  • "We stayed here for 3 nights 70 birthday, the house has a lot of character lovely grounds for grand children to play in."

The swimming pool was closed not that we would have used it in November. The aga is quite hard work to cook on and I think in need of a service. The little cooker is a help but a bit old if you turn on the back left ring on knocks the trip out other than that had every thing else you need to cook.I would recommend this house but is in need of a few maintenance issues however we had 3 enjoyable days here.

Hi thank you, for your feedback. not sure why we gave such a rating for facilities please could expand so that I can improve on this. the Aga can be tricky if you’re not used to using one , most people enjoy the experience , however we do have a smaller electric cooker in addition to this. The Aga is serviced by tG Crabb of Bridport every six months and has just recently been serviced. We are not aware of any outstanding maintenance issues but would appreciate specific feedback if possible please in order that these can be addressed so we can continue to offer pleasurable relaxing holidays for our geusts. pleased do enjoyed your stay and hope to visit Deer Leap estate Kind Regards Hannah. • "Do not book this property or use Sykes."

The floors were dirty, cob webs & dead bugs everywhere. Musty smell when you walk in. Pictures were very generous and clearly old as there was different furniture. Small points aside, major issues were the bugs/fleas/flies (not exactly sure what they were) all over the walls and ceiling in one of the bedroom rooms. This made the room unusable and we had to put some people in the front room. The main bathroom (only new, decent looking one) leaked into the down stairs ceiling (we assume a faulty/cracked pipe underneath). The leek was into the hallway down stairs directly through a light. Very dangerous. Old water stains so had clearly happened before. Rang both contact numbers provided, no answer. Contacted Skye's who acted like they cared at the time but then said they couldn't get hold of the owner and it's not their problem.. we paid for 7 beds and 3 bathrooms and could not use 1 of each. No resoonse, apology or compensation. Property should be taken off until fixed as this is very danagerous! We had children in the property!! Will never book again

  • "The property has the potential to be 1st class!"

It needs some attention. Some of the beds are uncomfortable and require a new matress. Some areas of the house need a more thorough deep clean. There was an infestion of flies in the twin bedroom. Some curtains are not properly hung. Some of the dining room furniture was almost broken. One of the upstairs showers floods. The electric oven seemed to cause the power to go off at the trip switch so may need some attention. The outdoor furniture needs to be properly stored, it makes the exterior of the property look untidy. The comments are not intended to be critical, but informative, in order that you can bring this property up to it's full potential and for it to be even more enjoyable for future guests. We had a lovely holiday and would go back again. The house suited our needs well. The games room was great, the lounge area very comfortable and the grounds were beautiful.

  • "The house is in beautiful grounds, it was very warm and all the showers and bath worked beautifully but no plug for the whirlpool bath."

Some of the windows do not open especially the kitchen windows. The Aga oven is small and it took a long time for the Aga to get to cooking heat, if you are used to agas you will probably find it easier the second electric cooker which is very old blew the electrics every time we tried to use it, an electrician was promised but didn’t appear! So cooking was difficult. The sofa in the lounge is very low and not very comfortable. The beds are ok but I would suggest taking your own toppers. No fire exits sign posted. But I love the house it is unique.

.there are 3 steps into the property that could do with some support to climb them...the beautiful Hall was so lovely and so was the house .The kitchen really needs updating and we found it hard to cook for lots of people..we loved the games room we had loads of fun times ..the lounge was nice but sofas were very low and we had 2 ladies in there 80s and people with back problems so it was quite uncomfortable...heanna answered all our text and came out to sort heating and give us cleaning products but we feel her house cleaners are letting her down ! there were no cleaning products left and we feel like there should be bleach in each toilet..there isn't a dryer so if you are going on your holiday here take your towels because you only get 1 per person...the bedding could do with up dating and the mattresses but we sleep well never the less..the grounds are stunning and seeing the wild deer every morning was amazing...we would definitely return if the house was updated to a 5 star

