  • "We enjoyed our stay this is the third time we have stayed at Kerridge."

It’s a very comfortable and well appointed cottage the village is very friendly we will be back.

  • "We have been to this property numerous times and it is always comfortable and homely."

The welcome basket is always a nice touch. Unfortunately, this time, we had an issue with both the downstairs shower and toilet. We could not fault the service we received from both Rachel (the manager of the property), the plumber's she sent out or the service received from Sykes, in rectifying the problems. We will not hesitate in booking this property again and are already looking into dates for next year. My husband, daughter and I and our 3 dogs love this property and the surrounding area and its proximity to Weymouth and West Bay.

Enclosed sunny garden with generous table and chairs. Very peaceful - the A352 is a very quiet A road and there was little traffic noise. Lovely walking from house, village shop, pubs etc less than 5 minutes away. We had a great stay and would certainly come back.

  • "This was our second stay at Kerridge, Cerne Abbas and we had another lovely week."

It is an ideally situated property for exploring Dorset and the coast set in a beautiful village with lovely walks not far from the property. The property itself is very clean and comfortable and my partner and I and our two dogs thoroughly enjoyed our stay again and we certainly hope to visit again. The village shop is a real bonus and I can recommend it. Our only one minor thing which we found was a problem was the television aerial was loose fitting into the back of the television. As a result the picture was breaking up now and again and sometimes no picture at all. I appreciate people don’t go on holiday to watch tv, but it is useful in the evenings or if the weather is wet. Otherwise another perfect holiday and please thank the owner for the very kind gift of the welcome hamper, greatly appreciated. Thank you.

It had secure garden which was great for our dogs 2minor quips the double mattress downstairs was a little bit uncomfortable (lumpy) and the TV aerial kept coming loose at back of telly so kept losing picture but they were minor and didn’t spoil our stay in any way we will definitely be back next year.

  • "We loved the cottage, it was so much better than I expected."

It is spacious and dog friendly. We were there for a week with our dog, My son and his partner joined us with their two dogs for a few days and we had plenty of room. The cottage sleeps six and it is certainly roomy enough. The garden is well enclosed and nicely set out with a bench and a table and chairs. The kitchen is well equipped, the only improvement I can think of is that a little space could be cleared for food storage. but the fridge and freezer are both generously sized. Cerne Abbas is lovely and there are many walks from the village. It has a good friendly shop and three pubs all serving food. Highly recommended.

We stayed for the weekend and had everything we needed. The door at the bottom of the stairs was a bonus as we didn’t need to use the stair gate which we had brought. Cerne is a very dog friendly place with lots of walks and sunshine. The welcome hamper was superb and very kind as were the doggie treats. Thank you so much.

The entrance hall could do with some coat hangers for wet things . Kitchen was fine . It was sunnier than the dining room . Maybe 2 more chairs in the kitchen as we sat there . No chest of drawers in the bedrooms . It’s ok for a weekend but not if you wanted to stay longer . Showers were either boiling of freezing . On the whole s nice cottage just needs a bit more attention to detail . No hand towel in downstairs loo . Hamper was a very nice touch .

It was spacious, impeccably clean, freshly decorated and well equipped. It is also very quiet. In spite of its location on a through route between Dorchester and Sherborne there is very little traffic, so that was not an issue. The welcome hamper was, indeed, comprehensive and very welcome. In addition, Kerridge is situated in a charming friendly village with an excellent tearoom, a good village shop, and three pubs serving food all within walking distance. We hope to visit Cerne Abbas again very soon.

What an absolutely beautiful cottage! I fell in love with the cottage and the village. Every thing you could need for your stay is supplied. The dogs loved it, the treats left for them and the garden was a nice size for them to have a play and relieve themselves when needed. We had numerous walks through the village, we all adored the quirky ness! We ate one evening in the pub which was lovely as the dogs where welcome too. We found a lovely little fish and chip place, which I left the postcode for in the guest book. We visited the Jurassic coast, what a beautiful place. The weather was warm but rainy so we did what we could. We would definitely return here one day.

My only concerns would have been the original price (being quite high and out pricing this property on the market) and I would have liked either a small dressing table or chest of drawers in the downstairs bedroom as storage is very limited (but I managed - just). Unfortunately a few things just didn't work. TV had poor aerial so could not use, boiler stopped working and we had to wait for a new order of gas to get hot water. Most of the taps were fitted wrong so they felt like they would come off at any minute. Just small little details which made it feel a little cheap, all easily resolved which would turn it into a wonderful cottage.
