  • "Great location in the town, very convenient for food and shops."

Lovely old historic building, and surroundings Apartment beautifully designed with original wood beams an attractive feature. Cosy, clean, well-maintained and homely. Heating very effective but on second day there was no hot water. Sofa in sitting room was too small and not comfortable for two people to sit on. No other arm chair or other seating available.

  • "What a lovely little apartment, just perfect for a break away."

A great location near to the beach and cliff top walks not far if you wanted to drive to Corfe Castle or Studland Bay. The apartment was perfect for the two of us and the dog and there was lots of space to fit in his travel crate and still have plenty of room that we didn’t feel cramped at all.

  • "A lovely apartment with good facilities, higher clothes hanging would be useful for dresses etc."

Parking was not as easy as suggested which made carrying your luggage into the apartment a bit tedious up two flights of stairs. The Snack Bar Across the road was very noisy until very late at night with loud singing which can feel a bit intimidating. Otherwise we had a lovely stay in a great location in very nice apartment.

  • "Just few suggestions."

Could do with another comfy chair in main room. Sofa not overly comfortable. Also could do with additional towel holder near sink and shelf for toothbrushes etc.

  • "We had flat 6 the attic."

It was a really lovely clean, spacious apartment. Brilliant to be in the High street, so central. The only fault was the key safe position, it’s tricky but not impossible. Lovely staff in the restaurant below, recommend the sangria! Would recommend a stay at this apartment.

  • "It is refurbished to a very high standard and very pleasant."

A previous reviewer wondered if it is more for the uner-40s - it's true we'd have been happy with less style and more support in the sofa! But the bed is very comfortable. We could have done with a smaller saucepan or two. Someone else complained of noise from the bar opposite. But this is at the front and the bedroom is at the back, so we didn't find it a problem - in fact, observing the bar from above was a source of entertainment. We found nearby free parking easily and the central location is great.

  • "The first thing that hits is the smell there was a horrible smell of damp/cabbage/drains - it started to clear on the 4th day after we had, had windows open the entire stay!"

Apartment is very well equipped bed lovely and comfortable - sofa however bought for style over comfort? Maybe people younger than 40 would appreciate it more. Also noisy bar over the road the snack bar playing loud music all evening with people stood on the pavement or in the street - think this is something future visitors need to be made aware of!! Not really an apartment for a nice few relaxing days away!!

About the location

SWANAGE

Wareham 9.7 miles; Poole 20 miles.

The small, family-friendly seaside resort of Swanage is situated at the eastern end of Dorset’s famous Jurassic Coast, on the celebrated Isle of Purbeck and is probably best known for its wonderful, gently shelving golden sands. The little town offers visitors plenty of shops, good pubs and restaurants, some of which specialise in locally caught seafood, and is also well known for its annual jazz festival, which takes place each July. The attractive, Victorian wooden pier offers a great place for a stroll or try fishing, and often used a departure point for divers, it’s a wonderful place to watch the world pass by. The historic Swanage Railway has its terminus in the town and regular nostalgic steam engine trips take tourists for a picturesque 6-mile journey, chugging through lovely countryside to stop just beyond the romantic ruin of Corfe Castle. Nearby Durlston Country Park offers a lovely day out with spectacular coastal walks, dolphin spotting and wildlife watching, together with comfortable viewing points and a well-stocked cafe for a treat after all the fresh air. Take the short drive to Studland, which has one of the finest beaches in the country, surrounded by heathland, together with the regular chain ferry, which crosses the mouth of Poole Harbour to Sandbanks. This truly is a delightful holiday destination at any time of the year.
