  • "A cosy comfortable cottage with a well stocked kitchen and plenty of bathrooms /toilets."

We did like the gift of biscuits and milk too

  • "Sea Breeze is a lovely cottage, carefully and tastefully decorated and furnished so as not to offend."

Located in a quiet road was perfect for us, with a great view towards the hills. Providing coffee and biscuits for our arrival was a lovely and welcome touch as was providing handwash and loo rolls, I would thoroughly recommend Sea Breeze.

  • "This "cottage" was more like a house."

To access it, it was necessary for us to drive carefully up and down the steep hill, and, steer carefully in and out of the narrow parking bays which we found to be stressful, yet bays were always available for us. The cottage was modern, spacious, well-furnished, and, clean. Excellent modern full-length wardrobes, very comfortable beds, and, an extremely quiet area at night. However, the bedroom blinds do not block out the light so this aspect was disappointing to our sleep. Wonderful views of the hills from the master bedroom. On occasion, we dined in the patio back garden along with usual noises from a residential estate. The kitchen spotlights flicker erratically, however this is a minor point. We enjoyed visits to Swanage, the Steam Railway was fab as was Corfe Castle, Studland Bay, and Durlston Castle. The Pier Head restaurant in Swanage served us superb seafood dishes.

  • "Lovely weekend break at Sea Breeze, a little farther away from town/seafront to walk than expected, (about 20 mins) but not an issue."

Other than maybe some blackout blinds at bedroom windows as it was very light at 4.30am. Not a problem in the winter months though. All in all a very cosy cottage and would not hesitate to book again.

About the location

SWANAGE

Wareham 9.7 miles; Poole 20 miles.

The small, family-friendly seaside resort of Swanage is situated at the eastern end of Dorset’s famous Jurassic Coast, on the celebrated Isle of Purbeck and is probably best known for its wonderful, gently shelving golden sands. The little town offers visitors plenty of shops, good pubs and restaurants, some of which specialise in locally caught seafood, and is also well known for its annual jazz festival, which takes place each July. The attractive, Victorian wooden pier offers a great place for a stroll or try fishing, and often used a departure point for divers, it’s a wonderful place to watch the world pass by. The historic Swanage Railway has its terminus in the town and regular nostalgic steam engine trips take tourists for a picturesque 6-mile journey, chugging through lovely countryside to stop just beyond the romantic ruin of Corfe Castle. Nearby Durlston Country Park offers a lovely day out with spectacular coastal walks, dolphin spotting and wildlife watching, together with comfortable viewing points and a well-stocked cafe for a treat after all the fresh air. Take the short drive to Studland, which has one of the finest beaches in the country, surrounded by heathland, together with the regular chain ferry, which crosses the mouth of Poole Harbour to Sandbanks. This truly is a delightful holiday destination at any time of the year.
