"We had a great stay at Sandpiper."
The views from the upstairs lounge are excellent but it does mean that a walk back from the town is uphill. The parking space is very generous. We liked the decoration and that there are many different places to sit and read, play games or watch television. Two bathrooms helped with getting out in the mornings. It is close to Devon for trips across the border, we went to Torquay, Coleton Fishacre NT and took a tram from Colyton to Seaton which was lovely. The house was really clean and the Welcome Pack was much appreciated.

"Great place."
Location was super for car parking and a short walk to town. We enjoyed the accommodation very much. It was unfortunate that there was only 1 tea towel and washing up cloth. As we we're 6 people and often cooking and washing up we would have appreciated 1 more t towel and cloth. There was a shortage of toilet rolls for a family of 6. Also for a week 1 bath towel and 1 hand towel just wasn't enough.

"What a gorgeous property."
We really enjoyed a morning coffee on the balcony overlooking the bay. The location was perfect, nice and close to everything too. The property itself was spotless and had everything we needed. We really appreciated the gift bag of goodies too - thank you. All in all, a lovely stay and we are already planning when we can come back!

"Thank you for the Welcome Pack it was amazing and filled with lots of local goodies."
Sandpiper is in a very quiet area and due to it's elevated position the views are breathtaking over Lyme Regis with a beautiful sea view. Watching the sun sets at night from the living room, who needs a TV. Plenty of space to park 3 cars. Nice feeling when you first walk into Sandpiper, knew we were going to have a nice week, and we did. Lovely walks "down" into Lyme Regis but it is a steep walk "back" up to Sandpiper. The Welcome Folder does give you a choice of 3 walks into Lyme Regis and we did all 3. So many choices of where to sit, sun loungers for the garden and a patio set. Lovely to sit in the sunroom of a morning, lunch on the patio and evening meal on the balcony, all just perfect. Lots of books to read and games available to play. Comfy beds, well equipped kitchen and utility room. Lyme Regis is just a gorgeous town. We did a fossil walk with the museum, well worth it, lots of fun and found lots of fossils. Book before you go. Already recommended Sandpiper to 2 other families.
Thank you, Colin and I both very much appreciate your lovely comments. We are delighted you liked Sandpiper and that you had a lovely holiday. Lyme Regis is indeed a gorgeous town! We hope you'll return one day. Property Owner

"Excellent property the welcome pack was a lovely addition."
Overall it was a great property for our group of friends and keeps you fit if you walk up the hill to it from town. If not ample parking for 3 cars.
-
"We LOVE Sandpiper and have now stayed there twice."
We will definitely be back soon - perfect location, beautiful views and wonderfully clean and comfortable.
We're delighted to read your lovely comments, thank you. We look forward to staying at Sandpiper for a third time. Property Owner

"We had a lovely week at sandpiper."
The location was fantastic to explore Lyme Regis. The house had every we needed for our family of four. The sea view from the top floor living area were amazing, the photos on the website did not do it justice. Overall, I would not hesitate booking again and hope to return again soon.

"Ist floor shower is much too small for an adult (tiny)."
It's adjacent toilet also too cramped. We went as a family of 6, yet there was no facility for a suitably sized washing line! Also, the door leading from the kitchen to the utility room is ridiculously too heavy which kept falling back. Why have such a heavy door? All in all, this is not a properly furnished holiday home and I would not recommend anyone to stay here.
We hope you enjoyed your family holiday in Lyme Regis. We have not received any previous feedback regarding the door being heavy or the washing line not being big enough but will of course make the owner aware of your comments for consideration. The property is maintained and furnished to a great standard and achieved a 4 tick rating from an independent grading assessment this year. The Lyme Bay Team We too hope you enjoyed your family holiday in Lyme Regis. The Kitchen/Utility door is a fire door and it has to close unaided, I'm sorry you struggled with it. We've recently totally refurbished the 1st floor bathroom, which I hope you agree is modern and functional. Sadly we couldn't increase the size, but we find it's a useful addition when there are 6 people staying. Thank you for your feedback regarding the washing line, we did have a rotary dryer, but listened to previous feedback where it was felt it was too big for the lower part of the patio where most people put the sun loungers out and children liked to play. "We booked for a couple of nights but wished we had more!"
Fabulous accommodation. Spacious with everything we needed. Very clean and well presented. Lovely view of the sea! Thank you for the welcome pack which was totally unexpected for such a sort stay. A word about location. If you intend to walk into Lyme Regis be aware that whilst not a long walk (approx a mile) the hills are very steep. For us this was not an issue but for some it may be worth noting.
Thank you for your lovely feedback, we're so pleased you enjoyed your short break. We'd love you to come back for a longer visit. Regarding the walk to the town, yes I agree for some the hill might be an issue, if this is the case in our Welcome Folder, we suggest driving to Charmouth Road car park and just walking down the steps to the sea front. We hope the lovely view is worth the walk though. Property Owner

"The cottage is very well equipped making for a very comfortable stay."
The only thing we can think of to criticise was that the list of dates that bins are collected is out of date.
We're so pleased you enjoyed your stay. I hadn't realised the list was out of date, thank you for drawing our attention to it. Of course you don't have to worry about taking any bins out to the road, on collection day, as they are in a bin store already there. We hope you'll visit us again soon and thank you for your positive feedback. Property Owner

"This is the perfect holiday cottage for a fabulous reunion for 3 families who have not met since COVID!"
Super high quality everything, beautifully clean and well laid out with everything you could need. Thank you for the welcome pack - perfect for when we first arrived after a long journey. The cottage is deceptively big, with both communal and more private areas. We loved the upstairs sitting room with its views of Lyme Bay.
We are so pleased that you picked Sandpiper for your family reunion, and glad that it provided the perfect accommodation for your holiday. The Lyme Bay Team Property Owner

"It’s not very good when on the first night water comes flooding Through the roof of the utility room downstairs."
Okay the guy who came out to help us was really good but the Sykes cottages people never Bothered to call us the next day to check if we were okay, they just left us to it.
We are sorry for this unforeseen issue, but we're pleased we were able to rectify this immediately. Apologies if you were expecting a follow up call, we generally leave guests on holiday to reach out to us if you have any issues, however we certainly take your feedback on board. Thank you, and we're glad the service when required was to a high level. The Lyme Bay Team Property Owner

"Had a lovely stay thank you."
Great view from upstairs lounge and plenty of room in the house plus great to have parking plus a laundry room. Neighbour very friendly too. Enjoyed the walk down the steps to the beach and was about a 15 min walk to the town. Steep uphill walk back as described am definitely fitter now !
