Located deep in the countryside on the borders of Wiltshire and Dorset, Cools Farm is the magical setting for two self-catering cottages, sensitively created from redundant farm buildings.
The Tractor Shed is a modern conversion providing top quality living accommodation on a single (ground floor level).
Inside, you’ll find clean lines and contemporary fittings, all presented to a really high standard with everything you could need for a restful break.
The real joy here is staying on the heart of a farm, which itself is a wonderful place to escape to.
With breath taking views and access to walking opportunities on the Wessex Ridgeway, part of which crosses the farm, you’ll have a tough job deciding whether simply to relax and take it all in or get on the walking boots and roam across the local area.
Cyclists can join the nearby Wessex Cycle Way, and all in all this is a great choice if you’re looking for a quality rural retreat in a really stunning setting.
Please note that The Tractor Shed can be booked with The Milking Parlour (988956) to accommodate a total of eight people.
One of Dorset’s prettiest and most historic towns, Shaftesbury is perched on a spur of rolling green hills, and the views in all directions are without comparison.
Lush green meadows, woodland glades and outstanding architecture are all within a short walk.
One of the best vantage points is from Gold Hill (Ridley Scott’s famous Hovis advert was filmed here) with its quaint, cobbled and very steep street.
Visit the ruins of Shaftesbury Abbey (a place of great pilgrimage from the 11th century) or navigate the intricate and ancient lanes.
Bath, Salisbury and Sherborne are all under an hour away.
The Tractor Shed is a brilliant destination to explore Dorset.
