  • "I would like to give this property 5 stars overall."

The location was lovely. A beautiful woodland was nearby with acres to explore. It had various spots along its pathways with a croquet lawn set up, a tree swing and many other spots to sit and take in the gorgeous scenery. We were lucky enough to have a Fawn come into our lodge garden one evening and we spotted two in the early morning. A treasured memory!!There are also two sheep (mellow and repunzle) in the next field; to whom my Husband liked to go and say hello to each day. The lodge was well equipped and a great base for our week of exploring Dorset. The bed was very comfortable and we slept well. The hot tub was a great treat at the end of each day. There were towels, towelling dressing gowns and hot tub slippers waiting on the bed when we arrived. With a lovely welcome sign and goodies in a basket. All in all, a lovely place to just relax and unwind. Best wishes Louise and Kevin.

There is a wood that leads to wildflower meadows where you will find a bbq fire pit and a croquet lawn too! There are loads of facilities at the lodge which make every penny of the stay worthwhile, coffee machine, tea, locally made biscuits and chocolate and plenty of board games for an intimate romantic weekend away. We didn't indulge in the country walks around the grounds but that was because we couldn't source any suitable footwear (Wellies) for doing so. Kellie & Steve informed us of all the different locations we could walk to with seating areas and heating facilities at each one. The area is lovely, and the food and staff at the nearby pub were equally wonderful. We really had the best weekend and can't thank you enough.

Relax in the hot tub and soak up the picturesque views. The only sound you will hear are the birds, sheep, leaves rustling in the wind and the bubbles of the hot tub. The lodge is equisette, cleaned to perfection and has the most cute and tasteful decor. We don't want to say too much and give everything away, but the lodges plush amenities will leave you wanting for nothing. Kellie and Steve are the perfect hosts, a friendly introduction showing us how everything works and some local knowledge, and then left us to enjoy our long weekend. Owners are lovely! The welcome basket was a great personal touch and you can tell a lot of attention has gone into outfitting and decorating the cottage. Everything was clean and tidy on arrival. The inventory is perfect: lots of kitchen utensils, plastic cups to have a drink in the hot tub, slippers and robes, soft blankets, games, the list goes on! The information folder in the cottage is a brilliant source of info - we barely used our car, as there are so many great walks in the area. Hot tub a great bonus of course! We really enjoyed bubbling away in the tub while watching the stars at night. The surrounding (private) countryside offers a few shorter walks and hidden places to have a sit around a fire pit. The cottage also boasts a pizza oven and little chiminea (we didn't use these, but nice to have the option!).

☺️ Kellie and Steve were super nice, a welcome pack waited us on the table with lovely food and Prosecco and a birthday card, as it was my birthday and they remembered. Such a lovely gesture. There is an information folder that contains everything you need to know. This is a magic place, you have a private garden and it takes around 20 minutes to go around the whole place that belongs to the owners, you can use their whole woods and enjoy watching its lovely wild life; a deer, a fox family, rabbits, sheeps, birds, squerrel, etc. so wonderful and peaceful. The hot tub is brilliant, clean, checked everyday by the owners and it's so nice sitting in even when the weather is not the best, you can still enjoy the incredible view from the hot tub. It clearly shows that the owners are working hard to make everything clean and tidy while keeping the original miracle of this place. There is a lovely pub just a few minutes by walk, just recommend booking them in advance. The accommodation is well equiped, we brought a lot of things with us that we didn't need to use in the end. Although the owner's place is near and there is another lodge next to this, you still have your privacy, we enjoyed every minute so much! Thank you Kellie and Steve, see you soon. xx

They literally have thought of everything in this lodge. From fire pits with wood and firelighters ready to go and blankets to keep warm, to a beautiful woodland walk light up dimly by little fairly lights. The hot tub is fantastic, and the view from it is even better, most nights we had a little deer visit us. The wildlife in the area is outstanding, we saw pairs of green woodpeckers, a pheasant that would feed from your hand and walk with you in the fields, swallow flying around everywhere and much more. Including the two fluffy gentle natured cats that take a stroll on a morning and night. The owners were so tentative yet you felt like you were completely alone, thanks to the view of fields and woodland in front of the lodge, and a fence on the left tucking away the owners house. We were surprised to find a lovely bottle of bubbly and homemade lemon drizzle cake set out for us. The lengths the owners have went to, to deliver a relaxing and really enjoyable holiday, is ridiculous. We cannot fault them! I would absolutely recommend this place to anyone, whether your looking to chill out and enjoy a drink and the hot tub, or watch nature come right up to you. This has it all. I really could keep going on! Thank you so much, and we hope to stay and see you guys again! Emily & Matty

  • "Warm welcome and little extras not expected but greatly appreciated after our journey - milk, scones, bottle of fizz etc."

. Personal welcome from owners on arrival made us feel immediately settled and comfortable in the beautiful lodge and vast private land we had total access to. Location is great. Peace and quiet with nature but so near to local points of interest - we visited Sandbanks Beach, Studlands and Poole in our short stay. Hot tub and bbq facilities was an attraction on our booking which did not fail to impress. Big thank-you to Kelly and Steve who have obviously put so much hard work into 'Sykes' and it is transparent to us that it is a true labour of love.

  • "What an absolutely gorgeous place."

Steve and Kellie have put so much care, attention and thought into creating this wonderful lodge and this shows wherever you look in Pheasant Lodge. It is such an idyllic location, being able to sit with a cup of tea in the morning and watch the rabbits and deer running across the fields. Utter magic. The BBQ pits placed around the land are another example of just how well thought out this is, and are perfect for cooking a delicious BBQ whilst sitting back and enjoying a cold beer, with a gorgeous sunset as your backdrop. And when you get back, you can sit in the hot tub and relax for a few hours. I could honestly rave about Pheasant Lodge for hours and hours, but you will just have to go there yourself to experience it...you absolutely will not be disappointed!
