  • "Jackie & Alan are lovely people and great hosts."

We arrived late in the evening and Jackie had made some delicious scones with jam and clotted cream. The weather was rather stormy during some of our stay but the games room was a godsend and much appreciated. The lodge is very well equipped, spacious and clean. We had a lovely stay and will return. It is evident that lots of thought has been put into the accommodation as everything we needed was there. Thanks again, Jackie & Alan

The lodge was as described, clean, comfortable. Best equipped holiday let we have been to. All instructions for all appliances were provided as well as other useful information. The sconces and cream were delicious. Shame about the weather and spiders lol but hey it is in the countryside. Would happily rebook if visiting the area again. Would recommend Haynes motor museum if you like cars.

The hosts live on site and are lovely. Happily took my daughter to see their horses and chickens on site. The horses can be seen from the living room of Brookfield Lodge which was a great view to wake up to every day. The games room is a lovely bonus (although I discovered being left-handed did me no favours trying to win table-football lol!). The property is very well equipped for cooking and in a great location - less than 30 minutes to the Jurassic coast. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay here and would highly recommend it.

Pleased you had a lovely time here Really enjoyed showing your family our horses, Chickens and Ducks. The games room does provide some fun entertainment. We are so glad you enjoyed your holiday. Property Owner

We had a problem with the shower but it was immediately fixed when we reported it. The scones on arrival were delicious. All in all it was a great holiday venue and we hope to return again.

Jacqui and Alan were perfect hosts. The pictures in the ads don’t do the house justice as it it much bigger than it looks. We had everything we needed and there’s a rack for a disposable Bar b que. It is a small holding wth horses ducks and chickens. The eggs are delicious buy some!!!! West bay is half hour away and the food at Rise was top notch It’s a proper seaside town with a lovely harbour and some quirky shops We also visited Forde Abbey 10 minutes away which was probably the best garden we have ever been to. The highest fountain in the uk is a sight to see. We also travelled to Abbotsbury sub tropical gardens which had a lovely cafe for lunch. The views of the coast on the drive there were stunning. The local pub is excellent and the Sunday roast was lovely. They even had Morris dancers turn up !!!. Our dogs loved their holiday as did we. I would fully recommend staying here ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

  • "This place was ideal for us in terms of facilities."

After becoming disabled last year, I needed somewhere I could use my wheelchair if I needed to and shower easily. The lodge was excellent for this and has the best equipped kitchen I have seen anywhere - even my own home! I’d brought a few bits as a contingency measure (Sharp knife, roasting tray, good veg peeler etc.) as self catering places are usually lacking in these things, but they all stayed packed all week as weren’t needed at all. Our dog was welcomed and it didn’t feel like tick box exercise. Scones and cream on arrival (my husband demolished these as I am Coeliac and his sister who came with us is vegan) as well as milk. There was salt, pepper oil and cleaning stuff too. Really comfy sofas and beds. The only thing we would have added, was something in the shower to put shower gel, shampoo and conditioner as there is only a soap tray. That is a tiny thing though, when you consider you’re on holiday! The roads are very narrow to get from the property to surrounding areas. We have a large estate car to accommodate the wheelchair, and due to a lack of passing places, journeys in bad weather or the dark were not pleasant. Other than that, it is ideally situated to reach so many places. I would definitely stay again - Jeff wouldn’t as he did the driving and isn’t as confident as he once was. Thank you for having us! • "Alan and Jackie made us feel very welcome."

The provision of the essentials such as Tea, Coffee etc was much appreciated as were the scones so generously provided. We did struggle to find the property as the bus stop which it is opposite is well hidden and the view of the property from the road is not clear but in fairness there were clear signs at the bottom of the drive which we should have been looking for! Our stay was mainly in wet , damp weather so combined with the very recent loss of the dog which we had planned to bring with us we perhaps didn’t get the best out of our stay. Drimpton is very tucked away in the Dorset countryside and yet is in easy reach of Bridport. The local village pubs are a real treat although the local one didn’t have any food available on the Saturday night which was a disappointment…fortunately the one in the village of Broadwindsor was still serving food ( just ) !

