  • "This was a compact cottage set in the lovely Wiltshire countryside."

However, was dirty on arrival and required much cleaning before we unpacked. Cobwebs, dead flies and dust in all areas, dirty windows and overgrown shrubs limited views, while weeds in the paving presented a trip hazard. The TV was so small, the picture was barely visible from the sofa. The website pictures do not reflect the current state of the property. Yours, Unhappy customer.

  • "First, there was an over booking so we did not get the tractor shed so we ended up in the milking parlour."

This was 3 beds. It had its own garden and should have been perfect. The main complaint was hygiene. In present pandemic situation it was appaling to see the slap dash way this was cleaned. There was fluff behind doors where floors not cleaned behind doors. The kitchen was the worst. Oven filthy and fridge still had remains of food from previous occupiers. Crumbs and bits of food in the only storage place inside. There were no shelves. The ice box was full and there were bags of things that we had no idea what it was including meat of some kind. There was dirty marks on doors that had not been cleaned. Had we not been vaccinated we would have left.

Thank you for taking the time to feedback on The Tractor Shed, we take all feedback very seriously and have passed all comments onto the owner. Property Owner

The property

Located deep in the countryside on the borders of Wiltshire and Dorset, Cools Farm is the magical setting for two self-catering cottages, sensitively created from redundant farm buildings.

The Tractor Shed is a modern conversion providing top quality living accommodation on a single (ground floor level). Inside, you’ll find clean lines and contemporary fittings, all presented to a really high standard with everything you could need for a restful break.

The real joy here is staying on the heart of a farm, which itself is a wonderful place to escape to.

With breath taking views and access to walking opportunities on the Wessex Ridgeway, part of which crosses the farm, you’ll have a tough job deciding whether simply to relax and take it all in or get on the walking boots and roam across the local area. Cyclists can join the nearby Wessex Cycle Way, and all in all this is a great choice if you’re looking for a quality rural retreat in a really stunning setting.

Please note that The Tractor Shed can be booked with The Milking Parlour (988956) to accommodate a total of eight people.

One of Dorset’s prettiest and most historic towns, Shaftesbury is perched on a spur of rolling green hills, and the views in all directions are without comparison.

Lush green meadows, woodland glades and outstanding architecture are all within a short walk.

One of the best vantage points is from Gold Hill (Ridley Scott’s famous Hovis advert was filmed here) with its quaint, cobbled and very steep street.

Visit the ruins of Shaftesbury Abbey (a place of great pilgrimage from the 11th century) or navigate the intricate and ancient lanes.

Bath, Salisbury and Sherborne are all under an hour away.

The Tractor Shed is a brilliant destination to explore Dorset.
