  • "The cottage is in very good position for the shops and a lovely walk through the gardens to the beach."

The cottage is lovely and warm and well fitted out. It is very easy to carry your luggage from the car as it's close to the car park. The bed was a bit hard but would highly recommend the cottage.

  • "Brilliant holiday cottage on a really quaint historic road in Lyme."

The location is absolutely perfect, no need to use the car all week and great to have a parking permit. The cottage has everything you need and it feels like the owners use it as well as it has a real homey feel and brilliant to not feel like a rental. Warm and cosy in the evenings and every cooking utensil you could ever need, would definitely stay again.

  • "Absolutely lovely cottage, very well equipped, the wine and doggy treats were a very nice surprise."

Only little criticism, would be nice if there was a larger bin in the kitchen and more than one purple bin bag supplied ready for bin day.

Thank-you for your helpful feedback. Delighted you loved the cottage. Note taken on rubbish. Property Owner

We would definitely stay there again if we visited the area.

  • "Whyteleaf Cottage is an outstanding holiday cottage, contemporary and cosy inside, fully equipped with everything you could want and all in great condition."

Linen was immaculate, bed very comfortable, and the little garden is characterful and well presented. The cottage is in an ideal position, on a quiet lane just of the High Street, just a couple of minutes from all the amenities and a scenic short stroll to the bay and beach. We loved the coastline and the whole area, absolutely beautiful. Must also say a big thank you for the generous welcome pack which was lovely and much appreciated.

Thank-you for your lovely review. I’m really glad you loved the cottage and the location. September is a wonderful time of year here. We hope to see you again! Property Owner

  • "The property was in a fantastic location."

The property itself was smaller than in the photos but very comfortable especially the beds. The kitchen however was very small and not enough workspace when cooking meals. We really enjoyed are short break and the weather was kind too.

  • "Love the cottage and its location."

If I could change anything, I would have a larger TV at the property. The current one is very small and after a long day at the beach, it’s nice to watch a family film on TV.

  • "Our stay at Whiteleaf Cottage couldn’t have been better."

It is in a super central location in Lyme Regis and is a very well appointed property. Everything one could ask for in a holiday cottage is provided and both double beds are very comfortable. Contact prior to our stay with the owner regarding a pet, via the agent, was very pleasant. Unloading and loading at either end of our stay was easy. We enjoyed ourselves so much we have already booked the cottage for the same week in 2025.

Thank-you for your lovely review. I’m glad you felt at home in the cottage and had a great time in Lyme Regis. We look forward to your visit, same time next year. (Owner) Property Owner

Very comfortable beds with good quality bedding and pillows. Just a short walk through beautiful gardens to the dog friendly beach (subject to the tides) near the Cobb Would definitely recommend and would like to return!

  • "The Cottage is in an excellent position within Lyme Regis to easily walk to the High Street , the lovely Park nearby & the beach ."

We loved the town so much we’ve returned within 2 months of our last stay . It’s a delightful place ! If it’s available , there’s a small space beside the Church on the High St , to park & unload luggage , before taking it up the hill to Woodmead Car Park . We loved staying at Whiteleaf Cottage but it definitely needs a larger TV ! The New Year fireworks , The Duck Race & the “Lyme Lunge” ( where hundreds run into the sea in fancy dress !) was amazing & so much fun to watch ! We’ll be back !

  • "Cosy house in A1 location in one of the prettiest (and traffic free) streets in Lyme."

You can load and unload at the top of Broad Street at the end of the lane which is just a few metres from the property. The staircase is only guarded by a single rail so not ideal for small children. A bit overlooked at the back from no. 4 when that is occupied but was vacant on our visit. The microwave is integral to the cooker, so maybe slightly tricky to use. A small issue upon our arrival (a double locked front door with no key for second lock) was solved within 15 minutes by Lyme Bay Holidays. Great info folder. Listen out for the dawn chorus sung mainly by seagulls! Overall we enjoyed a very comfortable and pleasant stay and would definitely return.

  • "What an amazing cottage."

So well appointed, and had everything we could ever need. Lovely touches like dog treats and wine were most appreciated. The cottage is so lovely with a courtyard garden . Just a stones throw from the high street, and just a 5min walk to the beach . The car park is only a 5 min walk. We loved staying here and will most definitely be back.

Thank-you so much for your lovely review. I’m really glad you enjoyed your stay in the cottage and activities in Lyme Regis and that your dog had a great time too! We look forward to having you back! Property Owner

  • "I recently stayed at Whiteleaf Cottage in Lyme Regis and thought it was charming."

It is in a fantastic location and the cottage itself is beautifully decorated. It was so convenient to take the train from London and the bus directly to Lyme Regis, with the cottage only being 2 minutes walk away from the bus stop. Once there it is in walking distance to the beach and to lovely local restaurants and shops. I would highly recommend a stay in the cottage.

The property

Whiteleaf Cottage is a charming two-bedroom cottage located in a secluded pedestrian lane in the heart of Lyme Regis just a few paces from the town centre and seafront.

With its origins stretching back to Saxon times, Sherborne Lane is a mix of quaint and colourful period cottages of individual character and style.

The independent shops, restaurants and galleries are only a short walk away making this an ideal location from which to explore this historic and picturesque seaside town.

Bright and comfortably furnished with an open-plan living area, Whiteleaf Cottage makes a perfect choice for couples or small families at any time of the year.

The lounge with plush seating is perfect for relaxing after a day at the seaside area.

The kitchen is bright and well-equipped for preparing meals which can be enjoyed together around the dining table.

Step out from the kitchen to a rear courtyard garden with pretty shrubs and planting.

An additional, raised seating area is the perfect spot to enjoy a glass of something chilled.

Upstairs there are two double bedrooms.

One at the front of the property enjoys views over Sherborne Lane and Lyme Regis.

The second double is a more compact bedroom and has views over the garden at the rear with both bedrooms serviced by a bright and well thought out bathroom with bath which has a shower over. Just a few steps from the cottage is the town centre.

There's a Tesco Express open 7am - 11pm, coffee houses and unique shops selling local produce and gifts.

Food lovers will enjoy the great selection of eateries available.

Fine dining restaurants such as Toms, Lilac or The Oyster and Fish House are great options for a special treat.

Close by, is the old mill with its micobrewery, Spanish tapas restaurant and craft shops, while the many pubs serve a good selection of local food and beverages.

Lyme Regis seafront boasts a family friendly sandy beach with paddle boarding and other water sports for you to try.

Regular boat trips run from the famous Cobb harbour giving visitors a chance to view the dramatic Jurassic Coast from the sea or spot some of the marine life living in the waters.

When it comes to exploring the area, there is so much to see and do.

The South West coastal footpath is popular for walkers and takes in pretty fishing villages such as Seatown and Eype and rewards with breathtaking scenic views of the coast towards Chesil Beach and Portland on a clear day.

For day trips, why not head to the popular fishing village of Beer with its limestone cliffs and pretty beach where it is easy to lose a few hours sat in a deckchair watching the local fishermen hauling their catches ashore.

Or head to neighbouring Seaton, where you can hop on board and take a picturesque tram ride along the river Axe estuary through nature reserves to Colyford and Colyton.

For those looking to holiday in this beautiful part of Dorset, Whiteleaf Cottage is a wonderful choice.