The owners are very friendly and welcoming and we really appreciated the delicious homemade scones and mince pies when we arrived. Our stay was over the Christmas period so it was lovely to have Christmas decorations including a tree with beautiful "baubles" hand made by the owner and also to have the space (and enough crockery etc.) to host a post-Christmas buffet lunch for family who live in the area. We are very likely to make a return visit as the property is ideal for us.

Freshly made scones were delicious. The facilities were very good except the WiFi was very intermittent and no signal in the lounge. The accommodation is more suited to a family with 2 children rather than 2 couples. The wet room is not ideal as a multi functional bathroom as after a shower everything is wet through due to lack of air circulation and had to leave the door open to help dry out.

Thank you for taking the time to give us your valuable feedback. We have had problems with the Wifi coverage and have sourced some new equipment, which was installed between changeovers last Saturday, and now offers a much better signal which extends into the garden. The wet room is enjoyed by many visitors of all ages, the fan, which comes on with the light could be left on for a while after use. We haven't had any complaints from previous guests regarding this. We always ask our guests to contact us if they have any problems as we would be happy to assist them if we'd been made aware of their concerns during their stay. Property Owner

  • "It is a brilliantly conceived steel framed barn conversion, with wheelchair access everywhere and very conveniently positioned electrics, switches and sockets, and all facilities within reach."

A lot of work has been gone into this very comfortable, smart conversion. I spent nearly all of January in supreme comfort, the only thing missing was a tumble dryer, but a new washing machine and dishwasher made up for that, and it is a holiday home after all! The location, on the edge of the small village/hamlet is fine for those used to living in an urban environment, as there are few views over the countryside, a pub is the only commerce apart from the 'fish&chip van' every Tuesday evening! Being in a small river valley, it's uphill in all directions, wheelchair walks are not a good idea! You couldn't meet a nicer family than the Scutts (the owners) who made me very welcome, making me feel 'at home' and checking that I "had all I needed" very regularly. I wouldn't hesitate to return or recommend to others, provided they have transport, or love walking!

The cream tea was a wonderful surprise, made extra special when our dogs were included with their own little bowl of gravy bones. Definitely considering a return visit, thank you Jackie & Alan

  • "The accommodation did meet expectations in terms of facilities, the lodge could do with a bit of maintenance for example the mattresses on the beds where uncomfortable, the duvets provided could do with replacing as they were very thin."

The En-Suite nprequired some redecorating, the shower needed fresh sealant and some regrouting, the shower itself needed a could clean as when you removed the shower head the part that sits in the holder was built up with mould. The towel rail in the En-Suite was loose and needed fixing. The lodge smelt damp and we had to purchase air fresheners to try and remove the smell. Also one of the windows wouldn’t open in the twin bedroom. However the owner was very friendly and extremely helpful and we received a lovely welcome pack of milk, tea, coffee, biscuits, and soft drinks. The use of a BBQ was nice and the outside area was well kept. The games facilities were great and we made use of these. I feel that the owners need to spend a little bit of time in replacing bedding and fixing the few things I’ve mentioned.

  • "Jackie and Alan the owners could not have been better very friendly and thoughtful, the Dorset cream tea with homemade scones and jam were delicious."

Brookfield Lodge had everything you need and more although we didn’t use the kitchen much, they have thought of everything it was also much bigger than expected. Our party of four adults and one dog had more than enough room both inside and out with a good size enclosed patio and lawn area ideal for our dog which after a day out and the high temperatures we used until late in the evening, the lodge is ideal for guest in wheelchairs or with mobility issues the wet room was ideal, the games room was an added bonus even learnt how to play table tennis. We will definitely go back and would not hesitate in recommending to family and friends.