Thank you for your feedback. The kitchen is in keeping with the house, due to high volume of geusts there has been natural wear, we are excited that the flooring is due to be replaced this autumn. Most of the bedding is new & mattresses, that need to be, have now been updated. Unfortunately the hair dryer was taken by previous geusts , We are looking at getting a hair dryer hardwired in situ. There is 1 geust towel left for each guest on the bed and 1 hand towel for each basin as stated in house details. As you know we are always happy to supply more towels for geusts on request. It was lovely to meet you all and and your puppy . We are so pleased to hear you enjoyed Deer Leap House . Absolutely agree grounds are absolutely stunning and House has a 5 star quality which we strive for at all times with best intentions to give the best possible stay always. We are excited to see continual improvements at Deer Leap. We hope,as with many geusts, to see you return again Property Owner

Ages ranged from 15-71. Everyone enjoyed their stay. The outdoor swimming pool was a comfortable temperature, and tennis courts were great fun. We had brought our own racquets and balls, but there were some there. Saw deer every morning in the gardens. The games room was used lots by us all. Moreton church is well worth visiting, the etched glass windows were stunning. Great spot for exploring the area. We went to Lulworth Cove, Durdle Door, Sandbanks and Weymouth during our stay.

  • "Firstly I would like to say we had a wonderful holiday at Deerleap House and the outside areas are fabulous, the swimming pool, table tennis, fire pit area, tennis courts and grounds were amazing and as a large family of 15 with age ranges of 9 years up to 82 ensured there was something to do for everyone."

As in previous reviews there were some areas of the house that were very tired, curtain rails hanging off, some windows don't open and the kitchen isn't really set up to cater for 15. There is an Aga which seemed great to cook on for a large number but was not hot enough to use and the only other option was a small 4 ringed electric cooker in the corner of the kitchen, it was hard work catering for such a large group using this. There are 3 bathrooms upstairs but one of them only has a bath and sink, if this also had a shower and toilet it would really ease the queuing for using the shower in the main bathroom which also needed a little TLC, the bath had a jacuzzi option but no one could work out how to use it. I called the number given in the arrival email which went onto voicemail to request instructions on how to use the Aga and also request more mugs as there were not enough for one each but didn't receive a reply, it wasn't until the day before we were leaving that we found the welcome book along with instructions in an obscure drawer in the kitchen, it would have been useful if this had been on display in the hallway upon arrival. The pillows supplied were flat as pancakes and more towels would be good as one family of 4 were sharing 3 towels. We purchased some logs from a local shop for the fire pit but found out later that there were logs available to use within the grounds so this would have been handy to know too. Having said this, the space in the house is fabulous, the games room offered more entertainment for everyone and the dining room and large living room offered a welcoming space for all the family to gather. With some TLC this Property has the potential to be a 5 star holiday home and is a wonderful location to explore the beautiful surrounding areas within Dorset.

  • "First, the 'negative' stuff: - I would advise guests not to open any of the windows facing 'rear' pf house during warmer weather, especially in the evening when lights are on, as there is a (European) hornets nest nearby, I had to become quite adept at trapping them."

    - During our stay, the downstairs shower only ran scalding hot (as reported by a previous guest). There was then a similar issue with one of the two upstairs showers. HOWEVER, Hannah responded very quickly to my report of the issues, and had a plumber on-site the next day, who was able to remedy the upstairs shower. The downstairs shower has a knackered cartridge, and apparently a replacement is on order. - The tennis court border could do with some garden maintenace to avoid getting bramble scratches when trying to retrieve balls. Now onto the positives: Deer Leap House is a wonderful let that is set in beautiful grounds. The location itself is perfect for exploring the surrounding Purbeck coastal region, with Moreton providing easy access to roads in all directions. There are plenty of local attractions; I personally recommend the Tank Museum at Bovington, which is vast in size, full of history, and included a spectacular outdoor demonstration. And then you have miles and miles of coastal walking. We did a jaunt from Durdle Door to Osmington Mills (Smugglers Inn pub). Our main highlight though, was "Sea Kayak Dorset" in Portland. Conditions weren't great, but the reward was getting a few metres from a dolphin, who had decided to playfully splash us. It was something I will never forget :) The house itself is beautuful, and thoughtfully furnished and decorated. Everything we needed was provided. We all got better at playing pool as time the week went on, and a few of us played our first tennis games. I personally didn't use the pool, but those in our group who did use it, said "it was lovely". Most of these reviews boil-down to the question of, "Would I stay here again?". For me, the answer is a firm "Yes!" TIPS for other guests: - As above, be careful of leaving windows open in warmer weather, due to inquisitive hornets - If you are thinking of eating at Framptom Arms, make sure to book ahead if you are a group of 6+ - Whislt WiFi in the house is good, phone reception itself varies, so ensure you have WiFi Calling enabled on your phone - GO TO THE TANK MUSEUM!

