"The publicity photograph was misleading, the house didn’t have kerb appeal."
But on opening the front door , it was “wow”. So, a lovely property inside. Clean, modern, well-equipped. A sweet little patio outside. Conveniently placed for the town centre. A property that would suit younger couples rather than those of us in our later years. No blinds or curtains downstairs, so no privacy one darkness arrives. Sykes gave us confusing information about accessing the property via the key box. In an earlier email you quoted one code number and then in the final message you gave us another one. That was the number we had kept in our phone and it didn’t work on the box we first tried. We then found the second box at ground level, which accessing it was quite a challenge for an 80 year-old. Rather off putting! And then we were disappointed that the television set was not equipped to receive the terrestrial TV channels. In the welcome folder at the property there was information about linking our own device to the TV set but we didn’t have any kit with us to make that possible. Luckily we did have an iPad with us so we could watch the programmes we wanted to see. This information should have been included in the property details on the Sykes website. Most disappointing. Finally, we noted that a significant amount of the crockery was chipped and that previous guests had placed glasses on the coffee table leaving water marks. Not quite top quality considering that it was a newly built property.
We sorry about the box, the lower box is the emergency spare box. Sykes shouldn’t be giving this code out. We will take up with Sykes again about the cleaning, lock box and the crockery. the crockery was in good condition when we handed the property to Sykes. Thank you for bring it to our attention. The TV is noted on the website as not being a terrestrial TV. The property isn’t overlooked and so privacy shouldn’t be an issue. We are sorry you didn’t enjoy your stay in our home, we do love our home and this is the first time we have rented it, having enjoyed it ourselves for 2 years. We find this feedback upsetting as we put our trust in this management company but do appreciate that you brought it to our attention. Property Owner

"A very last minute booking and a there was bit of a misshap with the cleanup and bed change from previous occupants, but things were put right by bedtime although it was a bit inconvenient as kids got to bed late."
...everyone very apologetic and all worked out OK. House as advertised. We could tell by the photo the garden was small but it was OK , big enough for table and chairs and as it was hot we could open the patio doors and eat outside. New property and paint etc new. On the edge of town but not a long walk into town and the beach, we looked at the map when booking so knew it was not near the sea but actually not too bad. We do not usually rent a place without parking but it was the only accommodation left at such short notice in school holidays, but it was OK we found street parking close.Handy little supermarket just down the street.
Hi thank you for staying in our home, we have enjoyed it for the last 3 years and this is the first time we have made it available. We chose to have it fully managed by them so we have no direct contact with their support team or service team. We are glad the cleaning issue was resolved and hopefully it didn’t spoil your holiday. About the location
SWANAGE
Wareham 9.7 miles; Poole 20 miles.
The small, family-friendly seaside resort of Swanage is situated at the eastern end of Dorset’s famous Jurassic Coast, on the celebrated Isle of Purbeck and is probably best known for its wonderful, gently shelving golden sands. The little town offers visitors plenty of shops, good pubs and restaurants, some of which specialise in locally caught seafood, and is also well known for its annual jazz festival, which takes place each July. The attractive, Victorian wooden pier offers a great place for a stroll or try fishing, and often used a departure point for divers, it’s a wonderful place to watch the world pass by. The historic Swanage Railway has its terminus in the town and regular nostalgic steam engine trips take tourists for a picturesque 6-mile journey, chugging through lovely countryside to stop just beyond the romantic ruin of Corfe Castle. Nearby Durlston Country Park offers a lovely day out with spectacular coastal walks, dolphin spotting and wildlife watching, together with comfortable viewing points and a well-stocked cafe for a treat after all the fresh air. Take the short drive to Studland, which has one of the finest beaches in the country, surrounded by heathland, together with the regular chain ferry, which crosses the mouth of Poole Harbour to Sandbanks. This truly is a delightful holiday destination at any time of the year.
