"We really enjoyed our stay at Quarry Cottage."
The beds were comfy, as was the sofa, so we started each day in good spirits. The heating worked well and the lounge/kitchen/dining area was very generously proportioned: it seemed even larger than the photos suggested. Everything worked and the location was great. Less than 10 minutes to Cheddar, 15 minutes to Wells, and not far from the A38 for Bristol Airport or M5. And Draycott itself is in such a pretty location, looking over the Somerset levels nestled on the slopes of the beautiful Mendip hills. Watch out for gliders taking off at the top of New Road!

"Thank you so much for the milk and biscuits on our arrival, it was lovely of you."
You were very prompt when we arrived and made us feel welcome. Just a suggestion, as we missed these items during our stay, maybe some salt and pepper and a pair of scissors. Thank you both once again our stay with you was wonderful, you live in a lovely part of the country.

"I had a lovely stay here."
Needed another sofa if there were a bigger party here - but for a small group (and I had the place to myself) it was absolutely wonderful. The owners were available if any help was needed. The house was absolutely spotless - and cleaning of the property could not be faulted. Very close to Cheddar and Cheddar George - and easy access to Wells.
We are very pleased Tracey had a wonderful time at the cottage, we have taken on board her comments and hope this will improve guests stay in the future. Property Owner

"We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Quarry Cottage."
It was a great base for visiting Cheddar. Also visited Wells, Glastonbury and Clarks Village, all nearby. Farm shop just up the road, lovely local produce where we bought the most gorgeous strawberries. Also visited the local Strawberry Special pub which was very welcoming. The Cottage itself was very well appointed, comfortable, modern and immaculately clean. Good shower. There was a lovely private patio area with views over the countryside. Many thanks to Lin who welcomed us and we were very grateful for the treats she left us! Would absolutely recommend and hope to return again.
Thank you for your lovely feedback, we look forward to seeing you again in the future. Property Owner

"Quarry Cottage was top notch!"
I’ve stayed in many cottages which were O.K., which is why Quarry Cottage stands out. The cottage was well furnished, all items were decent quality, from pots and pans, plates, glasses, to the mattresses which were all comfortable. The water pressure in the shower was high, temperature was easy to adjust. The perfect place to celebrate Christmas away from London

Lots of local walks, and great places nearby to visit, an ideal base. The hosts live next door and are at hand if any help or advice is needed. The cottage is spacious and clean with all facilities supplied and a great little welcome pack too, which was very much appreciated. A good choice of Shops, pubs and restaurants also close by. Thankyou.

Just a stone's throw from Cheddar Gorge and the beauty of the Mendips, Quarry Cottage makes the perfect base for a couples' walking retreat.
Make use of the two private parking spaces before grabbing your bags and heading inside this lovely abode attached to the owner's home, taking off your boots in the porchway and passing the cloakroom.
Be welcomed into a spacious open-plan living room, the social hub of the house, with a large leather sofa and an easy chair being perfect spots to relax after a long journey or a busy day.
Flick on the TV or gather around at one of the two dining areas to set up a fun board game brought from home, whilst the chef of the group can hop back and forth as dinner cooks in the kitchen.
Every essential appliance can be found in the contemporary kitchen, including an integrated double electric oven and a gas hob, with a washing machine convenient for any muddy walking gear!
Head upstairs in the evening to rest and refresh for another exciting day, with a bathroom home to a roomy P-shape bath ideal for a long soak and a shower overhead too, and three delightful double bedrooms each offering tranquil sleeping spots and plenty of storage for your things.
Enjoy summer evenings spent on the raised patio reached via an external staircase, or sit out here with your morning cup of tea before walking into the village of Draycott, visiting the local Draycott Village Stores for any food and essentials needed.
Two pubs can be found in Draycott too, great for a well-deserved pint or tipple of choice after a walk in the Mendip Hills, whilst the nearby town of Cheddar has plenty to offer with shops and a café and of course the magnificent Cheddar Gorge; explore this amazing limestone gorge and its caves including the extensive Gough's Cave and the smaller Cox's Cave, with Britain's oldest complete human skeleton, Cheddar Man, discovered here thought to be 9,000 years old!
Pick up some cheese from The Original Cheddar Cheese Company and some local cider for an authentic Somerset experience, perfect to take on a picnic with you on a ramble, with the West Mendip Way being a great walking route to begin with extending from Weston-super-Mare all the way down to Wells.
Head to the cathedral city of Wells for their weekly farmer’s market held in the marketplace, enjoy walking around the city and discover the Grade I listed building of The Bishop's Palace next to the oldest continuously occupied medieval street in Europe, Vicars' Close, connected to Wells Cathedral and built over 650 years ago.
Don't miss adventuring into the caves at Wookey Hole just outside of Wells along with some scenic woodland walks, take a trip to the famous and mystical site of Glastonbury Tor, or head to the seaside at Weston-super-Mare or Burnam-on-Sea.