  • "This was our 2nd stay at Deerleap."

We love the space, the pool, the tennis court , garden and grounds. The house provides plenty of space for all the family so children and adults can relax and run wild without disturbing others. The grounds provided amazing adventures for our children aged 9-13. They were out playing, running and laughing until late every single day. We have had the best holiday ever. ( helped by the incredible weather ) .the pool is kept a lovely warm temperature and the surrounding area of the pool is great for sitting, sunbathing and cooking s’mores on the fire pit. This is a beautiful house with great character. Yes we had few niggly problems but they were dealt with promptly. Hannah was welcoming and helpful and easy to get hold of when we needed her. We had great WiFi connection throughout the house but don’t expect to use your phone out in the grounds- enjoy what you’ve got around you. We were incredibly lucky to have a very tame deer that came to us every morning and evening. As well as the heard that grazed at the lake every morning. You will see a heron, woodpeckers ,squirrels and an abundance of wildlife . It’s truly special. We are not high maintenance- we love the house for all it offers and and will accept that maybe some Parker’s of the house could use some tlc. BUT you will not find a property that offers all of what Deerleap can. Memories that last a lifetime.

On the whole all bathrooms needed a good deep clean as did the rest of the house. Kitchen - not enough equipment for 15 guests. 11 forks, 13 knives, 7teaspoons, 9 mugs, several handleless mugs . No batteries in the remotes.Pages torn out of visitors Book with 12 inappropriate comments from 21 June. In summary the house and grounds are beautiful but deserves better. Chris and Marion Sweet

It is disappointing to hear that you did not enjoy your holiday especially after you left a voice message saying you would like to return . We currently have guests returning for a 3rd time which is a good reflection on Deer Leap House. The house is always kept to a high standard with cleanliness. The housekeeping team always take videos after cleaning to ensure this high standard is kept. I have personally reviewed the footage from the week you stayed and it is all in good keeping. It is a shame you didn't contact us directly whilst you were staying so that we could assist you with any questions and batteries or utensils . I can assure you there have been no pages torn from the visitors book there are few loose pages from wear and tear where children obviously look at it . I am always pleased to read the comments in the visitors book as they are always incredibly positive. Unfortunately, There is not the facility on here for us to post the guest book comments on here but we are happy to send copies to anyone who requests them. The comments that you refer to were made by persons with special needs and I did not feel it was appropriate to remove them. If they had been they would have not been left in the book. • "We had a great weekend at Deer Leap House."

It is a spacious home, with large bedrooms, a lovely two sided porch and lovely grounds with a lake and good tennis court. We saw deer and a heron by the lake and enjoyed the really well thought out garden furniture, with enough chairs and tables for all 13 of us to eat outside or relax on the comfortable garden furniture. We enjoyed all the games facilities and the house, although slightly worn, was comfortable and warm. If I had any negatives, it was just a few maintenance things, we kept getting locked in the downstairs bathroom because the door handle was broken and the same with the dining room door handle. The aga was good to cook on, but the fumes coming from it could be quite strong at times, especially when we first arrived, although that calmed down after 24 hours, although in the kitchen they were still there so we kept the windows open. We also had a mouse in the lounge and the upstairs bedroom above the lounge, which we caught and took away a few miles down the road. Although there are a few maintenance issues it was a really great house for a big party, and the outside games and furniture etc are a real bonus.

