  • "Just spent 3 nights at this lovely cosy cabin."

The location is perfect and a bonus to have parking. There was a good information package on how to work everything. The bed was extremely comfortable. Didn't have any issues with the door (which I had read in previous feedbacks) Would definitely stay here again and will recommend sea spray to family and friends.

  • "A great location, and a great stay."

We thought it might be cold but not at all. When we arrived to collect the key from the key safe I wasn't able to download the documentation on my phone due to a bad connection. Harry who was working in the office at the time kindly helped out. Already thinking about returning.

  • "As many others said, the door was an absolute pain to get shut/locked - it clearly needs replacing, and mentioning it in the guest info is simply not good enough."

But the main problem was - Misleading description - no mention of the car park barrier being NEXT to the cabin, or that when anyone drives in or out, which happens quite a lot, the barrier is swung right across the cabin deck steps and entrance so that random strangers holding it open for their companions are standing awkwardly 2 feet away from you, or reminding the driver to get frozen peas on their supermarket trip, etc, while you’re sitting on the deck trying to have a relaxing breakfast. Weekend was especially busy. It was AWFUL. We were hoping for a quiet and private getaway and got zero privacy- people are walking past so close to you, it’s disconcerting. AND “Awake to views of Monmouth Beach” not true - from the cabin we could actually only see the large mobile home in front and their blue Volvo. Not the beach. And finally, “spot of alfresco dining on the front veranda…” not really possible, as the chairs were sun lounger style and no dining table just a small tray sized coffee table. We’ve booked several holidays with Lyme Bay Holidays but this may have been the last.

  • "The property was very cosy."

It was clean and tidy. There was air conditioning which was extremely fortunate as we enjoyed wonderful hot weather whilst there. There were however some problems. a) The broken entry door, it has fallen in the frame and required lifting each time to shut. What made this more annoying was it was mentioned in the customer handbook,so obviously it has been broken for some time. It took us 5-10 minutes to shut most days and was heavy, as an OAP this was annoying. b) The toilet seat was wobbly, thankfully my husband managed to fix it. c) Although the information beforehand tells you that the property doesn't have parking but you're next to a public car park, the cost of parking is £1.90 per hour making a big impact on finances. Thankfully we were allowed to park in a private space. Overall the holiday was lovely, good dog friendly beach, and cafes.

Hi Katherine, Sorry about the trouble you had. It should say in the information pack to contact Sykes agency should the door be troublesome. Usually happens about once a year. Sorry again. Thanks for fixing the toilet seat. The information should tell you that you have a free parking space behind the chalet. There should be two key fobs. One for the gate in the front and another to allow access to your free parking spot. I will ask Sykes to make this clear. Nevertheless, glad you enjoyed your stay. Steve Property Owner

All three of us had a wonderful week of great beaches and food. This lovely chalet just has everything including the location. Looking forward to staying here again.

  • "It would be perfect if the property would have better (blackout) curtains."

Now it is all light inside as soon as the sun comes up. The same with the small windows near the beds, now there is nothing at all.

  • "Lovely place to stay."

The only downside is it could be a little noisy being right next to the metal gate. Cars stopping in the night and doors slamming. The small veranda is not safe to sit with a dog off the lead being next to the road as hecould get through. Facilities were excellent but it really needs a hoover to clean a tongue and grooved floor. Very difficult to sweep. We had a lovely time. Thank you.

So glad to hear you enjoyed your stay. The property is located near the gate which can only be accessed by a select few cars. We hope that with the updated photos, guests can assess whether or not the balcony is suitable for their pet but with the beach a stones throw away and plenty of coastal walks available, guests will probably be out and about most of the time! Your comments about the hoover will be passed on. We hope to see you again. The Lyme Bay Team. Property Owner

  • "This is a delightful property."

Cosy and well maintained. Every convenience catered for. The experience of the sea air and friendly locals was uplifting. The TV technology was advanced for me , however I did find programmes I didn’t know existed! Only thing missing for me ? A small vegetable steamer ! Oh and some sunshine ! Thank you .

Thank you for your lovely feedback, so nice to hear that you enjoyed your stay. Your comments about the steamer will be passed on but due to the property being so compact, it might not be possible. However, we will certainly do our best about the weather next time for you! • "No wardrobe facilities & only 4 hangers provided for 2 people."

Do think you should state no wardrobe in itinerary, although I realise there’s no room for one.We hung clothes on back of bathroom door. Would be nice to provide 1 large towel between 2 people, instead of 2 medium ones. Also provide a plastic tumbler for teeth brushing as sink so small.

Thank you for your comments. We do feel that it is quite clear in the marketing that the property does not have a wardrobe but do appreciate your comments nonetheless. Your feedback about the towels have been passed to the Linen Team. The Lyme Bay team. Property Owner

  • "I absolutely loved staying here."

I felt very safe and comfortable. I really appreciated the eco products and green cloth (same as I use at home). However, after my long drive I was tired and just couldn’t work out how to operate the hob for a cup of tea! But I experimented the next morning and made it work, so more info on that would have been good. I also had trouble finding the tin opener and hair dryer (I assumed there wasn’t one). The heating was easy to use (once I’d googled the controller), so I was lovely and warm when the weather was rough outside. Just a couple of maintenance issues: the curtain pole I think needs attention and the shower door didn’t seem to close properly. But all in all I had a wonderful time! I got plenty of exercise walking into town and in the evenings was able to relax on the sofa listening to the sea and storms outside.

So glad you liked the property. We will look at ensuring there are some instructions for the hob and heating in the property. The maintenance issues that you have raised have been resolved. Hope to see you another time. The Lyme Bay Team. Property Owner

You're right on the beach perfect for dog walking or fossil hunting. A short flat walk and you're in the resort with all the great pubs restaurants and shops. it was situated right by the dog friendly beach which was ideal for us and our furry little dog. the decor was tastefully done, brilliant bathroom with heated towel rail and a godsend of air con. the bed was comfy with plenty of room, a definate return for us and highly recommend for anyone for anyone who are thinking of staying. maybe a long handled sweeping brush would have been good, but that's minor detail.

Thanks Stephen, Really glad you love it. We do too. We try to think of everything. We have a vacuum cleaner. We will get a Long handled sweeping brush though. Steve Property Owner

  • "Lovely property so well equipped, a credit to the owner."

Really appreciate the reserved parking, Lyme Regis is difficult and expensive to park in. The location is superb one row back for the beach, ideal for our dog and the flat level walk to the pubs, bars and restaurants was brilliant as Lyme Regis is very hilly. Will be booking up for next year!
