"Nice location near Glastonbury and Taunton."
Property much larger than expected. Plenty of room for family and pets. Large garden with lots of places to sit and enjoy the sun or night skies. Perfect for stargazing. The welcome pack was generous and included gorgeous pastries and doggy treats. Be sure to read the information in the welcome folder as it contains details about the local area and log-in details for major entertainment apps on the tv. We hope to stay again. Thank you!
Many thanks for your positive feedback, it is much appreciated, we are pleased that you enjoyed the pastries and the pets enjoyed their treats, and most of all you all had a pleasant stay, hope to see you again.

"Melita is a very well equipped bungalow in beautiful countryside close to Wells Cathedral and Glastonbury so great for exploring and lovely country walks."
Lots of games, puzzles and toys for children and treats for dogs.
It is close by the busy main road so noisy early morning.
A generous 'welcome pack' awaited us and a much needed cuppa was very gratefully received.
The quirks of the bungalow is that there are too many pretty ornaments as this leaves less space for us to put things especially in the back bedroom where 8 items on the tallboy left no space for personal items. An empty wall shelving would definitely have helped.
A smaller wardrobe might leave a few more inches to squeeze by the lovely wide comfy bed.
All towels were exceptionally large clean and fluffy and hot water always 'on tap' but the hall toilet sounded like a ship's horn when flushed.
Seating was not comfortable enough after a busy day and proper seat cushioning on the conservatory seats would help as sun lounger covers so uncomfortable and gave no support we couldn't use them.
All this being said we have a lovely week together at Melita. Thank you Helen and Robert.
-
We thank you for your comments and are glad you had a lovely week, but we were not aware that you were bringing dogs, if we had of known we would have put some beds out for them, and they even get their own welcome pack. The ornaments, well, we try and make it a home from home, but we can’t always please everyone. We are glad you liked the bed, unfortunately there is not much we can do about the gap between the wardrobe and the bed, without losing a bed side table, which we believe is a useful addition to any bedroom. We were not aware we had a ships horn in the hall toilet, thank you for letting us know, we have hopefully addressed that. But all in all you had a nice break from every day life, so thank you and hope to see you again, and if you do come again, please let us know you are bringing the furry ones, they would have had a nice bed to snuggle up in.

"For what we needed, the house was well appointed and spacious."
As the photos show, it is a little dated. We were surprised to find there was no streaming / smart TV available. We tried to communicate with Sykes prior to arrival and no luck. We did then call the local number listed and got a response. Also did not need to book a whole week, but a week was considerably cheaper than booking 5 nights.

"A lovely spacious bungalow just outside Langport (great river walks)."
It was very well equipped with everything we needed.
It's next to an A road, so some traffic noise, but nothing to make us wish we'd booked elsewhere and we sat in the garden most evenings.
There are fields close by for dog walks which was ideal, but our dog also had a great time running around in the fully enclosed garden.
I wouldn't hesitate to recommend Melita to anyone looking to book in the South Somerset area.
Many thanks for your kind words and we are glad you enjoyed you stay at Melita. We do try to make your stay as enjoyable and stress free as possible, by providing most things that make your holiday enjoyable. We are also pleased that your dogs enjoyed the stay as well, they are after all part of the family, that's why we provide little treats for them also.

The bungalow is so well equipped and comfortable. On arrival a lovely welcome pack for us and 1 for the dogs too. Lovely touches with 2 dog beds ready in the front room for them. Also the dog cleaning kit and hose was a great idea and welcome after the walks.
Great location to explore the area with plenty to do locally and a little further afield. The information books and leaflets at the bungalow had so many options we wished we had booked longer.

"A genuine home from home."
Everything there you could possibly need. Garden really secure for our dog and easy walk just over the road which was a relief. She also loved the ball and thrower and the hose! If we'd had children there were games and books to keep them occupied. The garden was great to sit in and relax. I managed to read a whole book from the bookshelf during the week too. Langporte great for dog walking by the river and lots of interesting dog friendly places nearby too. Only very tiny downsides the TV wasn't SMART and the toilet seat in the bathroom needs some attention.
We thank you for you positive feedback and am glad you enjoyed your time at Melita, with regard to the SMART TV, we have installed one previously, however we were getting calls from people who could not use it, so that is why we reverted back to a normal TV. The toilet seat is not the want for trying, this seems to be a fault with the design, we have replaced toilet seats a number of times and seem to get the same issue, we will try again.

30 am till late. This ruins the ability to enjoy a relaxing chilled out holiday, shame because the garden is a lovely feature.
If you had indicated this in your description of the property we would not have booker it.
We thank you for your feedback, there may have been a diversion in place at the time, which meant there was more traffic than usual, as it is not normally as you have described it, however, the location of the bungalow does provide easy access to all the attractions around the local area and provides straight forward access to the M5, A303 and A358.

