  • "Very comfortable cottage but as all older styled cottages if you are over 6ft 1 inch you will need a tin hat or duck under the beams if like me yo are anywhere between 5."

Ft and 5ft 11inches no problem it is a great place and very comfortable only one criticism is the TV matches the size of the cottage and I think it should be a bigger size otherwise all good

Thank you. Very glad that you liked the cottage. We will reflect on the size of the tv. Property Owner

Great place for walking out and easy access to the beach. Bus time tables just need updating for those getting away from driving for a bit.

  • "Beautiful cottage in a very pretty village with a lovely pub, The Three Horseshoes just a few doors down- the pub is very popular and the food was excellent."

Good sized garden with patio, table and chairs. Very quiet location. This is the archetypal country cottage, but with very spacious rooms throughout - very unusual for this type of accommodation. It was spotlessly clean.4 smiley faces rather than 5 for comfort and facilities as the gas log burner didn't work, though we tried a number of times (a few cold evenings even though it was 1st week in September!), the remote control for the TV didn't always work, and there was a problem with one of the blinds. (We left a note in the cottage advising them of these issues). This did not spoil our holiday as they were minor issues. A bowl of tea bags, sachets of coffee and sugar with some biscuits provided. If you are arriving on a Saturday, do take some milk, bread and other basics with you as the village shop (just a couple of doors down from the cottage) closes at 12.30 on Saturday. There is a shop at the local petrol station but be prepared to pay a premium for everyday items!! All in all a really lovely comfortable cottage in a great location!

Thank you for your kind comments. We are grateful to you for letting us know about the issues which arose during your stay. I am glad to say that the gas fire has been repaired, we have put new batteries in the tv remote control and the blind has been fixed. We hope that you will visit again and have a problem free stay. • "Really lovely stay."

We normally stay every year next door at Benjys, but this year opted for a change. We were there when the renovations were taking place on Lime cottage and the transformation is incredible. It has been styled beautifully but still keeps with the age of the house. We loved every minute and will definitely book again. We were really sad to be going home. We loved Lime cottage. Thank you.

  • "Absolutely lovely cottage, very clean and well maintained throughout."

Excellent location with great pubs and convenient shop right on the doorstep. Just a couple of issues, the loose carpet at the foot of the stairs was slippery and could benefit from some non slip material under it. The gas fired wood burner was not working, just showed an error message. The fire wasn’t too important on the week we stayed, but would have been an issue if it was colder. The heating worked great ! We would not hesitate to stay here again.

Thank you for your kind comments. We are glad that you enjoyed your stay. The gas fired wood burner is only 18 months old but needed a new valve. It is now working fine again. Thank you for pointing out the problem Property Owner

Village is very pretty, pub not even 1 minute walk away and beautiful coast walks on your doorstep. Would definitely recommend.

  • "Very clean, but thought a mirror in the bedroom would help blow drying hair, my wife ended up downstairs in the toilet where there was an electric so kettle close to a mirror."

Also no mention was made concerning the right of way in thr back garden for the neighbours. Finally there was no place to hang outside clothes near the front door.

Thank you for these useful comments and suggestions. Property Owner

  • "This was a lovely cottage in a beautiful village, with the village pub and shop a few doors away."

The cottage was well maintained and equipped . We enjoyed this beautiful part of Dorset. But sorry to say our whole holiday was spoiled when we arrive ar 4.45pm on the Friday to find the cottage unserviced, dirty linen on the bed, dirty towels in the bathroom, rubbish still in bins, and no cleaning done. Sykes did manage to send out cleaners in an hour later. Not our best experience.! We are still awaiting the compensation promised to us by Sykes. We have refrained from publishing this, but could do so on Tripadvisor later. We await your response Sykes.

  • "Lime Cottage is a lovely thatched, Grade 2 listed building set in the heart of Burton Bradstock."

The cottage was immaculately clean on arrival and fully equipped with everything that a family could need during their stay. The cottage is slightly ‘quirky’ owing to its age and that adds to the charm. There is a lovely, well-maintained garden to enjoy on warm sunny days and evenings. Sykes Cottages maintained regular contact, by email, before, during and after our visit and this helped ensure our stay was well-planned and stress free. We would love to return to Lime Cottage in the future and will have no hesitation in using Sykes Cottages again.

  • "We had a lovely stay at Lime Cottage."

