleading."

I though that my daughter and I had a Seaview. At £2200 I understood this was the case. I can put my hand up to not looking properly at the room whilst booking but the listing said Sea view! The appartment was very nice but the pillows in the double bedroom had an "odour"and upon investigation I found them to have yellowing under cases that weren't really pillow protectors and some of the pillows underneath had marks on them. For a "luxury" appartment I find this to be unacceptable. The plug in the main bathroom didn't work. My daughter went to have a bath, she is on the autism spectrum so routine is key to ensure her happiness and wellbeing but the bath wouldn't fill. The seal on the bath plug was perished and no longer did its function. The plug hole was absolutely filthy and full of hair! I rang and spoke to a gentleman first thing Saturday who assured it would be looked at. It was but it wasn't sorted until Thursday. A problem locating a seal for it apparently. This was the day before we were due to leave. Like I said before this was a very nice appartment but certainly not up to the standard of a " luxury" one. I am very disappointed as this cost a fortune just for me and my daughter to stay in. I wouldn't stay here again as the cleanliness was not up to standard. The bedding didn't even match. The welcome pack however was a really nice touch but I would have rather had the "luxury" appartment that I thought I had paid for.

  • "The kettle definitely needs replacing as mentioned in the comments book by a previous guest but apart from that it was perfect by far the best we have stayed in over the years."

The secure parking is a real bonus and the closeness to Lyme and the gardens above the Cobb. Ideally accepting pets would be very welcome as we would love to bring our dogs.

  • "Good location, great apartment and excellent parking."

Space is very generous. However place was filthy on arrival (have photos to back ALL this up). Oven top covered in grease, dust on surfaces, tables and floors. Also when we arrived we were greeted with a huge bag full of toilet roll and cleaning materials which makes me suspect cleaners were in a rush. Also kettle needs replacing as broken. Did speak to Bev from Lyme Bay Holidays who was great. All of the above notwithstanding we would stay here again, but for what we paid I expect basic cleanliness. Booked many times with Lyme Bay Holidays and this was first issue we’ve had. Just a shame on this occasion.

  • "Great property."

Have stayed in this complex before and love because it is central to everything with added bonus of private parking. The flat was clean, well furnished and really well equipped. Welcome pack was lovely. Some reviews say parking spaces are tight. We have a large car and had no problems at all! For constructive feedback would say replace the loo brush holder as it’s rusty and had its day. Maybe provide a pen for the visitor book.

  • "The underfloor heating was on in the bedroom during the day & overnight."

As the outside air temperature was already quite warm it made the temperature inside too warm especially in the bedroom making it difficult to sleep.

  • "Lovely apartment conveniently located very clean and well laid out."

Parking very convenient and not as limited on parking space size as listed. The bed we found uncomfortable for us as it is very firm. We really enjoyed our stay and thoroughly recommend.

  • "Its our third visit to this gated apartment complex as we find it modern and comfortable with parking in the middle of town a bonus."

Pleased to see the problems listed on our previous visit have been rectified but we had to provide a waste food bag again as no bin or bag provided.

  • "This is a great holiday property."

The key point is its in a gated community in the middle of Lyme Regis. So great for the Town Centre and beach with a designated parking spot. Second year we have been here. One small point is that the tap in the kitchen drips. This was reported 12 months ago so could have been fixed by now..!

Apologies if the kitchen tap has not been attended to - we have arranged for our maintenance team to take a look. The Lyme Bay Team Property Owner

  • "It is our 2nd time staying in this apartment and it offers modern facilities with parking in the centre of town."

However, there are a number of items needing attention. 1) the strip lighting over the kitchen area doesn’t work. 2) the Yale key for the garden gate on the spare set is not the correct one 3) it needs mentioning that the TV commercial channels are only watchable on HD i.e. 101, 102 etc 4) the entrance door needs considerable force to close and I am sure the banging is annoying to the neighbouring apartments. 5) there was no food recycling bags available 6) the other kitchen bins had biodegradable bags fitted and disintegrated consequently dumping all the waste in the bottom of the bins.7) disappointed that we had to provide basic kitchen items such as cling film, kitchen towel and kitchen foil. Otherwise it was a pleasant stay luckily having good weather

Thank you for your feedback. We will look into the maintenance issues that you have raised. We provide consumables for guests (toilet rolls, j-cloth, scourer, bing bags, washing-up liquid, dishwasher tablets, hand soap and anti-bacterial spray) but not items such as cling film. • "A decent flat which was fabulously located."

Warm, clean and well equipped with good facilities. As with so many holiday lets it could really do with a little bit of TLC e.g. a coat of paint. We had a small maintenance issue which Lyme Bay holidays attempted to resolve promptly. The secure parking is a bonus but the car park may be tight for some bigger cars if the flats are all occupied. It was lovely to be able to walk straight out of the back gate into Langmoor gardens (although it would be useful if the maintenance company could adjust the gate so it could be easily opened!)

  • "A lovely property, very clean and comfortable in an ideal position."

Only problem it was too hot in the bedroom and only a 13.5 tog duvet. Could have done with a dustpan and brush but apart from that we had everything we needed and had a wonderful holiday.

  • "This is a very nice apartment situated in the middle of the town so very convenient for everything."

It's within a gated area and there is ample space for a car although it should not be too large. The apartment was clean and tidy with everything you would need. A couple of minor maintenance issues included one of the dining chairs where the joints had come apart and looked as though that had happened a while ago and the kitchen tap with tended to drip for a while until it sealed itself...probably in need of a new washer. But these are minor issues that the holiday Company maintenance team should solve. We would recommend this apartment for couples and those with small families. Lyme Regis is a lovely town with plenty of places to eat and lots of interesting fossil shops. The dinosaur museum is well worth the visit. Overall, we had a great holiday even though the weather was little hit and miss.

Other than that it was excellent.