  • "We were greeted to beautiful grounds."

We arrived slightly earlier the planed and when we arrived the cleaners kindly said they will call us to let us know when we could come back as she advised they would be finished earlier as the last guest had left the property clean so there wasn’t much left to do!!!! They obviously don’t deep clean the property after every guest stay it says it all!!!!! Cobwebs greeted you as you stepped into the property. A Grand entrance hall but as you walked in cobwebs everywhere in house. The kitchen area wasn’t nice at all. The pictures don’t do it any justice but it was worse. The Aga was absolutely filthy thick with grease and not clean at all. The oven in the corner was like something from dark ages and wasn’t 100 percent presentable clean inside. We have rented numerous houses and normally you have some condiments like salt pepper etc but cupboards were bare & empty apart from plates cups glasses etc …No welcome pack! every place we have rented have always gone out there way with a lovely welcome pack of small gestures local produce like eggs or biscuits tea coffee etc . The kitchen utilities were a Health hazard ..I’ve taken a picture!! The dishwasher didn’t work the whole time we were there and we texted and rang the property owner leaving voicemail not once did she make attempt to get back to us as we could also see she has read our messages. We were having to wash up non stop as you don’t expect to read you have a dishwasher on the property and having to wash up everything on your holiday. We have been ripped off as this property for what you get inside is definitely Over priced and house just felt dirty tired. Showers not working properly ( one just trickle water) one shower room downstairs the door would get stuck and you couldn’t get out which frightened our children who kept getting stuck . We all had to share the tiniest shower in the house between 9 of us. Curtains in rooms half hanging off rails and bedding was all creased not matching bedding either or presentable, when you pay a lot of money you expect to sleep in lovely bedding. One bedroom was literally thick with dust and had two single beds with one that was unstable and every time you moved on it , it made very loud noises as it was on its last legs ( we have picture prove of everything) and the curtain again hanging half off. One bedroom the mattress was so old thin springy you couldn’t sleep on it and this was the only most presentable room too!!! The grounds outside was beautiful, tennis court fantastic, The games room was actually brilliant for the kids and the dining room was lovely big space as was the sitting room with a fireplace. each shower room all with issues. The owner didn’t call us back or communicate with us which was absolutely unacceptable when you’ve paid out a lot of expensive for this house. There was a book for guests to write in!! You could see pages has been ripped out as I’m guessing they have removed these and only kept the good ones in!!!! We read the reviews before we decided to go ahead with this house thinking other guests were just being picky but all honesty they were right. It probably wouldn’t be so bad for group of people who just want a stop pit to sleep in ( uncomfortably in some beds!!) go out but when your planning to stay in a property whole stay to relax for Easter bank hols this house definitely wasnt suitable.

  • "What a beautiful house!"

We really enjoyed our stay and would consider coming back. We do however have a couple of things we were not really happy with. 1. The small shower wasn't very good because we were unable to regulate it. It needs a new shower head as this one has only a jet flow. 2. The toilet in that bathroom didn't flush very well. 3. One of the mattresses had a large stain which is not really acceptable. 4. Areas of the house were really dusty, especially on the architrave above the oven in the kitchen. 5. A few light bulbs did not work. 6. The handle on the downstairs bathroom is broken and had to be opened from the outside! Apart from those points we were very comfortable and we can see that the owners are gradually making improvements and modernisations through the property. The grounds are exceptional and we would love to come back during summertime. Please pass on our comments to the owners because those little things that we felt were lacking are just little things that make such a difference. Many thanks.

We had no heating for the first few days, although the caretaker did bring a few extra blankets, we had to keep letting her know that the heating was still not working. The curtains need attention, quite a few hanging down. Dustbins were already full. Some windows did not open one in the kitchen and some of the upstairs ones. The whirlpool bath did not work, and could not be used even as a normal bath as the plug would not go down. The arga was not hot enough to cook on and the other cooker is tucked away in a corner. Apart from that the grounds were beautiful and so is the house, it is quite lived in but that suited us as it made it more relaxed. Some of the bedding has seen better days, flat pillows and bobbly quilt covers. But saying that we would stay there again.