The cottage is located in the heart of the village and is only a few steps from the post office and The Three Horsehoes pub. The garden is well maintained and in a sunny position. The interior of the cottage is lovely and appears to have been very recently refurbished to a high standard. We loved the warmth of the cottage and the gas log burner which made the cottage even more cosier in the evenings.

  • "A very well appointed and comfortable cottage."

The bed in the main bedroom was very comfortable. We enjoyed our 4 night stay and would certainly book again. Some observations: 1. The glass gas hob was covered in a cooking oil spillage 2. Some more microwaveable dishes and cups would be very useful as well as smaller roasting tins 3. The utility door was difficult to open and close 4. A full length mirror in the main bedroom near to a power point would be helpful

  • "Excellent property tastefully presented in olde worlde style with modern facilities."

One thought - hardly any coat hooks. It would be fairly easy to acquire some matt black iron ones in keeping with the general style and, we thought, place a few along the empty wall to the left of the dresser on the approach to the kitchen. Note: the looped chain controlling the blind over the back door detached itself from its coupling and we couldn’t get it back on.

Thank you for your valuable feedback, we will pass this on to the Owner and we will also look at the blind. We are pleased you loved the property and hope to welcome you back to Dorset soon. Property Owner

All great although the mattress and sofas weren't good for us in terms of comfort - we appreciate that this is a personal preference and may not be an issue for everyone. The village is great with walks from the door. Three Horseshoes pub is excellent but gets booked up, so suggest contacting them well before travel. Would stay again.

  • "Wonderful old cottage with a very homely feel."

For me the sofas weren’t comfortable at all though, they’re too small, but that’s a minor point and we managed. The rest of the cottage is lovely, with all the amenities you could need. Only thing I couldn’t find were any cutting boards for vegetables etc, but again this was a minor point. The bed is huge in the main bedroom and very comfortable, even though there is a slope in the room due to the age of the building, but this didn’t really affect sleep at all. The main bathroom is also huge, the bath is quite shallow, but with the roof slope above that does make some sense. Only thing I would suggest is moving the basket on the wall further down, as it does rather get in the way when sitting in the bath. In the small shower room, beware of the towel rail if it has been left on and then sit on the toilet. It’s very close, and gets very hot. Appreciate that it’s there to dry towels etc in there, but really would be better without. Location wise it’s excellent, with two very nice pubs very close, both of which serve very good food and have lovely staff. Hive beach is walkable if you’re able, but otherwise is a short drive, plenty of parking there and a lovely beach. Parking can be a little tricky at times, close to the cottage, due to the Three Horseshoes pub being very popular, some people also do park in the village to walk to Hive Beach, so just be prepared to have to park a little distance from the cottage on occasion. All in all we had a really lovely stay at Lime Cottage.

Lime Cottage is a charming, thatched home located in the Dorset village of Burton Bradstock, tucked away within an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty.

Lime Cottage, a delightful dwelling that can accommodate four people, is also close to the Jurassic Coastline and oozes style and charm, making it the ideal base for a group break to Devon.

Park up and head indoors to be welcomed by the living/dining area, replete with sofas, a Smart TV, a gas fire, exposed stonework, and original beams overhead; use this space to unwind after a day of exploration.

Prepare meals in the country-style kitchen, which is fully-equipped to ease your stay, before enjoying mealtimes indoors or outdoors in the rear garden, a suntrap during the warmer months.

Return indoors as the sun sets to unwind in one of the two bedrooms, which include a super-king-size and a twin, and both honour the house's historical roots with exposed beams throughout.

Awaken to a refreshing shower or bath, before heading into the village to fill up on necessities at the local convenience store and sample some delectable meal at The Three Horseshoes Pub.

Hive Beach lies down the coast, while West Bay Beach is close by and accessible through the Jurassic Coast walking track; for golf enthusiasts, the Bridport & West Dorset Golf Club is also nearby and well worth a visit.

Before continuing to Weymouth and its shoreline of attractions, including the Nothe Gardens, the RSPB Lodmoor, Weymouth Beach, and Alexandra Gardens, continue west to reach the Abbotsbury Subtropical Gardens with the swannery nearby, where you can also don your hiking boots and make the journey up to the ruins of Abbotsbury Castle.

Plan a trip to Lime Cottage with so much to see and do.
