It is also within easy reach of the World Heritage Jurassic Coast including Swanage, Corfe Castle, Lulworth, Abbotsbury and Lyme Regis.
A file of over thirty walks and cycle rides in the area has been provided within the property but there are many more to be discovered.
While the accommodation has been provided to cater for up to five adults in two double and one single room, it would equally well provide for children with a stairgate and highchair provided.
Two designated off-road parking spaces are provided adjacent to the property's pretty courtyard garden in which you will find a garden table, chairs and parasol.
This is a lovely spot to enjoy breakfast, lunch, dinner or maybe just an aperitif before visiting one of the many pubs and restaurants within a short drive of Charlton Down.
The lounge and garden room provide ample comfortable seating along with indoor dining facilities over-looking the garden.
A TV (including Sky freeview), a DVD player and a hi-fi unit are provided for your enjoyment.
The kitchen is well-equipped and includes a dish-washer and wine cooler to make life easy during your stay.
A cloakroom completes the downstairs.
Upstairs the bedrooms are comfortably furnished providing ample storage facilities and there is a bathroom with bath, shower and WC.
Charlton Down shop and post-office is just a two minute walk from the house providing for your everyday grocery needs offering a wide range of products; they also bake bread every day including croissants, pain au chocolat and baguettes so get there early!
There are various playgrounds for young children, the nearest just yards from the property while a zip-wire and other activities can be found in the field beyond the cricket ground.
Dorchester has an extensive selection of museums relative to it’s size covering everything from teddybears, dinosaurs and Tutenkamun to military history, the justice system and the history of Dorset and it’s fascinating past.
There are a host of restaurants to choose from in Brewery Square with many international cuisines to be found in the High Street and elsewhere.
The surrounding villages provide a wonderful choice of pubs serving an extensive range of delightful food much of it sourced from local farms and fisherman.