We are very proud of Deer Leap and it is very much loved by all. Sorry to hear your second visit was not as good as your first visit. I am delighted that you have stated you will still come and stay here again for a third stay though ... The only aspect of the property which was found not to be maintained by myself was the curtains in the dining room. Thank you for bringing this to my attention The heating does not usually go until October. When you contacted me I came up the next day and put it on i also personally delivered you 5 new brand new blankets as you expressed you were all ladies that sit knitting so therefor feel the cold easily. Dustbins were half full because you arrived mid week. Again thank you for raising this I may look at getting a second bin but it is rarely full after 3 day stay. Aga is hot enough and is serviced every 6 months, i was happy to personally come up and help if you had asked. I am always on hand. There are 2 pillows for each person , your comment about the pillows being flat is noted and will be looked at. It is important to us that all our guests are comfortable and sleep well, We look forward to seeing you again. Hopefully we can improve on your satisfaction for next visit. :) Kindest Regards Hannah Property Owner

It was set in the most beautiful grounds which we enjoyed walking around and exploring the woods just beyond. The lake was alive with beautiful fish. Lots of baby fish showing it to be a healthy breeding ground. The deer we saw in the early mornings and evenings were delightful. They weren’t too shy and came quite close to the house at times and we were able to get some lovely photos of them. The house itself was more like a home than a letting house and was full of charm. It had lots of nice touches showing a thoughtfulness towards the guests. Loads of soft furnishings adding extra comfort. It was clean, tidy and warm upon arrival with fairy lighting wrapping the stairs and balcony giving it a nice feeling of welcome. We enjoyed free Wi-Fi, Broadband and Sky TV and the games room. The pool table was used a lot amongst all of us. We even used the record player to play a few LP’s one evening which took us back to the time of our wedding in 1973. The reason behind our family holiday. Magic. There were a few minor plumbing issues which need attention but they didn’t detract from our stay nor our hopes that one day we could return for another stay. We were able to enjoy the pool on several occasions. It did need a clean at the bottom of the deep end but we were unable to use the hoover to sweep it as the hoover was broken. As the rest of the pool was very clean it was not a problem and more likely to have been a recent occurrence or just simply a build up it being towards the end of the season. We all loved the pool. We would recommend Deer Leap House if you want a real homely stay in a beautiful part of Dorset. Don’t expect top end corporate luxury instead expect a real nice family home feel. The owner has made every effort to ensure that anyone who stays can enjoy a wealth of comfort and entertainment. Space for everyone is premium and was especially enjoyed by our four legged family members. I would definitely recommend Deer Leap House and would dearly love to revisit it again. Thank you to the owner for sharing your lovely house with us.

Very comfortable and a great location . A beautiful house with excellent facilities and ample space , good size bedrooms rooms. Just a few points to highlight though … for a house that size to not have the dishwasher working was a big disappointment . Cooking dishes very limited for the Aga . Ice maker not working on fridge . Found rubbish and towels left from previous occupants …cobwebs in most rooms . Curtains certainly need some attention in some rooms . 3 bathrooms ( toilets ) not adequate for a house that sleeps 15 ! ( 1 bathroom very small ) An airer would be good for indoor drying on wet days !

Your other comments are untrue there were not cobwebs in every room. There most definitely was not old towels and rubbish left either. It was set in wonderful grounds and the deer visited daily which was a joy. However, the cleanliness of the property was not up to the standard expected - for example there were cobwebs everywhere. Some of the curtains were shabby and hanging loose. In one of the bedrooms, the sockets didn't work. We happened upon the information book for the property on the penultimate day as it was tucked away in a kitchen drawer - not very useful. We had to make a phone call to get the code for the swimming pool gate even though it was supposed to have been sent.

