"Beautiful House, spotlessly clean and well equipped."
The bedroom arrangements are very flexible and great that there are 3 double beds. We have stayed at Chatterton Mews several times and always love coming back. The newly carpeted upstairs is much appreciated.

"We stayed at 6 Chatterton Mews while visiting my mum in Lyme Regis for her 80th birthday, and it was perfect."
The house is in such a lovely location—really peaceful. It had everything we needed, and you could tell a lot of thought had gone into making it comfortable and welcoming.
The communication with the owner was great—clear, friendly, and helpful, which made everything so easy. The whole place was just lovely, and it made our trip feel really special. I’d definitely recommend it to anyone looking for a cosy and well-located place to stay in the area.

"The interior was dirty, smelt and looked tired."
The en-suite SHOWER had black mould on the grouting; BATH screen was filthy. Hair on floors. Plastic anti-slip mats were disgusting.
BEDS had hairs.
KITCHEN, although well equipped, the pans are all past their best and not safe for use.
SOFAS smelt and were dirty - could do with a good clean.
DVD player did not work. Reported to office.
The distance of the CAR PARKING to the Property should be stated on the advertisement.
We enjoyed our holiday in Lyme Regis but feel badly let down by Sykes; the cost of the rental did not match the condition of the property.
I shall be sharing my concerns with Head Office.

Thank you for the feedback which I found extremely concerning & upsetting to read. I have now had opportunity to investigate so that I may respond openly and fairly. I would like to open by saying that ideally such complaints should be raised immediately via the contact details provided to you directly & displayed in the property in order for them to be addressed without delay and not impact your comfort or stay. On this occasion you chose not to report any of the issues stated during your two wk stay apart from asking the laundry mgr if she could assist with the dvd plyr during her mid stay visit to refresh towels & bedding. I noted you did follow the LBH call out instructions to report the doors would not lock on day 2 When the mgr attended, you had moved dining chairs to barricade the doors
when checked the locks were in perfect working order and a USER fault was logged. He asked you if everything was ok and you said it was.
You chose to use your own bedding but (I’m sure by accident) removed our king size sheet.
During your stay you removed pictures ( snapping picture hook heads ) & ornaments which were found in cupboards? You failed to adhere to the check out time of 10am and were still in the property after 11am. When the cleaner attended you refused to move your car which was parked over 2 spaces.
Findings:
Carpark. Parking area is 30 second pathway from front door.
House smelt & tired. House professionally cleaned each change over. Plug ins are in use.
Sofas dirty. The leather sofas are clean and quite new.
Saucepans. Do have markings internally from dishwasher ( but are safe ) they are due to be replaced as per end of every season.
Mold. The grouting under the shower is slightly discoloured by limescale but no mold
Shower mats. Clean & replaced regularly.
Hairs, shower door. I cannot comment fairly on those points when you arrived of course. LBH provide a professional cleaning service & would have gladly attended if reported.

"A very small detail but an up to date calendar for recycling and rubbish would have been useful."

This being the only criticism shows how happy we were with the property.
Hi there thank you for saying that you were happy with everything we hope that you had a great holiday.
Re the bin calendar we attempted to get the 2024 version from LBH but have not been issued with it following several requests. We do actually have arrangements in place anyway for the bins to be taken out on behalf of the guests as many ignored the request to take the bins to the carpark on a Sunday evening, which wasn’t fair on the next guests staying ( we actually pay someone to do it ) a good point raised though we will have the old calendar removed to avoid confusion.

"6 Chatterton Mews is an impressive property which made for a great base for 4 adults and an 8 year old child."
Its location, circa 1 mile from the sea front, meant the use of the car was essential to get to the beach / restaurants etc.

"Really lovely house on the outskirts of Lyme Regis with the bonus of off road parking for two cars."
The location is ideal for exploring the coastline and other seaside towns via car. The beds were really comfortable and it has everything you need for a stay away from home. I would highly recommend this house for a family holiday.

We couldn’t have asked for a better property to stay in. Perfect location. Have stayed in many properties with Sykes over the years and this is by far the best. We would love to return at some point. "The bathroom shower temperature is controlled by the taps."
It's almost impossible to set a safe temperature. It's either scalding or cold unless the user is VERY precise with the settings. Definitely not suitable for children.
A thermostatic valve needs to be installed ASAP.
A second key could be provided as we were two families (2 x 2 Adults) and had to co-ordinate our return to the property. The key safe is of course the answer but a second front door key would have been useful.
Overall a very lovely property. We have stayed at a lot of similar properties this one is at the top of the list.

"Superb property with quality furniture, beds, bedding & very well equipped kitchen."
The garden was looking a little tired but we were more than happy with the patio seating, additional recliners & beach chairs in the outside store. 2 free parking spaces a real bonus in a seaside town. Would definitely recommend.
We had hoped to walk into Lyme Regis but discovered the climb back to the house was incredibly steep & a bit too far however there was plenty of parking in the town.

A nice garden with furniture to relax in at the end of the day
A car is essential for guests with mobility issues. Walking into Lyme Regis was fine but my husband struggled walking back. Most days we parked in the town, but this will add to the cost of the holiday.
Lyme Regis is a delightful resort ideal for children.

"The house has everything you could possibly need whilst on holiday."
It was clean and welcoming, we liked the addition of a welcome pack of local goodies. The garden area was private and a great place to sit outside. We explored Dorset and Devon from the cottage. Highly recommend this as a place to stay.

This stunning home sits in the ever-popular seaside town of Lyme Regis, at the point where the rugged West Dorset and East Devon coastlines meet.
Boasting a contemporary décor with fabulous fixtures and fittings throughout, 6 Chatterton Mews is a lovely retreat for families and friends looking to experience this Dorset AONB and the Jurassic Coast.
The open-plan living space is sure to be a social hub; give the chef space in the large, open, and bright kitchen as they get to grips with a range of in-built appliances, including a handy dishwasher, microwave, fridge, and freezer.
The kitchen offers plenty of workspace, conveniently opening up into the dining area where you can gather round the dining table and tuck into a home-cooked feast.
