  • "A quirky apartment in the centre of Swanage, with plenty of sleeping space and outside space."

    Lovely welcome pack on arrival

  • "Garden area disappointing."

All furniture broken and dangerous. Cupboards that could provide storage cluttered, being used by owner to store left over decorating materials and bits and bobs. Front door needs to be hung other way, nightmare for families accessing and egressing together. A bit tatty, broken window, awful blinds in kitchen, cupboards wrapped and now peeling off. Strong smell of damp. Very noisy at night.

  • "We enjoyed our stay overall and the property has great potential but if we visit the area again we would look for an alternative."

The layout of the property is tricky with the main bathroom downstairs. The upstairs toilet is incredibly noises when you flush so didn’t want to use it when kids were sleeping. The accommodation is nicely decorated but all a bit rough around the edges with some mould/damp in the bathroom, broken windows that haven’t been repaired and everything felt in need of a deep clean. A few small extras that would make a difference - hand towels in the bathrooms, something to play with in the ‘games room’ upstairs, a bbq. The property is very central which while being convenient turned out to be very noisy at night. We weren’t able to find nearby parking and consistently had to park 5 minutes walk away up a very steep hill. Great selection of board games for older kids/grown ups. Nice window seats to people watch the high street and view towards the sea. Thank you for the welcome goodies!

  • "A centrally located property with great potential."

No allocated parking, double yellow lines outside. We had to park 5 mins away up a very steep hill. A bar directly opposite caused a lot of noise until the early hours as revellers spilled out onto the street drinking & socialising. Garden access is from top of steep stairs, with further stairs once outside. Not suitable for anybody elderly or infirm or for young children. The garden furniture was all broken, with metal prongs dangerously sticking out. The garden area had not had a clean for a long time. The BBQ was non existent. Broken windows, a bedroom & toilet door that wouldn't shut, mould in bathroom, dirty utensils among other signs of neglect. Window blinds that dont fit or work. Would definitely benefit from a lot of general maintenance & a deep clean.

  • "Perfect central location, comfortable, clean, bright and airy."

Tom & Claire readily available for queries. Definitely would use again.

  • "A well-presented and well-equipped apartment in a perfect location right in the centre of Swanage."

The apartment has a slightly unusual layout with the bathroom downstairs next to the front door which might not suit some. The host was easily contactable and very helpful with the couple of minor issues we encountered. Personally, I feel it would be improved with curtains/blinds which block out the morning sun as I woke early each morning.

About the location

SWANAGE

Wareham 9.7 miles; Poole 20 miles.

The small, family-friendly seaside resort of Swanage is situated at the eastern end of Dorset’s famous Jurassic Coast, on the celebrated Isle of Purbeck and is probably best known for its wonderful, gently shelving golden sands. The little town offers visitors plenty of shops, good pubs and restaurants, some of which specialise in locally caught seafood, and is also well known for its annual jazz festival, which takes place each July. The attractive, Victorian wooden pier offers a great place for a stroll or try fishing, and often used a departure point for divers, it’s a wonderful place to watch the world pass by. The historic Swanage Railway has its terminus in the town and regular nostalgic steam engine trips take tourists for a picturesque 6-mile journey, chugging through lovely countryside to stop just beyond the romantic ruin of Corfe Castle. Nearby Durlston Country Park offers a lovely day out with spectacular coastal walks, dolphin spotting and wildlife watching, together with comfortable viewing points and a well-stocked cafe for a treat after all the fresh air. Take the short drive to Studland, which has one of the finest beaches in the country, surrounded by heathland, together with the regular chain ferry, which crosses the mouth of Poole Harbour to Sandbanks. This truly is a delightful holiday destination at any time of the year.