Hi Helen I am glad to hear you Deer Leap a joy. I am disappointed to hear you didn't feel the house was cleaned to a good standard and have took this on board. I did personally inspect for cob webs and found 2 small ones in the very highest part of the house these were since removed. Other than that it did meet the high standards set. There is one socket that apparently doesn't work, however, there are many alternative sockets and this has not posed a problem before, again thank you for bringing it too may attention. The house keeping team did not find any faulty curtain whilst cleaning. The information book is always left out as part of the welcome pack in the hallway for guests arrival I am wandering if perhaps this was moved by someone on arrival . The pool is always locked for safety reasons. I believe you should have received this prior to your arrival from Sykes. As you know I was always on the end of the phone to help if ever help is ever needed as with the code for the pool. Property Owner

It was a bit disappointing that the electronic gates didn’t work so our dogs had to be kept on leads when out in the garden. This despite the sign on the gate stating that dogs were roaming freely !! which given the proximity of the busy main road they most certainly could not do with the gates open. What was more worrying was, as we were preparing to leave the property, my daughter opened the wardrobe door to find rodent droppings in the wardrobe (pictures available but will not copy onto this form). This was in the main, large bedroom facing the front of the house. It appears as if the hole where the pipe goes out of the wardrobe has been gnawed allowing the rodents into the wardrobe, and maybe into the room. We found the kitchen quite difficult to use as the equipment seemed to be randomly arranged in the numerous cupboards and the positioning of the electric cooker made cooking awkward if not potentially unsafe. We did have a good week, with the tennis court and pool room being top of the list! I assume you will pass these comments on to the owner/leesor.

It was difficult getting used to an aga but it was fantastic to put something in and leave it! The house is tired in some places but that didn’t bother us. The outlook is amazing Deer visited in the morning, and the games room was a real asset. We had an amazing time and we hope to return.

The house was brilliant for a large family group, so much space inside and out! The Xmas decorations and tree in the hallway were a lovely touch and the living room was way cosier than it looks in the photos. All generations (and two dogs) loved our stay, the young ones enjoyed the space and the games room and the not so young ones enjoyed the cosy spot next to the fire in the hallway with a glass of wine. Perfect way to spend my 40th birthday!

  • "Beautiful house in a beautiful setting."

Ideal for a large gathering of friends or family. We arrived during the coldest week of the year and had an issue with the heating but was resolved after I contacted Hannah. One of the highlights of our stay was to wake up one morning to see upwards of 20 deer coming out of the woodland, lovely.

  • "When we arrived at the property, it was well presented and welcoming."

The Christmas decorations were a lovely touch. There were a few things that would have made our stay more comfortable. We were advised before our stay that there wouldn't be any wifi available. We were, however, advised that we could connect to the wifi in the adjoining cottage. This wasn't the most convenient solution though. Upon arrival, there weren't any hand towels in any of the bathrooms nor enough towels for all of the guests. We advised the owner who was very apologetic. Apparently there had been an error by housekeeping. The towels arrived the next day, albeit in the afternoon. Some of the rooms could get quite cold so we would recommend taking additional layers in the winter months. We weren't sure if there was a knack to using the upstairs bath but we couldn't get the hot tap to work nor could we figure out how to fill the jacuzzi tub. It would be helpful if the jacuzzi tub came with instructions. The games room is great for keeping everyone entertained. Only minor issues experienced but we would definitely stay again.

  • "Amazing house and grounds!"

Just perfect for a big group away! A few issues were the wifi did not work (no one could connect to it), there was not enough hot water for eceryone to shower so those showering last had coldish showers and then no hot water for washing up for the rest of the day, the aga was not hot enough to cook with (so used the other oven provided instead), most of the plug sockets in the room at the top of the stairs did not work, and the record player did not work. Despite these the house was perfect with great space areas for everyone and a brilliant games room! Would stay here again!

  • "HI We had a great time at Dear Leap, the grounds are stunning."

I do feel the house feels very unloved. It could do with some maintenance, fairly lights around stair case needs removing as do not work, jacuzzi bath does not work. It felt like there had not been anyone staying for a while, there were alot of dead flies in the window. The hot water did not stay on constant too, so had to contact he agent. However the agents were very responsive and dealt with this. Communication from them was excellent throughout. We would stay again.