"The owners have gone to a great deal of trouble to make Melita as homely as possible, it was like staying at a family home instead of a holiday let."
The weather was awful, rain every day, but the bungalow was warm & cosy to return to. We always take our own dog washing / drying things in case of bad weather but the owners has thoughtfully provided everything anyway.
We chose the village as old friends live there, but it makes a good base for touring the area.
There is a well stocked shop and albeit rather expensive pub within walking distance of the bungalow and a fish & chip van on Wednesday evenings which was superb.
So, summing up, no reason not to go to Melita, suitable for all ages and dog.

"We rented the property for a three generation get together for Christmas and it fulfilled that criteria well."
Although the photographs show a somewhat dated bungalow what it did not show was this has clearly been, or still is, someone’s home with their possessions still in situ. Now some people may like that but I prefer to rent a more sterile property.
On arrival the property was very cold and musty. A note had been left saying “ The heating should come on 3 times a day on a timer. One hour in the morning about 7am, one hour at lunchtime about 1pm, a couple of hours in the evening about 6pm.” There was an electric fire in the lounge but that was inadequate to heat such a large property. The first nights sleep was disturbed because the bedrooms were very cold with inadequate thin duvet.
We had no choice but to override the timer or vacate the property as we had two young children in the party.
On the plus side the owners had decorated the property with a Christmas tree and outside lights. There was plenty of hot water and they provided a welcome pack with mince pies and Christmas crackers for the children.
We thank you for your comments, however a little confused as you say you like a sterile environment rather than a home from home one, which is what we try and replicate and most people renting this property have enjoyed and welcomed, together with a spacious garden for the dog, so not really sure why you picked this one. Nether the less, we take note of the musty smell and will address that.
Regarding the heating, we left a note to inform you of the times that the heating comes on and off, you are quite welcome to alter these settings to suit your living conditions. Alternatively why did you not contact us, we are only 15 to 20 minutes away and we would have come and sorted that out for you. If you required any extra blankets, there are plenty provided in the cupboards?

"June 2022. Melita was all that we hoped it would be."
We live in a house so it was so lovely to have the 'bungalow experience' - no stairs! The bungalow is very spacious, extremely well equipped, spotlessly clean and attention paid to detail. The garden is totally dog proof so no need to worry about your fur babies and there is the benefit of having a laundry room with a hosepipe outside the door for muddy paws. The location was great for visiting all the local areas, we even got as far as Minehead, Porlock, Dunster, Cheddar, Wells to name but a few. Went off the beaten track to places such as Mells and Winsford. Booking was very easy, we have never used Sykes before and their website was easy to navigate, payment simple and communication spot on. I would like to say a big thank you to Robert and Helen for the croissants and flowers which were a lovely personal touch, and, as I said to Robert, I wish we could live in Melita permanently but alas this week it is back to the harsh reality of work and bills! Thanks for everything :)

We certainly lacked for nothing as everything that we required was provided and the beds were some of the most comfortable that I have slept on. The rooms are large and well furnished and it feels like being at home. The owners were most accommodating and helpful. Curry Rivel itself boasts an extremely good pub(The Firehouse) which does really good meals and is within easy walking distance. A small one stop store is just down the road and open from early to late, whilst a Tesco is in the nearby town of Langport. But no keys code on arrival, no working contact number for owners, large fresh tea stain in bedroom, finger food Mark's on touch points on fridge & freezer and kitchen cupboard fronts (all easily cleaned off), dust in corners of floors and bits of food under sofas, open food products left in kitchen including open sugar bowl with lots of flys and used toiletries in bathrooms, hot water running out first night leaving two of us using kettle washes, heating started working (strangely mid week) even though in the off posistion, instructionsin a box not in folder ,headboard very loose in main bedroom, dvd player not connected/compatible with tv, tv wifi connection to bt hub very very slow.
I am sorry you felt the need to comment on some issues, had , however, we would
suggest that you should have text us 2 or 3 days prior to your stay as at
the time we were in a very bad area to receive a mobile phone call when you
arrived. We pride ourselves on ensuring the cottage is cleaned to a very
high standard, so not sure why there was dust and food under the sofas.
Regarding food products, which is just the sugar, we take note of this and
will ensure this is placed in a sealed container. We do like to ensure that
our quests have the luxury of plenty of tea, coffee, toiletries etc, so that
they do not have to worry about a visit to the local Tesco on the first day.
The issues with the hot water, we would have welcomed a phone call to us or
Sykes at the time and we would have done something to sort this out. We
cannot solve a problem unless we know it's there. As the cottage is situated
in a rural area, we are governed by the speeds that are provided. Regarding
the CD player we will look into that, but again, we would have looked into
it straight away if you would have contacted us. We appreciate that our
