"We had a lovely time at The Penthouse."
Very clean, cosy and comfortable. We found all we needed for a nice relaxing stay. The views were beautiful and the apartment is just a short walk to the shops and restaurants. There is a beautiful walk down through the gardens to the harbour and beach. We would love to stay again.

Bedding good quality but felt towels not penthouse quality, too small and crunchy. Well equipped kitchen although dishwasher left clean but loaded and had no salt or rinse aid in. Unable to work DVD and Wi Fi temperamental, we weren’t bothered but others may be. I think description should be more enlightening regarding access to property, again we weren’t unduly bothered but there is an awful lot of stairs to reach the penthouse, unpacking the car was hard work although grateful for the parking space. All in all a great few days away, the Penthouse was warm, comfortable and peaceful.

We love the comfortable and spacious sitting room, the nice bathroom with shower, the 2 balconies, and the spacious and comfortable bedrooms. We have had another lovely and memorable holiday and love Lyme Regis. We were pleased that the landings and staircases had been painted and stair carpets cleaned; that has really improved the building. Room for improvement: we need and would wish for some storage space for our own food in the kitchen. There is a strong smell of smoke in the living room as if someone has been smoking in there. Suggest the carpet and soft furnishings need cleaning if that is the case

"The Penthouse is absolutely perfect for two to four people - it has everything you need, enough space to spend a rainy day inside and nothing can beat the spectacular view of the Golden Cap from the southern balcony!"
We enjoyed our stay immensely! The only tiny remark I have is that Lyme Bay Holidays please clarify in the booking confirmation / key collection notice, that the key safe for the Penthouse is located directly at the building, not at the agency offices like with other properties. That information would have saved my friends and I about an hour of trying to get the key out of the wrong safe, calling the help hotline and having to wait for assistance (after an 18h day driving), only for them to tell us that we were standing in front of the wrong key safes. I have booked other properties via Lyme Bay Holidays before, where the key safe was always at the office building, so I assumed the same for this property. I feel this could be made clearer in the key collection note shortly before the stay. Nevertheless, the long day driving and the late night arriving were forgotten once we got up the next morning to be welcomed by the marvellous view of Lyme Bay and the Golden Cap, so we will certainly be back :)

"A bit tricky to find at first, the accommodation is very comfortable and the view is fantastic."

"The Penthouse was a perfect stay for our family of 3 adults."
Fantastic location with amazing views of the waves crashing over The Cobb. Everything we needed and perfectly clean and comfortable. We managed to get our large 4x4 in the parking space!! We loved the welcome pack, the only thing it lacked was some sugar sachets which we had forgotten to bring with us. Thanks for a brilliant stay we would definitely return

"This is a lovely apartment and the photos don’t do it justice."
The parking space is a bit tight, but it’s great to have one and there are a lot of stairs, but you get the most amazing views. Everything we could wish for was provided including a lovely welcome hamper and milk in the fridge. Thank you!

"We enjoyed our week’s stay at The Penthouse in Lyme Regis very much."
The apartment is modern, stylish and comfortable with great views from the balconies. There is a smallish allocated parking space but we managed to fit our Peugeot 3008 into it. There is no lift to the third floor so renters would want to have a reasonable level of fitness to access the apartment. The weather was mixed during our stay but between enjoying the ever changing skies and seas and watching Netflix on wet days it was a perfect break and a great base for exploring the coastline.

Car parking could have been an issue. Fortunately Flat4 could park in Flat5 space, which was lucky.

The bathroom is so much better with the new walk in shower. The views are stunning and the balconies are lovely. There is a great feeling of space and light and it’s a good space to be in if the weather is poor.

"The panoramic views from the Penthouse were lovely."
The furniture needs upgrading. The seating area in the lounge looks grubby and uninviting. Definitely a need to provide fans for bedrooms because if you leave the windows open, the blinds are rattling all night. There should be a choice of a lighter duvet for hot weather as those provided were too heavy. Quite a surprise at the end of the stay, we then found out we had to strip the beds and remove all rubbish before departure, something we were totally unaware of. Fortunately, after contacting Lyme Bay Holidays this requirement was waived.
There is plenty of air ventilation in the apartment with windows and doors and we have never received negative comments about the temperature. Thankyou for your comments regarding the chairs . "It’s a lovely flat with spectacular views."
We very much enjoyed our stay and would hope to stay there again. The only minor negative point is the tiny parking space - the parking space for the Penthouse seems to be the narrowest of all of the flats. This didn’t cause a major problem, but we had to ask the chap in flat 2 to move his car to let us out.

"Have used this nice apartment a number of times and other than a few few small signs of wear and tear it never disappoints."
Lovely spot for a relaxing holiday only tempered slightly by the maintenance works. I felt the communication and level of information on contractors requirements could have been better and whilst we were able to vacate for much of the two working days, we did feel somewhat compromised. This will be a consideration when looking where to book next time but the only cloud on an otherwise pleasant stay. As a footnote and purely personal observation I am not sure the incorporation into Sykes Holidays has been a beneficial one as it feels less of a personal local service than before with "no reply" emails and option lists when calling.
I am pleased that you enjoyed the apartment, I do apologise for any inconvenience that may have occurred due to the exterior cleaning. We have now booked in for the bathroom to be renovated in May this year . We are also in discussions with Sykes Holidays as to rewarding existing guests who are planning on staying in the apartment for future visits. Enjoyed my stay and team very helpful when issue with boiler - but bathroom really needs a refresh of paintwork / grouting/ extractor fan plus I was there 2 weeks & only a linen dropoff & no light cleanthrough or bedchanging - disappointing

Loved the space, loved the views. Well-equipped and really comfortable. Fabulous place. Note for owner: there is a tiny leak from under sink in small bathroom. Noticed little pool of water collecting on floor over a couple of days - nothing huge but could cause damage if left for a long time.

"Our second stay at the Penthouse ."
We love the views and the peacefulness . Very much appreciate the well equipped kitchen. Bathroom starting to look a little tired. It feels like a home rather than an anonymous holiday let . It’s a bit of a walk up the stairs, but the positives far out way this small niggle, not for everyone and should be strongly emphasised on listing . Booked again for next year , disappointed that there was no discount for loyalty. Preferred when we dealt with a small independent holiday co.

"Overall, we were very happy with our stay at the penthouse."
Great location, views and facilities. The apartment did smell musty when we arrived and continued throughout the stay. The seemed at its worse when we arrived back from a day out. The stairs were not a problem for us, but I could see how less able people, or those with young families would really struggle.

The bathroom is a bit tired and needs updating. On the whole we think the Penthouse is a fabulous place to stay. We were able to entertain my sisters and husbands who were also staying in Lyme. The views are spectacular. We’ve been to Lyme several times and love it here.