Hi Marie Pleased to hear you had a great time.! I can say the house is very much loved and The maintenance is completely up to date except the fairy light unfortunately as i explained was missing the plug. The Jacuzzi bath 100% works . It was myself not the agents that you were communicating with so I am pleased you felt i was responsive. Thank you for bringing to my attention about the flies this maybe where housekeeping didn't go back to do one final check in order that I could arrange for you to go into the property early. which i hope you felt was a positive you could take away. It’s well located for amenities and a short drive away from many attractions (we went to Corfe Castle, Old Harry’s Rocks and the Swanage railway!). There were ample cooking utensils for us to cook (the second cooker was much appreciated in addition to the Aga) and we appreciated the tea and biscuit that greeted us on arrival. The host’s communication was great and she was happy to help us with any queries. Thank you for having us.

There was 15 of us and we celebrated my sisters 60th and even though there was lots us there was plenty of room and plenty to do. The house and garden was well equipped even had a fire pit to keep us cosy . It was lovely to watch the deer so closely , one evening we counted 15!! We were offered an extra night free of charge as one of the showers weren't working which was really kind and even though only a couple stayed it meant we didnt have to rush home as it was the day of the queens funeral which meant we could watch it all together. I would definitely recommend this place, it's a wonderful place to stay , thank you so much

Just to let you know the showers need looking at the new bathroom shower cold, the downstairs bathroom shower too hot, one in the bath just trickle, we all ended up using the one in the small toilet upstairs, works great. Struggled with the aga, with the weather being so hot, and it takes ages to cook anything, maybe a separate cooker would work well. Thank you for a lovely holiday. Debbie and family. X

Hi Debbie It was lovely to meet yourself and your family. Sorry to hear about the showers this will now looked into. Unfortunately the aga settings had been turned down, this will also be resolved so not to happen again. I’m sure the guests in later cooler months will love this aspect to the house even more. When paying £3700 you expect things to be clean ie fridge most of the windows were filthy and shower vent in smallest bathroom was absolutely caked with dirt,my daughter had to remove a great clump of hair from drain as shower wouldn’t drain away and would of over flowed.A lot of cob webs and light fittings nead a good clean.

Sorry you felt the need to change your initial positive response which you had written in the visitors book. This is disappointing I have only had positive feed back from guests who have found Deer Leap to be very comfortable and enjoyable but we will take your feedback on board to offer the best service possible in the future. • "A beautiful house, excellent facilities and a great location – we had a wonderful family holiday!"

We stayed at Deer Leap House at the beginning of August and had a fantastic family holiday. The property suited our party of 12 (across 3 generations) plus two dogs perfectly! It is a very spacious house (the photos do not do it justice) and there is something for everyone. The games room (pool table, tv, a wide variety of games and an arcade machine) supplied fun entertainment, whilst the living room, large wrap-around veranda and outdoor seating areas were ideal for relaxing with a book or drink. The outdoor solar lighting in the evening was lovely, allowing us to sit outside and catch up with each other at the end of the day. The heated outdoor pool - which was gated and safe - provided hours of fun for the children. Next to the pool, and housing a table tennis table, was a large garden room with plenty of seating that could be taken outside – great for viewing the inflatable and diving fun! Bath time was far more popular than usual thanks to a jacuzzi bath with fancy lighting! However, the deer sightings in the mornings (the front bedroom has the best viewing seat) was the real highlight of the house. Within the vast grounds, there is a tennis court (equipment provided), football goal and lovely woodland walks. The dogs loved the outdoor space! Upon arrival, they also liked the comfy dog bed and tennis ball gift – a really nice touch! The owner was very friendly, helping us to use the Aga and answering any queries we had promptly. A short walk from the property was a pub serving good food and in the opposite direction was a Co-Op, which was helpful for any essentials. Many local attractions are only a short drive away so it was ideal for day trips. As a family we have stayed in a wide variety of properties over the years, but at the end of the week, all ages agreed that it was the best yet! We’d very happily return!
