  • "We loved our stay in The Hut at Lyme Regis, we had everything we needed, a great view and a great location."

We couldn’t have asked for more! Being able to park was a great benefit, we loved all the little details in the accommodation and had such a great stay. Bonus points for the Lyme Regis Holiday company, when we went to collect the keys we were slightly early and the gentleman who I bumped into was able to check whether the property was ready for us, which it was!

  • "In a lovely position overlooking the sea, very close to shops etc Could do with updating, looking a bit shabby."

There was coffee spilt dried onto the coffee table, a used dirty tray in the oven, finger marks all up the inside of the windows both front and back.and worst of all the dinner plates had been put back in the cupboard dirty☹️

  • "We really loved staying at The Hut."

The location is great with superb views and morning sunshine. We found The Hut to be in general good state of repair with all basic needs met. The only negative we can provide, my daughter found a toe nail in her bunk bed…it wasn’t hers…but what’s a toe nail between friends? Would I recommend? Yes and enjoy

  • "This is our third visit, we really like your chalet."

The switch on the kettle seemed a little fickle otherwise everything we used worked OK. The cold tap over the kitchen sink feels like it needs a little tlc. The hoover filter was very dirty/blocked but seemed to suck alright. We missed the stable door functionality. The verge opposite has not been strimmed for a while. The gate onto the access road was unlockable for the duration of our stay, initially because the anchor post had been damaged and after it was repaired because the magnet and plate didn't line up correctly. The bins are now all unlocked (hurrah) but it is a pain having to drag a weeks worth of rubbish from the chalet, if there were more purple bags we could take smaller loads. The smart meter remote display says it needs a new battery. Hopefully we can still afford a week next year because Lyme is our happy place.

  • "We spent a lovely week at The Hut."

Everything is provided for a comfortable and cosy holiday. You can fall asleep to the sound of the waves as the property is very close to the beach. All the amenities of Lyme Regis are within a short walk and it's a real bonus to have a parking space provided close by. Plenty of walks nearby if you have your canine friend with you. It's a good flat walk from Monmouth beach to the other end of Lyme Regis and there are more challenging walks locally along the coast and inland. Lyme is also well supplied with places to eat of all descriptions, there's something for everyone close to The Hut.

  • "Nice enough, but compared to the other huts I've stayed at in Lyme Regis it is bottom of the list."

Not helped by the continuously wet floor in one of the bedrooms, which I couldn't find a source for. Also double bed mattress was old and lumpy.

  • "The Hut was a lovely place to stay, cosy inside with a beautiful view over Lyme Bay."

The window at the back looking out on a bank of primroses was a bonus. Also, it was great to have somewhere to park as this parking costs for a week's visit are a major cost (I noticed they are increasing the charging hours to 9pm rather than 6pm during the summer months!) We would love to come back soon and thankyou Lyme Bay Holidays for promptly swapping the goose down duvet for a synthetic one as my husband is allergic to feathers.

The hut is comfortable and cosy, perfectly located with a wonderful view of the sea. (And the car park below also provides interesting viewing at busy times!). We will definitely be staying here again in the future. Thank you to the owners for allowing us to share their chalet. Linda

And we will probably be back next year. It is always very clean in the Hut, so you have a very good cleaner. We stayed in several different accomondations during our holiday in England and this was by far the cleanest one!

  • "It was unnecessarily stressful on arrival at the Chalet Park due to the lack of parking and nowhere to offload or unpack."

Other visitors without parking permits had taken all of the spaces to the rear and had blocked any means of turning around in the lane which meant that having found no space we had a difficult time reversing back down the lane. Whilst temporarily stopping near to the chalet to phone you we then had unfriendly neighbours making it clear that they didn’t want us parking near their chalet even for a short time. Your parking situation really needs to be sorted out if you are to be recommended to others. Unfriendliness on the site appeared again when cleaners to the next door chalet made clear their displeasure at us using your garden furniture outside the front of the chalet because this prevented them parking their car outside the chalet they were due to clean. These issues took the shine off an otherwise pleasant holiday. We liked all the hooks, having a clothes horse and the view.

  • "This property was excellent for our family of 3, right on Monmouth beach."

A few minute walk to the cobb with lots of places to eat or grab snacks whilst on the beach. Excellent beach for small children as it is shallow, when the tide goes out me and my little one went rock hunting. Cobb good for crabbing. There is a book in the property letting you know tide times, and Monmouth beach great for fossil hunting. We had a great week. Take your food with you as the only shop nearby is Tesco express and food more expensive. All in all great amenities in the property has everything you need for a stay, iorn, hairdryer, ironing board, hoover & kitchen items. Would recommend and definitely be back :)

  • "Stunning location obviously which makes up for the compact nature and simplicity of the cabin."

We loved how well the kitchen was equipped, and homely bits like blankets and well-stocked bookshelves were great. One problem that would stop us renting this one again is that the main bed was really uncomfortable - very hard, and just didn’t feel like a decent mattress, which is a big drawback on a week’s holiday. One of us ended up using the bunk bed, which was much comfier, but also not ideal on a romantic week away together!

Thank you for your comments. We are very happy to hear that you enjoyed the location, homely features and items at the property. However, we are sorry to hear that the mattress was not to your preference. As I am sure you can appreciate, a mattress is a very personal choice and while our owners are always very conscious about choosing items for their properties with all guests in mind, I am afraid that it is not always possible to have a mattress that is for everyone. We appreciate you taking the time to leave your feedback. Property Owner

  • "A lovely property in a convenient position."

Unfortunately when people were staying in nearby properties, the noise levels were intolerable. The neighbour's son hit our car with a football when we were packing up and their daughter tried to prevent my husband from reaching the property to load up by standing in the way with arms folded. I was so glad to go home.

Enjoying a superb setting overlooking delightful Monmouth beach within a short walk of Lyme Regis town centre in the heart of Dorset, is this quaint holiday chalet, The Hut.

Perfect for a small family on holiday, the accommodation might be small, but it delivers big on charm and character.

It’s hard to believe what has been packed into such a small space and the tardis-like accommodation begins with a delightful sitting room with big windows looking right out over the beach, making it the ideal area for chilling out and taking in some stunning sea views.

You can imagine on a warm, summer’s evening throwing open the door and breathing in the sea air while chilling out and ruminating on a day of holiday adventures.

A small but perfectly formed kitchen has everything needed to prepare a delicious meal for your party and a clever dining area has been created in the compact space; a wonderful spot in which to enjoy good food and company.

As bedtime calls, the grown-ups have a delightful double bedroom while the kids get cool bunk beds; both bedrooms offering an idyllic sanctuary for its visitors.

Waking up in the morning is a delight at The Hut with the beach at Monmouth literally just a few minutes’ away and the amenities of Lyme Regis a short walk.

Here you will find a good selection of shops, cafes, bars and restaurants as well as a museum, an aquarium, a harbour, a causeway and of course, a beautiful sandy beach.

Hop in the car for a scenic drive to any one of a number of attractions nearby which include Abbotsbury Subtropical Gardens, Seaton Tramway, Tunnel Tree Tops high ropes and zip wire and Forde Abbey and Gardens and other beaches worth visiting in the area include Charmouth, Chesil, Branscombe and Seatown.
